Chapter Index

“This place of yours isn’t much, huh?” Yang Bo was still clad in his energy suit. After all, coming to someone else’s place without wearing one would be unreasonable, especially since the Pirate Leader was an old fox.

    Gulp!

This on-duty member of the Bounty Hunter Guild heard Yang Bo’s response and swallowed nervously. Everyone knew that Third Master hadn’t returned by spaceship.

There had been a chaotic battle over on the Mining Planet involving pirates, Anti-Government Fighters, and other exploration companies. Just recently, the main fleet from the Alliance had gone there, and then everyone left.

Since the long-life Energy Stone was involved, how had Third Master managed to come to March Planet? Could it be possible to travel freely through the void?

“Where’s your President?” Yang Bo walked inside without a hint of fear.

“I’ll notify the President immediately. Third Master, please come this way.” The man quickly said, thankful for Third Master’s aid on the Mining Planet, and led the way at once.

There were others inside, and when they saw Yang Bo’s attire, they were startled. They quickly paid their respects, “Third Master!”

Yang Bo waved his hand and walked to a place in the guild, which was clearly meant for receiving guests.

“Third Master, I’m the one in charge here. I mainly handle daily operations at the base. Would you like something to drink? We have all kinds of beverages.” A voluptuous and stunning woman with an air of maturity approached Yang Bo, then knelt down and asked.

Yang Bo waved his hand, “I’m just here to see if there’s anything valuable around.”

“Please have a seat, Third Master. The President has already been notified. There’s been some trouble here on March Planet recently, so…” The woman knelt on the floor and began explaining. The gist was that some disturbances had broken out on March Planet recently, and the President had gone to handle them.

Yang Bo looked at the woman’s chest, which was quite full. But it seemed like her gender was real, given the elasticity. Genetic injections that alter things are like his own Camouflage, all muscle but different underneath.

Yang Bo opened his helmet’s visor, revealing the Pirate Leader’s face. He waved his hand, saying, “Go handle your business.”

“Yes.” After hearing this, the woman hurried away but still brought a variety of fruits and drinks.

No one else dared to make a sound. Rumors about the Third Master being incredibly formidable had spread during his last mission. He had supposedly faced off against enemy warplanes alone, fought enemy mechas in groups, and even dealt with several squads of cyborgs and thousands of exploding drones.

Listening to it made the blood boil. These were legendary figures, and one had shown up in person.

“Third Master, these are the items in our guild that can be exchanged for points. However, many items require some wait time.”

“Also, this handheld device is totally secure. No one can hack it, and anyone who tries has already been dealt with by the guild,” the same woman said, pulling out a device the size of a palm—that looked like a small tablet. It was the Bounty Hunter Guild’s terminal.

Yang Bo nodded. There was nothing in the world that couldn’t be hacked. It was just that the consequences of tampering with certain things were too dire.

No matter how great the reward, one needed the strength to enjoy it.

He opened the device and began browsing. It had many categories.

Yang Bo immediately searched for personal Camouflage equipment. He found disguising cloaks, disguising clothing, and even disguising instruments.

But they all had one flaw: the user’s energy couldn’t be hidden once released.

One device, about the size of a palm, could simulate the surrounding environment, but it required fast reaction times. If someone moved too quickly, the device couldn’t keep up.

The highest-priced disguising cloak reached 80 million points. It was made from the fur of a special mutated beast.

Of course, that was personal equipment. The other items were even more impressive, like a camouflage energy Transmitter for warplanes, worth 800 million points.

Zhou Rui received the message and rushed to the base. But her father arrived first.

Half an hour later, Zhou Rui’s father saw Yang Bo, browsing the guild’s terminal.

Yang Bo also saw Zhou Rui’s father and noticed he looked much younger compared to their last meeting.

“What’s this old guy up to?” Yang Bo muttered in his head.

Zhou Rui’s father also frowned slightly, thinking, “Logically, this person should be old by now, given how long he’s been famous. Why do I not sense any ageing from him?”

“Welcome, sir. I’m Zhou Sen,” Zhou Rui’s father said, sitting down across from Yang Bo and introducing himself.

Yang Bo glanced at Zhou Sen, ignoring him completely. Yang Bo didn’t know Zhou Sen’s background or family, so there was no need to acknowledge him.

Zhou Sen felt irritated by Yang Bo ignoring him, but then he reminded himself that the guild was part of his family’s enterprise.

The Bounty Hunter Guild mostly operated on a franchise-like model, where influential locals would join and share profits with headquarters.

Without this model, the guild couldn’t have such massive influence. Zhou Sen’s family had gotten in early, providing funds when March Planet was first being developed.

Zhou Sen looked more closely at Yang Bo and grew more and more shocked by his energy suit. He couldn’t comprehend the forging techniques.

Zhou Sen was a master at forging energy suits, yet he couldn’t identify how Yang Bo’s suit was made. Energy suits always left behind traces of their forging process. A master smith could recognize those marks and determine the crafting technique.

Some master smiths even left symbols on the suits they forged, marking them as their own.

But there wasn’t a single trace on this man’s suit. It was flawless, seamless.

Zhou Sen didn’t know some people had Metal Superpower abilities. Yang Bo could change the shape of his energy suit at will, so naturally, no forging marks would remain.

Then, an hour later, Zhou Rui, now disguised, rushed over and immediately apologized, “Third Master, I’ve been negligent. I’m sorry.”

“No worries.” Yang Bo looked at the bald brute Zhou Rui and nodded.

At the same time, he thought to himself, “What would happen if I touched the bald brute right now… no, no, bad thought.” Zhou Rui then took out a ring and said, “Third Master, here’s your identification and your highest-level membership card. You can check your points and mission commissions.”

Yang Bo picked up the ring and found a chip inside. When he connected it to the guild terminal, it prompted him to enter his password.

Zhou Rui quickly provided his default password, and after logging in, Yang Bo saw the money and points he was owed.

“This is my father.” Zhou Rui added.

Yang Bo waved it off, “I don’t care about anyone else. I only know you. How long will it take to get the equipment I need?”

“It’ll take about three months. None of those items are with us here.” Zhou Rui’s heart raced at those words, but she was also worried about what ramifications this person might bring.

“Three months later, I’ll come to get them myself,” Yang Bo said before preparing to leave.

“Also, when you’re old and feeble, don’t come out wandering. It’s too dangerous out there.” Yang Bo dropped that comment as his anti-gravity power exploded, and he vanished in an instant.

Boom! A massive sonic boom was left behind in the underground bunker.

Zhou Sen gasped. Performing such high-speed maneuvers in this complex space showed Yang Bo’s strength exceeded his own by an unimaginable amount.

“From here to the exit in less than a second. According to their monitors, the speed was over Mach 4.” The mature woman responsible for reception reported hurriedly.

“No surprise he’s a man who can solo a warplane.” A member who had witnessed Yang Bo’s feats sighed.

Zhou Sen, who hadn’t believed anyone could solo a warplane, now believed it.

“This Third Master’s origins are mysterious. I’ve never seen armor like his before.” Zhou Sen said as he entered a private room with Zhou Rui.

Zhou Rui was startled, “You’ve never seen it before?”

“Yes, it’s flawless, no marks at all.”

“Did you find out anything about his background?”

“No, but his subordinates are said to be confined on March Planet. Could he be here to reunite with them?”

“They’re under strict surveillance. Our people can’t make any moves towards them,” Zhou Rui added.

Zhou Sen rubbed his forehead, “This guy is too strong. It’s hard to believe he’s rated just at Class A. I suspect he has the strength to cross the void.”

“Stay away from him. There could be things behind him that we don’t know about.”

Zhou Rui nodded, “People like him are just partners with whom we share a profit relationship. This guy has a bad reputation—ruthless and ruthless.”

“Hmph. And look at the planetary officials here. How many of them aren’t ruthless and sly? Without it, they’d never make it big.”

“That Pirate Leader came because he got some tip-off. Now that his group’s gone, he’s probably here for revenge.”

“If only we knew which family he’s got a grudge against. We could make preparations.”

Zhou Rui felt a headache coming on, “A super strong guy like him, moving in secret. If he decides to act, it’ll be huge.”

“Just look at the profits we’ve made from the 3-1 Exploration Company this time, shorting their stock market. Try to keep an eye on him. If we cooperate with him well, there will likely be more chances later. Someone like this doesn’t only have one partner.” Zhou Sen continued.

Zhou Rui nodded. Zhou Sen added, “I’ll also be leaving soon. If everything goes well, I’ll be back in a year or two. If not, maybe it’ll take a few years. In the meantime, don’t be afraid to spend money. Running the platform is all that matters. Money is secondary.”

“Keep observing Yang Bo. It’s your decision in the end, but his background is clean.” Zhou Sen kept explaining.

Meanwhile, after leaving the base, Yang Bo’s energy instantly retracted. His body shot out like a bullet, landing far away in the forest.

Yang Bo had scouted the area. There weren’t any surveillance devices around the Bounty Hunter Guild, but there were people.

As long as he avoided them, he’d be fine. Of course, they were mostly focused on guarding the base entrance.

“I’ll wait until I get some high-tech equipment.” Yang Bo wanted to test the performance of the gear he ordered.

The Bounty Hunter Guild was like a trading platform. Some items could be bought with points, others with credits, and some were crafted by individuals.

Yang Bo noticed there were pharmacists selling their own gene injections here. Buying them was simple, but getting a guild appraisal would cost extra, depending on the medicine.

Yang Bo went deeper into the forest before taking out the guild terminal. The signal wasn’t bad.

The missions available were varied. You could even pick up multiple missions at once, including from other nations.

But some had time limits. You could also input your location, and it would automatically filter missions. If there was enough time, you could even take missions abroad.

It had a mission area, points exchange, trading section, and a high-level members section, among other things.

Yang Bo selected March Planet and found a lot of missions. Some involved looking for various plants and animals. The most valuable mushroom was offering the largest reward.

There were also missions for killing people or kidnapping someone, and stealing things too.

“Definitely an illegal organization,” Yang Bo thought, carefully looking over it.

Of course, there were also official wanted criminals. Catching one would earn you a bounty and points.

Crimes ranged from the insane to the ridiculous. Someone on the run for killing someone else’s pet…

Yang Bo then set his location to Azure Blue Empire’s capital, Galan Star. He found even more illegal missions.

One was to kidnap a certain princess, offering a reward of 1.5 billion.

Another was to assassinate a duchess.

There was also one to kill a prince.

Or break someone out of jail or buy intelligence.

Other tasks included going after wanted criminals or debt collection.

“I wonder if some of these missions are just bait to get people killed… some seem absurd,” Yang Bo found it all a bit hard to believe.

After browsing for a while, Yang Bo went into a cave. He stashed the terminal and other equipment inside his mecha, then left the area.

This was just a probe, and a chance to show his face. It would be easier for future moves.

“If I could buy a warship jamming system and run some tests, that’d be ideal.” Yang Bo headed back.

“I’m also supposed to train underwater today.” Yang Bo’s physique had improved lately, and he planned to use the immense pressure of the sea to train his body.

It was the fastest training method Yang Bo could think of.

On the way, he saw some people installing defense cannons. This was the city’s outskirts, and it seemed the previous incident had a major impact.

“I need to start keeping up on the news,” Yang Bo decided. In his past life, he had hated watching the news, and it had carried over to this life.

“Especially public announcements in cities. I should keep an eye out for them.” Yang Bo returned home, planning to drink something nutritious and then head out for underwater training.

Just as he arrived home and went to the room where he went online, his wristwatch flashed with an urgent email from Fat Boss, requesting him to come over immediately.
