Chapter 76: Sudden Change of Events

“Planet Guardians!” someone exclaimed.

On the large screen, a shimmering blue Crack Void flashed with a mesmerizing glow.

Crack Void, as Yang Bo saw in the advertisement last time, was something he murmured about, claiming it was more powerful than a flying sword. Yang Bo only knew it was called Crack Void, but nothing else.

“That’s not a Planet Guardian. That Crack Void is average. It’s likely a super evolver, probably some high-ranking military officers from March Planet,” Fat Boss shook his head and said.

“We’re saved.”

“Yeah, they’re incredible!”

“Exactly!”

“Looks like going to March Planet was the right call.”

Everyone was discussing excitedly. Yang Bo also breathed a sigh of relief. With such a powerful figure around, there’s no doubt they were safe. However, noticing Fat Boss’s even darker expression, Yang Bo’s heart sank.

Fat Boss shook his head and said, “In such a confined space as this spaceship, Crack Void isn’t exactly ideal. The mecha’s automatic laser cannon system responds faster.”

At that moment, a voice spoke, “Citizens of March Planet, I deeply apologize for bringing you into danger this time.”

“Now, please remember my words. I will open all passages connecting the Cargo Bay with the passenger cabin. Everyone should try to hide in the Cargo Bay to avoid the pirates’ attack.”

“There’s an insider among the pirates on this transport ship. I can’t trust anyone now, so I’m forced to take these measures.”

“I’ve sent out a distress signal to the Star Mark. A fleet is expected to arrive in three days to rescue us.”

“During this period, I will activate the transport ship’s spinning system to prevent the pirate warships from approaching us.”

As soon as the voice faded, the blue Crack Void in the main control room spun, then the screen went black.

The passage into the cabin opened up.

Stunned! The escape pod is an independent system. Even with the ship spinning, using the escape pod would be fine. Escape pod and life pod are basically the same thing.

Everyone was dumbstruck. Fat Boss leapt towards a surveillance camera, touched it, and said, “It’s cut off. Hurry, everyone, get to the Cargo Bay.”

A green arrow marked the path to the Cargo Bay. Everyone rushed through the opened passage.

Considering the size of this transport ship, most of it is the Cargo Bay. Yang Bo realized this too.

It seemed that March Planet had indeed sent people to protect these immigrants, and they were quite powerful. But due to an insider, they couldn’t trust anyone.

They let the transport ship spin out in space, preventing the pirate warships and fighter jets from approaching. Although, given enough time, the pirate warships could adapt.

Yang Bo quickly went inside, closed the door, locked it, and then carefully inspected the maintenance entrance…

“Ah!” The Silver Moon Pirate leader and others arrived at the main control room, looking at their fallen comrades.

Because all the main systems were offline, none of the elevators worked. Both mecha and men had climbed the stairs. The main control room was a mess, and the central optical brain was cut into pieces. They could see the transport ship spinning.

“Third Brother, what the hell were you doing?” The pirate leader asked furiously, glaring at a man in silver armor.

“Big Brother, I checked the cargo manifest and found something valuable. Over a thousand energy weapons and some Energy Suit. I went to check it out myself,” Third Brother said, sulkily explaining.

The pirate leader paused and asked, “Samu Resource Recycling Corporation’s?”

“Yeah.”

“Big Brother, should we just leave?”

“Big Brother, which faction opened up March Planet?” A chill ran down the spines of the other pirates. A person controlling Crack Void was hiding in the shadows… this…

The pirate leader quickly snapped, “We’re pirates! What are we afraid of? Fifth Brother, go outside the transport ship and use the mecha to contact our warship.”

“Sync up the data if you can. As far as I know, the nearest warship is at least a week away. In this week, as long as our warship docks, we’ll be fine.”

“Also, we still have seventy-six people, thirty-six mecha. Each squad consists of six mecha. Find the survivors and gather them together. Kill those who resist.”

“What about Crack Void? Under the mecha’s automated firepower, it’d only be able to take out one mecha at most.” The pirate leader sneered.

“Big Brother, you’re right about that.” The others immediately agreed.

The pirate leader growled, “Once the warship docks, we’ll bring the survivors aboard and blow up this transport ship. We’ll make sure the bastard who dares to kill so many of us dies with it. There’s no need to go after them. We were paid by the Anti-Government Fighters. If we don’t deliver these people, those rabid dogs will never leave us alone.”

“Understood.”

The pirates split into six teams. Five of them had six mecha each, along with four pirate members, to search for survivors.

The remaining six mecha and others were stationed in an entertainment room, watching the restrained captives, some of whom wore shackles. The newly found survivors were also brought there.

The pirate leader was nearby, watching his men play a horse racing game with their laser guns, while the scared hostages cried. The pirate leader sneered, “What bullshit animal protection laws. Alliance dogs made that up to fool idiots.”

The place had a wide view and enough space to hold plenty of people. Six mecha had activated their security systems, forming a crossfire network. Unless their opponent also had mecha, escape was impossible. The pirate leader knew that no one inside was an evolved B-tier. Even if one was hiding, they wouldn’t be a match. Unless they were A or A+ tier gene evolvers, coming here meant certain death.

Yang Bo walked through the wide corridor. This was the maintenance passage. Looking at the strand of hair in his hand, an idea struck. In the next second, Yang Bo touched his face.

“It feels…” Yang Bo realized he had changed… into a young boy… A bad thought occurred to him. If he transformed into a girl then… cough, cough. He also noticed his voice had changed.

“This should be it. After all, my vocal cords have changed.”

“Let’s head to the maintenance center. It’d be a perfect place to find a mech for practice.” After thinking for a moment, Yang Bo reverted to his original form since maintaining the Camouflage consumed energy.
