Chapter Index

These traces reminded Yang Bo of the last time he saw the scene – the scene of mutants herding.

Yang Bo had a feeling that these mutants surviving until now must be because the Alliance hadn’t launched an all-out strike. After all, he could think of plenty of extreme methods to wipe out the mutants.

Of course, it’s also possible the mutants had some unknown means of survival.

The mecha moved quickly through the underground tunnels. In the underground world, there’s sometimes a disadvantage: some areas get narrower as you go, and dead ends are quite common.

That’s why Yang Bo followed the tracks, as paths with such clear traces were unlikely to lead to a dead end.

As for whether he would get lost, Yang Bo had already come up with a few tricks to exit to the surface smoothly. His current plan was mainly to take advantage of the Justice Gang, who were completely unreasonable. It’s just a game, but they still want to control him.

Perhaps it stems from his past life, but he most despised those who criticize from a safe distance.

“There’s definitely something fishy going on.” Less than ten minutes later, Yang Bo heard a faint, intermittent sound. It was somewhat similar to the horn sound he heard in the sinkhole.

In other words, someone was either herding or attracting these creatures.

Yang Bo understood that sound waves could attract or drive away creatures. Even on Earth, similar methods are used to hunt birds or scare away beasts.

“What kind of communication system does this mecha game use? Why isn’t my radar working well down here but the game visuals have no lag at all?” The communication methods of this world amazed Yang Bo. The mecha game’s planet is who-knows-how-far from his current location, yet the visuals have no lag, even though the underground world greatly impacts radar, it shows no effect on communication.

Yang Bo was fast, but the Justice Gang wasn’t slow either. These guys could control advanced mechas, which already said something, but operating them in the underground world was more troublesome, preventing them from moving at high speed.

However, the members of the Bird Slasher Gang seemed very familiar with the terrain and navigated their mechas with ease.

“Big Bro, is Bird Slasher heading down? Should we follow?”

“Follow. What are we afraid of? We might not outrun those mutant creatures, but surely we can outrun the Justice Gang.”

“Exactly! Let’s move. Ninety thousand people have already watched, and we’ve earned nine hundred thousand game coins, which we can easily convert!”

“Yeah, before, whenever we did something to earn money, we had to clean it before using it.”

In the Bird Slasher Gang’s channel, everyone was in a heated discussion.

Leading the charge, Yang Bo used his ‘Sonic Control’ ability to judge the opponent’s approximate location and rushed in that general direction. There were still some tracks on the ground.

Suddenly, Yang Bo saw countless creatures on his radar. Seconds later, he found himself in a huge underground cavern filled with countless cave lizards.

The lizards were all moving in one direction, while Yang Bo’s radar emitted a piercing warning sound.

“Haha!” Yang Bo laughed heartily in the room. These lizards had incredible camouflage abilities.

As for the alarm, it was because the mutants had discovered him. He threw a few hydrogen bombs from his hand, then the mecha darted into a side tunnel.

“Roar!” The dozen or so mutants who saw Yang Bo’s mecha were stunned for a moment, then dashed towards him. When they saw the hydrogen bombs, they roared in fury. Energy lights of various colors gleamed on their bodies as they flashed, chasing after Yang Bo.

But moments later, some advanced mechas appeared. The Justice Gang’s radar had also detected the mutants; they were thrilled at the chance to corner Bird Slasher and blow up his mecha.

Little did they know that in the blink of an eye, the mutants would launch an attack on them. However, the advanced mechas immediately activated their auto-attack systems.

Beams of light and high-energy particles rained down instantly. The mutants hadn’t even noticed the advanced mechas.

Boom boom boom! Right at that moment, several hydrogen bombs exploded, shaking the ground.

After tossing the hydrogen bombs, Yang Bo turned and rushed into a side tunnel, leaving behind two shockwave bombs before sprinting.

The ground continued to shake violently. Even though he was controlling remotely, Yang Bo felt his mecha become unstable due to the immense shockwave. He was thrown down the tunnel.

    Camouflage +1!

    Camouflage +1!

Yang Bo closed his eyes, as his mecha was no longer under control. After all, the shockwave from several hydrogen bombs was overwhelming, especially in a semi-sealed space.

In his mind, countless ‘Camouflage +1’ messages popped up.

By the time Yang Bo regained control of his mecha, he found himself swept into a raging underground river. The sheer force made it difficult for Yang Bo to regain control.

Alarms screamed from the mecha. The radar showed dangerous creatures in the water. Yang Bo hurried to climb ashore.

Looking back at the raging river, shadows moved in the water. He quickly tossed a shockwave bomb and fled.

    Electric Power Control +8!

    Electric Power Control +8!

A string of messages left Yang Bo in shock. Were those electric eels? Too bad I’ve run out of bombs. Otherwise… sigh!

“Holy crap,” Yang Bo muttered as he looked at the map. He realized he was about 1,500 meters underground. Did I roll this far? He marked the spot and started walking again, as more ‘Camouflage +1’ messages continued to appear.

“What is this place?” Yang Bo was puzzled as he observed the tunnel ahead. It looked as if it had been artificially constructed.

Left or right? Yang Bo glanced around, debating which direction to take.

“Eenie meenie miney mo…” Yang Bo muttered, then headed left.

“At worst, the mecha gets wrecked.” Yang Bo accepted his fate. Either way, it had already come to this; what else could he do?

After walking for a while, Yang Bo’s radar became increasingly unreliable, making him even more anxious.

Ding ding dong dong! Ding ding dong dong! A rhythmic sound reached his ears, while the radar’s interference grew.

“A mine?” Soon, Yang Bo discovered a vast cavern at least one thousand square meters wide and over twenty meters high. Hundreds of people were working inside, striking stones and selecting something from within.

On one side of the rock wall, there was a man-made entrance. From inside, more rhythmic striking sounds could be heard.

Just then, Yang Bo suddenly heard a rumbling noise. When he looked back, it turned out to be a surge of water. In moments, it turned into a flood.

“Oh no, did I collapse the underground reservoir?” Yang Bo jolted and rushed upward.

The raging flood swallowed the area where the people were working, and those people began to scream and flee. But in the water, shadows kept swimming back and forth.

“The electric eels from earlier,” Yang Bo thought as he watched the flooding waters rush through the mine. Those who ran too slowly were paralyzed and dragged away by the creatures hidden in the water.
