Chapter 75: Crack Void Reappearance?
by xennovel“We’ll meet again on March Planet. I’ll sabotage their system first.” Liu Zhijie’s heart ached, but he figured even if his subordinates died, the compensation he could claim would be substantial. Whether from March Planet or the transport company, he could still collect, minimizing his losses.
“Boss, that’s not wise. If you anger them, everyone in this compartment will die.”
“Exactly. Even if they sell us, we won’t be in immediate danger. We should think of a way out. If we fight these ruthless pirates and fail, what will happen to our families?”
“Boss, don’t act impulsively. These pirates have only sold us; they’ll likely hand us over to another pirate group. For now, we’re not in any immediate danger.”
“Yeah, Boss. We’re the first batch of immigrants. The planet accepting us must’ve been notified. The warships will be coming soon to rescue us.”
Just after the Fat Boss spoke, someone from his own group quickly opposed him.
Yang Bo, standing off to the side, didn’t panic. Instead, he looked eager to test his abilities. He felt ready to show what he could do.
But he stayed silent. Here, he had the lowest rank and weakest strength, so it wasn’t his place to speak.
“Do you even know what you’re saying? These pirates easily took control of the transport ship. This was clearly premeditated — likely by those Pado Planet guys. Think about what we do. You know those rich bigwigs would kill to keep things quiet. Maybe these pirates’ real target is us!” The Fat Boss exploded in anger.
Before anyone could respond, the pirate leader shouted from the screen: “Fatty from An Zhijie Corporation, don’t try anything funny. We know everything about you, so play nice and don’t think of escaping. We have fighter ships surrounding your transport. None of you can run.”
“And we know where your family is. Ruin our plans, and we’ll go after them. You’d better believe it!” the pirate leader added.
Hearing this, the Fat Boss realized they were under surveillance. He shouted, “Alright, alright! How much do you want? Name your price, and let us go!”
“Fatty, this isn’t about money. This is about our reputation. Let me tell you something: the buyers won’t harm you. They’ll treat you well—good food, good drinks.” The pirate leader flatly rejected him.
“You’re selling us to the Anti-Government Fighters?” The Fat Boss immediately asked.
“That’s right. The Rebel Force is buying you. You’re in luck. Otherwise, you’d have been space debris by now. You think you’re not being monitored? This ship’s advanced system is a marvel.”
“And controlling the ship in complete silence? Do you really believe we could just hack the system so easily?”
“Now think. If we can do this, who’s rescuing you? Even if a warship arrives, it’ll be led in the wrong direction.”
Hearing this, everyone fell silent. Yang Bo observed their gloomy faces, realizing the pirate’s words had extinguished any spirit of resistance. They had been banking on rescue.
“Damn, this is so corrupt!” Yang Bo cursed internally.
“Damned Red Earl! Could some Pado Planet officials be in on the attack? Otherwise, how could Red Earl so easily seize the world’s most advanced entertainment center?” Yang Bo considered this possibility.
“Everyone, get out of your rooms so I can see you. If any compartment has a different headcount than expected, we’ll wipe out everyone inside!” The pirate leader issued a new command.
“Don’t think that because there are over ten thousand of you, we can’t eliminate you all in under a minute with our mechs.”
“We don’t want to kill anyone this time. Don’t force us to throw you into space. Maybe in hundreds or thousands of years, you’ll only be found as space debris.”
“You all have families, lovers, and children. Honestly, joining the Rebel Force isn’t so bad. You can still live well there.”
“There’s another option. Join us. We need three to five new mecha pilots. Their families will get to live with us.”
The pirate leader’s words made Yang Bo realize that resistance wasn’t an option. The key was that the transport ship was under control. If the pirate warship opened fire, everything inside the compartment would be sucked into the vacuum of space.
Even superhumans were still human—they weren’t invincible machines. Space had extreme cold, intense dangers, and a vacuum environment. Even with their powers, they could only survive briefly. Once their energy was depleted, they’d become corpses.
“Good, this compartment is in order.” The pirates entered another compartment. Everyone inside seemed to be waiting.
“This is a collar bomb that restricts superhuman abilities. If any superhuman exceeds a certain energy threshold, it explodes.” The pirates began handing out collars to those in the compartment.
The people’s faces paled, but no one dared protest. Yang Bo didn’t know what to do. After all, they were in a public space.
Everyone watched, speechless, as the pirates placed collars on each person.
Yang Bo noticed that no children were being collared — only the men and women. It made sense, though.
They were driven out, escorted by the pirates, carrying their luggage. It seemed they’d be transferred to the warship.
Facing mecha-wielding, energy-suited pirates armed with energy weapons, no one dared resist. They all knew resistance would mean being torn to pieces.
In this technological era, individual prowess could only compete if it reached monstrous levels. Otherwise, technology would win every time.
And people with monstrous superpowers were incredibly rare. If superhumans could truly crush technology, the world would’ve long been under their rule.
Yet it wasn’t. Technology still ruled the world, and that said it all.
“What now? What now?” Yang Bo was anxious, watching the others’ faces. It seemed no one was willing to resist.
“Why isn’t anyone putting up a fight? If they resisted, I could slip away in the chaos.” Yang Bo wasn’t sure how long it would take for them to get to him, but that collar was definitely bad news.
“Wow! Everyone’s so cooperative! Very good! Very good!” There were about five or six pirate teams, roughly a hundred pirates, opening one compartment after another, putting collars on adults. The mechs loomed by, keeping watch. The pirate leader was in a great mood, clapping as he spoke.
Suddenly, the large screen trembled. In the next second, the screen changed, showing the massive transport ship moving. It accelerated and rammed into a nearby warship.
The warship visibly dented as the transport ship’s force crushed its hull, smashing it backward with such strength that the warship was thrown far off. The warship had been preparing to take the hostages, so not only was it close, but its energy shields weren’t activated. One of the two fighter jets patrolling in space exploded from the transport’s movements.
The transport ship itself was also heavily damaged. Robots were seen rescuing people as dozens of escape pods launched in all directions. The remaining Drone Fighter pursued them as the screen flickered out.
“Silver Moon Pirates, didn’t you bother to find out who founded March Planet?” A voice boomed as a flash of icy blue light cut through the control room of the transport ship, instantly slicing the seven or eight energy-suited pirates into countless pieces.
“Crack Void!” Yang Bo gasped.
