Chapter Index

Yang Bo put on the energy suit. It wasn’t easy to find one. Generally speaking, the battle energy suits of Genetic Evolvers were the most prone to damage. The damage rate for their suits was the highest since, in battle, the mechs or other attacks always hit the suit first. The chance of preserving energy weapons was much higher.

With a thought, the energy suit tightly fitted itself onto his body. With the energy suit on, he no longer needed a gravity suit and could walk around the spaceship freely.

Yang Bo manipulated the energy suit to change its appearance, making it identical to the pirates’ suits outside. Adding in the changes to his energy weapons, he now looked like a completely different pirate.

Yang Bo had considered how to deal with these pirates. But what could he do against dozens of mechs and people? These guys were professionals, so their strength definitely wasn’t low. Yang Bo, however, had two powerful skills: Camouflage and Invisibility.

But if either of these skills got exposed, it would be a disaster. Once the news got leaked, everyone on the spaceship might be thoroughly inspected and possibly detained.

Yang Bo absolutely wouldn’t expose these two skills. Just earlier, he dealt with that repairman because he was afraid of revealing his Camouflage ability. If both skills were exposed, Yang Bo would have no choice but to become a wandering vagrant in space.

Besides, among the many passengers, there were surely some capable people. And that person controlling Crack Void—there’s no way they wouldn’t have a solid plan. They wouldn’t just throw everyone into danger with empty words.

Not to sound harsh, but even if all these people died, it wouldn’t impact Yang Bo that much. Preserving himself was the most important thing.

At worst, he could end up being captured on the pirates’ warship. Then he’d figure out another plan. With his mech, survival would be much easier.

Yang Bo looked at the cargo filled with energy weapons and had an idea.

“Quick! It’s just up ahead. There are over 1,000 energy weapons inside plus energy suits. These are all valuable goods.”

“Big Bro is something else. He didn’t grab the good stuff in the Cargo Bay first. Those hostages aren’t even worth much!” Just then, a voice came.

“Damn!” Yang Bo was speechless. He felt like he had the worst luck, always running into situations like this. He only delayed here for a moment, and now pirates had shown up again.

“Not good, someone beat us to it!” a cry of alarm echoed, and a figure clad in a silver energy suit appeared at the cargo’s entrance. The energy suit this person wore clearly looked more advanced than the other pirates’ suits around them.

Three more people stood behind the one in the silver suit. All four were fully encased in their energy suits, making it impossible to see their faces.

“One energy suit’s missing!” the person in the silver suit examined the area and spoke.

“Third Bro, it’s just an energy suit; it’s not a big deal. Let’s move these things out first.”

“Third Bro! Yeah! These things are worth a fortune. Even on the black market, we could sell each piece for over a million!”

“Third Bro! Let’s get to it. Big Bro doesn’t like it? Then we’ll just do it ourselves.”

“Exactly! We’ll pack up these energy weapons, throw them out in an escape pod. The bros outside will intercept the pod, and then we’ll all split the money.”

Hiding in the corner, Yang Bo listened to their conversation and realized these guys were working behind their pirate leader’s back to make some extra cash. Hearing that these energy weapons only sold for a million on the black market, Yang Bo felt speechless. He had bought his for ten million.

But there was no way around it. Sanko Recovery Company apparently had military backing. Otherwise, how could they collect so many energy weapons? They always got to clean up the battlefield first.

“Be careful. Someone took an energy suit, so that means someone may have taken energy weapons too. I told Big Bro to leave right away. This deal isn’t worth it. But he insisted on capturing people!” The one in the silver suit spoke.

“Third Bro, Big Bro’s concerns aren’t baseless. The Anti-Government Fighters are unpredictable. Honestly, we shouldn’t be doing business with them. Working with the big corporations in the Alliance is much better. Even if the prices are lower, there aren’t so many complications.” The three others began moving the energy weapons, placing them in special containers.

The one in the silver suit shook his head. “Big Bro must have his reasons. Let’s get to work. There’s someone onboard who can use Crack Void. We should all be extra cautious.”

“Third Bro, I don’t think the one using Crack Void is that powerful. If there really was a Planet Guardian here with that level of power, we’d have been cut down a long time ago!” one of the others said while moving the energy weapons.

“Crack Void is definitely a great tool. But there are many limitations to using it. First, it requires a lot of hardware support. On a planet with a communication system, Crack Void is fully effective. But here on a transport ship, the conditions for its use are limited. Plus, its effectiveness depends on the user. The results between a C-rank Evolver and an A-rank Evolver would be completely different!”

“Third Bro, do you think the mech outside can successfully dock with the warship? If so, we could move way more stuff. Using an escape pod is such a hassle!”

“It should be fine. Since Big Bro’s going with this plan!”

Hidden in the corner, Yang Bo’s heart sank when he heard this. If the warship docked with the transport ship, bigger trouble awaited. The warship was bound to bring even more pirates.

“Damn it!” Yang Bo cursed silently.

The three moved quickly. All 1,000-plus energy weapons and energy suits in the cargo were packed into several containers. But since the machines couldn’t be operated automatically, they had to manually control two machines to carry dozens of containers.

Yang Bo had thought about acting, but the one in the silver suit was constantly on guard, scanning the area. His suit faintly emitted a glow, indicating it was in a charged state, proving he was still vigilant.

Yang Bo could definitely attack from his invisible state, but if even one of these four escaped, the secret of his Invisibility would surely leak!

Yang Bo re-entered the maintenance passage. With the energy suit on, he could deactivate the suit’s gravity response, allowing him to float weightlessly through the passage back upward.

Arriving at the transport ship’s exit, Yang Bo took a deep breath. He was here to conduct a critical experiment.

He entered the sealed cabin and closed the door from the maintenance passage.

Then Yang Bo activated his Metal Skin ability.

He took a deep breath and carefully opened the outer door.

“Haha!” A few seconds later, Yang Bo almost burst out laughing. The sealed cabin was now a vacuum, but he felt no discomfort at all. Suffocation wasn’t a problem! Yang Bo had long suspected that after his skin turned to metal, he no longer counted as a regular human. As long as he had energy in his body, he could definitely survive in a vacuum.

“There’s one more important experiment!” Yang Bo took another deep breath.
