Chapter Index

Yang Bo looked at the guy on the ground and carefully rummaged through, finding a pile of items.

“How do I use these things? Does it mean I need a teacher?” Yang Bo found a small mechanical device used for unlocking, a very precise one. He examined its structure closely before putting it back.

Yang Bo didn’t touch the corpse because the guy was carrying a lot of stuff. Inside his gray clothes were various types of injections, quite a few. Sonic Detection showed an energy fluctuation inside.

Five hours passed, and Yang Bo waited until the master of corpse destruction arrived. The woman tracking Yang Bo gently opened the door, took out a miniature device, and began scanning carefully.

The device showed no reaction, so the woman entered. She was tall, wearing a hoodie, and a face mask.

Yang Bo had already expected this. The guy’s death would definitely be known by the organization he belonged to because the Wristwatch had that ability.

The woman walked around with the device but found nothing unusual. The sound of water in the bathroom made her take out a small bottle. With one hand, she opened the bathroom door, and with the other, she held the bottle.

Opening the bathroom door, she saw a man soaking in the bathtub. On the floor, the man’s clothes were strewn all around.

Yang Bo couldn’t see the woman’s expression, but her actions showed she was shocked.

The woman first reported to some Supervisor, actually two of them, one from the Security Department and one from the Supervision Group in charge of new drug tracking.

    The two Supervisors started arguing.

“What kind of trash did you guys from the Security Department send? Got killed so quickly?”

“It’s all because your Supervision Group didn’t issue an early warning.”

“I don’t think you deserve to be a senior Supervisor anymore!”

“Who dares to go against our Company?”

“Looking at this, it must be An Zhijie Corporation’s doing. Those strays who operate in the gray area are the best at this kind of thing.”

“An Zhijie, those dogs! Don’t let me find proof, or else…”

“Heh, do you guys in the Security Department really dare to mess with An Zhijie Corporation? Don’t be surprised if your whole family vanishes without a trace!”

“The Supervision Group has some nerve talking! The target must have awakened a superpower, or An Zhijie wouldn’t have reacted this way.”

“Let’s stop arguing and deal with the corpse first. Then we’ll follow the next orders.”

After listening to the argument between the two Supervisors, the woman began dealing with the corpse.

Yang Bo watched as the woman took out a very thin gray bag and packed the man’s corpse along with some other things inside. She took out two small metal bottles, pressed a button, and tossed them into the bag.

The bag sealed, and soon the two metal bottles inside began to melt. Everything in the bag started to disintegrate, even the corpse, which seemed to rapidly decompose.

In less than five minutes, the big man, along with a lot of other items, including metal, had turned into powder.

The woman directly flushed the powder down the bathtub drain.

“That’s so damn advanced,” Yang Bo observed the whole process and couldn’t help but think. This was way more advanced than what he had seen on Earth, and he mentally noted that his caution had paid off.

Yang Bo didn’t touch the woman. The enemy was out in the open, and he was in the shadows. Moreover, they misunderstood, thinking it was An Zhijie Corporation’s work. It suited him just fine. As for causing trouble for the Company, Yang Bo could only apologize.

The woman then went to Yang Bo’s room and dismantled the equipment that the man had installed.

“So, it’s actually this company, the Gene Serum Company.” After the woman left, Yang Bo emerged from the Basement and checked the company rankings in the Alliance.

“It turns out to be Four Seas Gene Serum Company, ranked 9th in the Alliance. These bastards were using the Original Host for testing gene injections and then profiting at his expense. I’ll remember this.”

Yang Bo finally understood why he had been tracked.

He also guessed the cause of the Original Host’s sudden death.

The Gene Serum the Original Host took back then must’ve had a problem.

“Tsk tsk.” Yang Bo, in his previous life, had wondered why Americans didn’t trust the government’s vaccines. Turns out, after investigating, medical companies were using regular people as test subjects.

Although the Alliance had a parliamentary system, big companies still monopolized everything in many ways.

“These guys want to take my biological sample back to the lab for analysis. When should I strike them down all at once?”

“As an individual fighting against these super corporations, I feel powerless. I still need to improve my own strength.” Yang Bo did some research on the company, finding that their strength was overwhelming, making it difficult for him to take action.

The key was that Yang Bo didn’t fully understand the world’s power structure. As a resident, his access to information had always been restricted.

Now that he had a superpower, he hadn’t yet gone to approach any core areas of these big companies. Invisibility seemed strong now, but these companies’ core departments were surely heavily armed.

“I wonder if An Zhijie provides training for breaking into other people’s labs and stealing research data?”

“A company that does dirty work should be involved in this, right?…”

Yang Bo thought about many things. He realized he felt rather cold about killing someone. He didn’t have much reaction, instead feeling a bit satisfied. Was it because the target was an enemy or because he had been too oppressed in his previous life?

“The person I killed this time was a martial artist. He must have had a superpower, but I didn’t gain it. This means there’s a high chance it conflicted with my own powers or with me personally.”

“Gene injections use different materials, which cause variations in people’s genes. I wonder what gene they used on me? What raw materials?”

Yang Bo thought a lot but had no solution. These giant pharmaceutical companies gave him the same sense of helplessness he had felt in his past life. How much sway did these companies have in politics? How many hidden enforcers or assassins did they have?

“Oh right, if I leave the planet, what will happen to the Mecha Game?” Yang Bo prepared to enter the game, hoping to not think about this powerful enemy for now. The more he thought about it, the more stifled he felt. Entering the game, Yang Bo then thought of one question.

Yang Bo researched and found that game data could be transferred. The user sets a lock transfer password. Once at another location, entering the password allows access again. It was quite simple.

“These little trolls.” Yang Bo found himself mentioned on the forum again. He was piloting his Mecha, loaded with Mecha weapons. Someone was even calling him to a place to scavenge.

Moreover, several animal protection organizations had placed a bounty on him, calling him a pervert. A coward in reality who sought validation in the game.

“Damn scum.” Yang Bo, in a foul mood, entered the game.

“No way I’m dealing with mutants. All they give are garbage abilities.” Yang Bo firmly decided not to go after Mutants. What good was Mecha Repair, anyway? Even a rat had stronger powers. Mutants were dangerous.

“Sonic Control.” Yang Bo decided to focus on Sonic Control. In a high-tech world, supportive abilities were much more useful than direct confrontation.

Yang Bo decided to head to the bat-infested cave he visited last time. What he didn’t know was that as soon as he left the Game Base, the Tiger-Faced King got word. And those who wanted the Tiger-Faced King’s Energy Stone mine also received the news.
