Chapter Index

Yang Bo actually rushed into these guys with gritted teeth. With twenty mechas, all equipped with long-range weapons, how could he escape?

If there were no troops or ground fighters outside, Yang Bo would have definitely run. But stepping outside now would only mean coming out of the mecha and taking the blame.

As he was dressed as a Black Knight and had already disabled three mechas, Yang Bo realized these mechas didn’t seem to have close-combat weapons. Well, it made sense. With so many Genetic Evolvers present, if they had brought close-combat weapons, people would scatter. What could they do? Yang Bo activated his left-hand energy shield to automatic defense mode. Just as he had disabled three mechas, others were already getting back up.

Why use the phrase ‘getting back up’? Because just moments ago, these twenty mechas were lying on the ground like bowling pins.

Invisible high-energy particle beams hit the energy shield on the mecha’s left hand, and multicolored halos appeared over it.

The entire mecha leapt into the air and, with a slashing motion, not only dodged the long-range attacks but also sliced the most threatening mecha clean in half.

Why is Yang Bo so good at mecha close combat? Of course, he practiced through countless hours in the game.

“This plasma blade made of energy metal is really impressive.” Yang Bo looked at the mecha he had sliced in half and admired the plasma blade made by Dimension Company from energy metal. It was incredibly powerful. He previously thought the company’s advertisement had been exaggerating.

The mecha’s evaluation system would assess the danger level of enemy mechas. After Yang Bo executed a jumping slash, the cockpit displayed the mecha’s left hand holding the energy shield, constantly shaking to block high-frequency laser gunfire.

Yang Bo’s hand in the cockpit moved so fast it left afterimages. Due to a strong interference system in the area, everything had to be manually controlled.

Countless people saw Yang Bo’s jump cut the enemy mecha in half. They felt a chill running from their heads to their lower bodies, as if they themselves had been sliced in two, followed by an urge to urinate.

Meanwhile, blood splattered from the mecha that had been cut in half, staining the wreckage.

Then, the Razor Mecha’s Jetpack was activated, launching it forward in a boost towards another mecha.

The enemy’s pure black mecha tried to dodge but was sliced in half by the plasma blade, which was five meters long, in an instant.

    “Expert!”

“Curved assault, this tactic easily confuses enemies.”

“An ace mecha pilot, no doubt about it.”

“Look at the ground marks. The curved assault relies on foot coordination after boosting. One foot applies force to change the mecha’s trajectory.”

“This kind of close-range operation is extremely difficult. SkyDome Amusement Park has enabled ultra-strong interference. Other than this live broadcast signal left by Red Earl, all other communications are down. At this moment, all mecha piloting comes down to hand speed.” Those watching this scene who understood its complexity discussed it endlessly.

Of course, there were many innocent bystanders. Because the mechas’ shots missed Yang Bo, some civilians were hit instead.

    “Quick! Shoot it!”

“Useless! Aim properly, you hit me!”

“I’m not familiar with this high-frequency laser cannon; it’s a new product.”

    “Fire together!”

The enemy mechas scrambled and shouted. It seemed chaotic, as if they had no commander.

What Yang Bo didn’t know was that an extremist organization would never give away command authority to others. The commander didn’t expect his own people to betray him either. Frustrated, the extremist members began broadcasting orders openly while piloting their mechas.

But their group combat training was poor. It would’ve been better if they were fighting alone. After all, incompetent teammates are the deadliest. Moreover, these mechas were looted from an arms exhibition, so they hadn’t trained with these unfamiliar weapons.

Plus, operating long-range weapons requires specialized Genetic Evolver pathways, like snipers in an army. Without it, they couldn’t hit the fast-moving enemy mechas.

Their weapons weren’t easy to use, they lacked a unified command, and it’s likely their evolutions weren’t geared towards long-range support. This greatly reduced the threat to Yang Bo.

Yang Bo felt something was off. The data stream wasn’t right.

“Why does everyone seem to be skilled in warship repair? Could it be that these guys aren’t proficient in mecha piloting?” Yang Bo knew his random ability extraction targeted a person’s strongest skills. He had killed so many people, and none had mecha piloting skills? Despite how long this all felt, it had only been less than ten seconds since Yang Bo took down the Silver Knight to disabling five mechas. After slaying the black mecha, Yang Bo didn’t stop. Using the flight pack’s instant acceleration, he performed a jumping slash, evading attacks from a dozen other mechas, most of them using high-frequency laser cannons and particle guns.

The power of a high-frequency laser cannon is devastating for a person, but not quite dangerous enough for a mecha.

Plus, Yang Bo’s mecha was built with energy metal from Dimension Company, meaning the mecha’s material contained energy within. The modified battery fed energy to the mecha, enhancing its defense.

Yang Bo didn’t count how many mechas his opponents had left, but their intense firepower was making his mecha’s cockpit blare constant warnings. His energy shield on the left hand was frequently flashing.

    Jump slash, boost slash!

It all ended with Yang Bo chasing after ten mechas. They scattered in all directions, panicked. One mecha leaped but was sliced by Yang Bo with a rising slash, hindered by the low ceiling.

On the ground, because they couldn’t communicate, some mechas accidentally shot each other or collided head-on.

Suddenly, a massive hole appeared in the SkyDome, and countless dome fragments fell.

“Run!” Yang Bo had already been watching the situation outside. Seeing the hole in the dome, Yang Bo snapped to attention and quickly ran.

Many Genetic Evolvers, seeing the dome break, turned into streaks of light and darted towards the hole, some even carrying their families.

The so-called Speaker was hoisted by two burly men and flew out.

Yang Bo, with one more slash, killed another mecha. Then he leaped and stomped viciously on the second mecha he had disabled. Its leg had been sliced off, leaving it unable to move. The control center had been mostly destroyed, meaning the pilot couldn’t even open the hatch, and he watched in despair as the massive mecha’s foot came crashing down.

Another mecha, which had its shoulder sliced, convulsed uncontrollably. Yang Bo struck and opened its cockpit.

At that moment, the SkyDome shattered again, and this time, sky-to-ground fighter jets swooped in.

Yang Bo darted toward the basement near the stage. With a sense of urgency, he dashed into the basement while rapidly removing his clothes in the mecha.

Inside the basement, Li Aidu was with several people, including a nondescript middle-aged man with a swollen hand, cautiously watching the distance.

Yang Bo wasn’t familiar with the basement either. After coming in, he saw how expansive it was and whistled, revealing the general layout.

Hearing the mecha sounds fade away, Li Aidu’s group breathed a sigh of relief, and the middle-aged man relaxed.

Yang Bo hid invisibly after leaving the mecha, feeling an overwhelming sense of joy.

Earlier, Yang Bo had piloted the mecha out on stage. He had been inside the cockpit. But this time, he tucked the mecha back into its dimensional space without opening the cockpit. He directly landed invisibly, with the mecha stored. Now no one would see the mecha being summoned or stored in the future.

As for the black armor suit he looted from someone, it was still in the mecha’s cockpit. He had stored it, along with the mecha, into the dimensional space. After all, Yang Bo wasn’t sure if there was any of his DNA left on the armor.

Invisible, Yang Bo followed the sonic detection map and successfully reached the stands. By now, several sky-to-ground fighters were circling the SkyDome concert area. The remaining mechas that Yang Bo hadn’t killed had been blown up, and some unlucky spectators got caught in the explosions.
