Chapter Index

After entering an ordinary-looking restaurant and sitting at the table, the Fat Boss Liu Zhijie spoke up: “Mr. Yang Bo, you probably have many questions right? Let me start.”

Yang Bo nodded, and Liu Zhijie continued: “Our company mainly provides high-end cleaning services, which means we offer home cleaning services for celebrities and politicians.”

“Mr. Yang Bo, you might be wondering, don’t these people have smart cleaning robots at home?”

“No, Mr. Yang Bo, I’ve also seen your file. In today’s tech-driven world, where machines are present, there are no secrets.”

“All of our employees are residents. During work, their wristwatches must be stored separately. So, during the service, you must follow commands because these celebrities have many valuable items.”

“Of course, as service personnel, confidentiality for clients is the top priority. I don’t want anyone revealing anything they have seen.”

Hearing this, Yang Bo almost fully understood. These celebrities must have their own secrets or privacy. Smart robots are good, but the risk of leakage is too great.

“Understood. I’ll follow the company rules.” Yang Bo nodded.

“Very well, Mr. Yang Bo. I reviewed your resume; may I ask, why are you looking for work?” Liu Zhijie looked at Yang Bo again.

Yang Bo glanced at his wristwatch. Liu Zhijie then said, “Mr. Yang Bo, don’t worry. This restaurant is custom-made. Any smart system entering this restaurant will go into sleep mode.”

Yang Bo was startled. The background of such a restaurant must be complex, but he didn’t say anything else. Instead, he opened his mouth and said, “I want to buy a house.”

“Understood. Our company offers dormitories. Would you be interested, Mr. Yang Bo?” Liu Zhijie inquired.

“Not needed for now.” Yang Bo wasn’t sure about the other party’s background, so he wasn’t in a rush to move. Wouldn’t living in someone else’s dormitory subject him to some kind of surveillance? “This is traditional grilled lamb ribs, using grass-fed, naturally grown lamb. No tech products are added, and all spices are naturally grown.”

After finishing the meal, Yang Bo went home. There was no chance to test out the benefits of being a transmigrator. Yang Bo wasn’t sure if the wristwatch had other functions.

“Master, I suggest you exercise twenty more minutes tomorrow. Your activity today did not meet the standard.”

“Master, I suggest replacing the current carpet with something thinner to avoid potential dangers.”

“Master, I suggest lowering the temperature by 0.8 degrees. Your pulse is a bit fast.”

Yang Bo felt like his head was about to explode. How had his predecessor managed to handle this? Yang Bo lay on his bed, feeling puzzled with himself. In his past life, he had no worries about food or drink, could play games whenever he wanted, and could sleep whenever. But now, with such conditions laid out before him, why did he still feel the need to work?

“Master, I detected insomnia. I suggest playing some calming music…”

The next morning, Yang Bo woke up in a bad mood. He had a quick breakfast, meticulously sorted the trash, and took it out, depositing each type in the correct bins.

An Zhijie Cleaning Services was located inside an upscale community, housed in a standalone building that resembled a villa, though it was simply decorated.

“Yang Bo, welcome aboard. Most of our service staff here receive projects individually. This is Wu Bing. He will guide you for the first two days; after that, you’re on your own.” Liu Zhijie introduced an older worker to Yang Bo. The worker, who was also wearing a wristwatch, donned a sweatshirt and jeans. He looked like he was in his early thirties, with black hair and eyes, standing about 1.8 meters tall. Judging by his slightly chubby build, he probably owned his own house.

“Yang Bo, nice to meet you.” Wu Bing extended his hand.

“Brother Wu, looking forward to your guidance.” Yang Bo extended his hand as well.

Wu Bing then led Yang Bo to collect their equipment, saying, “Our services are all custom-made. The pay is high but comes with many demands. Simply put, don’t look at what you shouldn’t, and don’t ask about what you shouldn’t know. Got it?”

    “Got it.” Yang Bo nodded.

“Today’s task is to clean a garden. Just take the task order, and the logistics department will prepare everything.” Wu Bing looked like an average, slightly chubby guy.

After collecting their gear, Wu Bing said, “The company has its own vehicles, though sometimes clients send their own people to pick us up. This time, they did.”

“Once we get in the car, we won’t be able to see outside. That’s because service starts once we board.”

“Before the service begins, our wristwatches must be taken off. They’ll be returned when we leave, so there’s no need to worry. The company guarantees the safety of every subordinate.”

The two changed into work clothes and geared up. Wu Bing handed Yang Bo the task list: “Look carefully at the service details once we get into the car.”

“Isn’t there any need to sort the garbage separately?” Yang Bo asked, reading the service details.

“No need. All the properties in this community are upscale, and the property management handles detailed sorting of the trash.” Wu Bing responded.

Yang Bo nodded. Just as they stepped outside, a champagne-colored luxury anti-gravity car pulled up.

Wu Bing glanced at the license plate and led Yang Bo onto the car. After they boarded, the car windows turned gray, making the outside view invisible, including the front window. The upper half of the car resembled a Drone Fighter canopy from Yang Bo’s previous life.

“Relax. Right now, the wristwatch is also in sleep mode. Since this is a private car, according to Federal law, unless by judicial order, a private car is considered personal territory, possessing absolute privacy and authority.”

There are too many federal laws. Without a lawyer, it’s impossible to know if you’re breaking them. However, accidental minor infractions that don’t harm anyone usually aren’t penalized.

When the window displayed the outside scenery again, they had arrived at the entrance of an estate. Wu Bing led Yang Bo off the car, carrying their equipment.

At the entrance, a security guard verified their identities and had them place their wristwatches in a box, then issued both of them paper badges.

Only then were they allowed into the estate. It was enormous, with lakes, lawns, a castle, and stone-paved roads. An old-style electric car arrived, and they got in.

The castle had elements of a Gothic style, but it wasn’t entirely so. Yang Bo wasn’t sure if this world had any connection to Earth, as he hadn’t found any information online.

The car stopped on the left side of the castle, where a butler, dressed in old-fashioned attire, was already waiting.

“Gentlemen, I’ll leave it to you. Please don’t leave the garden. Should you need anything, just press this button.” The butler looked to be in his fifties, spoke sternly, and left no room for questioning.

“Understood.” Wu Bing and Yang Bo both nodded.

They began clearing the garden, pulling out all the plants, bagging them, leveling the soil, and cleaning the grounds.

Yang Bo and Wu Bing got to work in their uniforms.

While clearing some vines, suddenly a shadow flew up. Instinctively, Yang Bo struck with his shovel, bringing down a bat. Blood slowly seeped out.

    Sonic Location +1!

“Brother Wu.” Yang Bo quickly found Wu Bing, forgetting all about his transmigrator benefits.
