Chapter 36: Bold Assumptions
by xennovelHowever, Yang Bo couldn’t find an opportunity because it seemed like someone was always in the room, and he didn’t know how to pick locks unless he climbed in from outside.
That said, Yang Bo didn’t come away empty-handed. He found out there were about eight people in the area, but he wasn’t sure if there were more in other parts of the community.
Inside SkyDome Amusement Park, Yang Bo held his ticket and entered the concert venue. The concert started at 2 PM and went on until 8 PM, with numerous artists performing.
Yang Bo observed the concert venue. The entire seating area was shaped like a giant peony flower, with different sections scattered around.
In the center was a massive stage, and the enormous dome above could change into endless types of backgrounds. Supposedly, the view from each section was different, and some even said each seat had its own unique background due to new technology.
Initially, Yang Bo thought it didn’t matter whether he came or not, but then he figured it would be interesting to experience the high-tech innovations there. Plus, that group wasn’t just wandering around SkyDome Amusement Park aimlessly; they surely had a purpose. He’d already familiarized himself with other areas, but this part was new to him.
“Could they be criminals?” Yang Bo muttered to himself as he looked around at the grand concert, filled with celebrities, dignitaries, and politicians. A bad thought crept into his mind.
The concert began, and Li Aidu stepped onto stage wearing a princess dress.
“Nice figure,” Yang Bo muttered. After all, in his previous life, as he got older, the first thing he’d notice in people was their figure.
Then he looked at her legs. He couldn’t see them well, so he finally looked at her face.
“Such a small face.” As Yang Bo looked at Li Aidu’s girly face, he felt a flutter in his heart.
“Welcome, everyone, to my stage. Today, I’ll bring you…” Li Aidu gave a beautiful spin, flashing a cute smile, and then began to speak.
Hearing her voice, Yang Bo frowned slightly: “Seems like she’s a sonic Gene Evolver.”
The sound waves in her voice made Yang Bo uncomfortable when he heard them live. His mind felt scattered, as if the concert’s music was actually waves of sound bombarding his brain.
Yang Bo quickly left. A member of staff asked him what’s wrong, and he just said he had personal business.
After stepping out of the concert, Yang Bo felt much better. He could hear the shouts of crazed fans behind him.
“Wait, am I the only sonic evolver here? Why isn’t anyone else affected?”
“Or maybe different seating areas produce different effects. The section I was in had mostly common residents?” Yang Bo thought about the strange seating arrangement and pondered.
Outside the concert, many people were watching the live broadcast. When Yang Bo watched the stream, he didn’t feel the same discomfort.
“Looks like Li Aidu isn’t as simple as she seems.” Yang Bo muttered under his breath.
Yang Bo moved to a resting area near the control center, holding a drink. After sitting down, he began observing the people coming in and out of the control center.
If the enemy had an interest here or intended to cause trouble, they probably had an inside man. Many things couldn’t be done without internal assistance.
“Weird. Is it just bad timing that I haven’t seen anything, or are they planning a frontal assault?”
“If I were them, what timing would I choose to strike?”
Yang Bo put himself in their shoes. If those people were planning something, they’d likely choose the moment that would have the biggest impact. Suddenly, Yang Bo remembered hearing that an important figure from the Alliance Senate would be attending tomorrow evening.
“So it’s tomorrow.” Yang Bo became convinced that if they were going to act, it would absolutely be tomorrow.
He quickly checked the concert schedule for SkyDome tomorrow. Sure enough, a mysterious VIP was attending, and Li Aidu had a big announcement to make.
“I hope my guess is wrong.” Yang Bo whispered to himself.
That evening at work, Yang Bo entered the facility. Absentmindedly, he snapped his fingers, then frowned the next second.
For some reason, several mechas had powered on. In the past few days, none of the mechas had powered up. When the mechs were activated, the internal circuits buzzed, and his sonic feedback felt different.
“Could these people be planning to use the mechas for their scheme?” Yang Bo wondered.
Even the Razor Mecha had powered up. Yang Bo’s sense of unease grew stronger, but he didn’t show it.
After finishing up, Yang Bo went to the exhibition hall outside. As he looked at the various things on display, it suddenly occurred to him: if someone stole a mecha and equipped it with the advanced attachments in the nearby hall—things like high-energy particle cannons and high-frequency laser cannons—it’d be a huge problem.
No joke, once a mech is equipped with that stuff, it could cause massive trouble.
Even if there are railguns, even if there are all kinds of weapons… But if an important figure were taken hostage, would anyone dare fire a railgun directly at SkyDome Amusement Park and destroy the place? The person who orders that wouldn’t have a good end.
After work, Yang Bo didn’t sleep. He kept using sonic detection to monitor the suspects’ room.
“A good chance!” Yang Bo realized that the residents were gone. He quickly stripped down and activated Invisibility.
He had no choice. Invisibility doesn’t work while wearing clothes. Considering the environment, Yang Bo knew it well since his sonic scanning ability was top-notch.
He made his way to the suspects’ door. As expected, there were no smart devices. In the stairwell, Yang Bo snapped his fingers to confirm no one was around, then snapped again, breaking a key metal component inside the door’s lock.
What if someone finds out? It doesn’t matter; no one will know it was him anyway.
“What on Earth?” Yang Bo gently pushed the door open, entering the room to find that the living room had been cleared out. Hanging on the wall of the living room was an oil painting. The painting depicted a man in red clothing, wearing a hat and holding a sword. The man’s aura resembled those fake people Yang Bo had seen before.
“Looks like one of those Western nobles from Earth.” Yang Bo looked carefully at the painting, thinking to himself.
The room was neat and tidy, and everything was arranged meticulously. Suddenly, Yang Bo spotted a box. He recognized it right away. Whenever he did cleaning jobs at other people’s homes, they’d often hand him similar boxes to put their wristwatches in.
When he opened it, Yang Bo was stunned: “Is this a fake?”
Inside the box was the Space Button being displayed by Dimension Company. Yang Bo gently stroked the Energy Stone and could feel its surging power.
“No way… Are Dimension Company’s folks involved with the thieves?!” Yang Bo was shocked.
After looking at the contents of the box, Yang Bo hesitated for a moment before quickly leaving the room.
Quickly returning home, Yang Bo spent 800,000 to buy a replica Space Button ornament. Yes, ever since the Space Button became famous, tons of replicas had flooded the market, and this one was the most realistic. The Energy Stone in it was even real.
He also bought a replacement part for the door lock. Once the items arrived, Yang Bo went down to the basement, where there were no cameras. He smoothly returned to the suspects’ room and replaced the broken part in the lock, swapped out the Space Button, and quickly left.
