Chapter Index

“This damn scumbag, he actually tortures animals.”

“Exactly! I had to change hundreds of IPs just to get to this base.”

“This guy has to be a villain in real life.”

“Yeah! We may not be able to outright kill this bastard, but we can lure other mutant creatures. I’ve bought detailed information about the nearby mutated beasts, take a look, everyone.”

“This guy is definitely heading back to the place where he killed the bats last time. So many bats, and this guy actually used a hydrogen bomb on them.”

“Amin, go drive the bats away first.”

    “Yes, Boss.”

    “The few of us will…”

“If his mecha keeps getting destroyed, he’ll probably go bankrupt. Operating that low-grade Razor Mecha, this pervert is likely a low-tier mecha pilot. Once he goes broke, the game company will sue him. Our goal is to make sure he rots in jail.”

    “Yes, Boss.”

What Yang Bo didn’t know was that a group of players had gathered from all around to deal with him, digging a trap in his own base.

Yang Bo looked at the mechas flying overhead with envy: “These mechas are so beautiful! They must be high-end models.”

It’s not that Yang Bo couldn’t afford to switch mechas. If the cheapest one had been available, he would have switched long ago. After all, he was only killing small animals.

Of course, those high-tier mechas have exorbitant costs. They’re used for hunting and capturing exotic beasts.

But for rich players, playing games is just that—play. They don’t care about repair costs or profits.

“Huh?” Yang Bo arrived at his destination and scanned the area with radar, but was dumbfounded. Where were the bats?

Did they move houses? Go on a trip? Or pack up and run away?

Unwilling to give up, Yang Bo entered the cave and did another radar search. Still no sign of the bats.

“This… this…” Yang Bo hesitated. Should he just leave after coming all the way here?

Looking over the data, Yang Bo was unsure. The data showed a place in the danger zone where there should be many bats.

“Let’s go!” Glancing at the ammo loaded on his mecha—hydrogen bombs, shockwave bombs—there was no way he’d go back.

The mecha walked automatically. As long as nothing interfered with its AI system during travel, it could reach the destination by itself.

“Sonic control… In a cave with thousands of bats, the chance of them colliding while flying is low.”

“That means the bats’ sonic frequencies are individualized, just like my sound wave superpower. To others, it might sound like whistling or footsteps, but to me, the feedback presents itself differently.”

“Maybe that’s why detection equipment hasn’t picked up on my superpower.” Yang Bo knew very little about superpowers. All his knowledge was self-taught.

Yang Bo was curious, but there was no way for him to gain more information. And in his eyes, knowing or not didn’t really matter. As long as the superpower worked, it was a good power.

There was no need to expose himself just to learn more specifics. After all, he was just a resident, not a citizen. What did murder have to do with him? He was the underdog here.

The mecha system prompted him as he entered the danger zone, so Yang Bo immediately took control.

Fortunately, the area where the bats were located wasn’t deep inside the danger zone…

Yang Bo carefully arrived at a valley and opened his radar, only to be dumbfounded again.

“The base’s information wasn’t accurate?” No bats, none at all.

Just as Yang Bo stood in shock, seven or eight sleek mechas flew overhead. Watching these graceful machines with their unique metallic gleam, it was clear that they were high-end models. In contrast, his boxy mecha looked utterly clunky.

Little did he know, in a nearby valley, a group of mutants was watching from afar.

“Where did these mechas come from?” The leader of the mutants muttered, staring at the beautiful mechas in the sky.

“I don’t know. They just appeared out of nowhere. They’ve stopped; they’ve landed.” The mutants didn’t dare make a move while the mechas flew at high speeds in the sky, due to the threat of railguns.

Surprisingly, these high-tier mechas stopped on a distant mountain. It looked like they were waiting for something or watching something.

“Let’s go.” The lead mutant greedily eyed the high-tier mechas. These rare metals were exactly what he was after.

This mutant leader possessed metal-absorbing abilities, expanding his power by absorbing different rare metals. In the mutant camp, he was considered a dominant figure.

The mutants entered the cave and headed toward the high-end mechas. No one understood the underground world better than the mutants.

In the distance, the Tiger-Faced King, who was watching the scene, was astonished: “Could they be the target’s comrades?”

    “Doesn’t seem like it.”

“Chief, here’s the latest report. These high-end mechas injured a B-class Silver Armored Rhino. It seems like they intentionally lured it towards that tearaway.” The Tiger-Faced King received the latest intel.

After all, this was the Tiger-Faced King’s territory, and upon reading the report, he was shocked: were the mechas planning to deal with him? Why? “Chief, according to the report, that tearaway is wanted by many in the human world. An animal protection organization is particularly outraged over his killing of small animals, but I don’t quite get it,” remarked a mutant next to him.

The Tiger-Faced King shook his head, then chuckled: “Don’t you see? That tearaway left with just one mecha. If we engage, we’ll not only face a bunch of high-end mechas, but also that Silver Armored Rhino. Hah! My neighbor probably has no clue.”

“Chief, you’re so wise! That tearaway is cursed. He definitely left the base alone.”

“Hehe, we’ll just watch the show from a safe distance.” The Tiger-Faced King snickered. His neighbor had a peculiar ability, and they had always been at odds.

While Yang Bo continued his search for the bats, marveling at how many rich people play this game, a flash of silver light suddenly appeared. His mecha’s sirens went off with a piercing alarm.

With his dynamic vision, Yang Bo immediately saw what it was: a massive silver beast, six meters tall and seven to eight meters long—almost the size of a double-decker bus—had just dashed past his mecha from fifty meters away.

Yang Bo quickly maneuvered his mecha to turn around. Just opposite the valley, he saw the beast tilting its head to gaze at him with its glowing red eyes.

“Silver Armored Rhino!” Yang Bo gasped. Wasn’t this thing supposed to be hundreds of kilometers away? Covered in silver-scaled armor, its horn bore golden patterns gleaming with energy.

Run! Yang Bo immediately dashed into a nearby cave and tossed a hydrogen bomb at the entrance. His hands blurred across the keyboard.

Boom! Yang Bo fled in his mecha as alarms blared inside.

Meanwhile, on the mountain, a group of high-end mechas watched through their team’s drones as the Silver Armored Rhino chased the Razor Mecha like a cat chasing a mouse into the cave. The shockwave from the mini hydrogen bomb sent the rhino flying, but a second later, it bellowed in rage and charged into the cave.

    “Haha, that guy’s doomed.”

“Yeah, that pervert thought he could escape…” The excitement was palpable in the mecha team’s chat, but then piercing alarms blared in each of their mechas as shadowy figures shot up from behind them, lunging at the group.
