Chapter Index

“Alright, I also promise that from now on the other people on the Transport Ship will be properly protected.”

“Additionally, we request to be converted into informants! Keep our identities secret. We know many pirates and a lot about their other identities. We even know some anti-government fighters.”

“Also, you must guarantee the safety and identities of our families. After all, our families will most likely become citizens of March Planet in the future!” The reason Yang Bo said this was to give the Chief Magistrate credit. In Yang Bo’s view, the fact that these people on the Transport Ship turned from danger to safety was all thanks to this Chief Magistrate. Giving some credit to him wasn’t a problem! “Agreed!” The young man on the other side didn’t expect such a good deal. Being an informant wasn’t something just anyone could do, and these pirates had been hiding in the Void for many years, definitely holding many secrets! This was an even bigger accomplishment for him!

The young man silently thought to himself, ‘When the time comes, I’ll beat this guy up and let him rot in jail!’

“Alright, let’s settle this! I’ll have someone synchronize the data with your fleet and wait for them to board the Transport Ship. The mole is already dead, and he was a mechanic!” Yang Bo finished speaking, knowing there wasn’t much else to discuss.

“So, you have no other requests?” The young man was surprised. The position Yang Bo had taken and the outcome of the talks didn’t match the fact that they had so many hostages!

“Ha ha, you don’t really think we’d use these hostages to demand things like a warship or anything like that, do you? I believe that’s absolutely impossible. If the Transport Ship’s communications hadn’t been destroyed, I might have tried that, because you’d be facing public pressure and might have no choice!”

“But now, this ship is like a coffin. If we made too many demands, I suspect you’d just blow up the Transport Ship. After all, compared to these citizens, losing a warship would have a far greater impact, and those spectators on your side might just vanish!” Yang Bo laughed as he spoke!

Yang Bo’s words sent chills down the spines of those witnessing the conversation, especially the Fat Boss whose face turned pale. If the pirate leader made some unreasonable demands, all of them might disappear, and the Transport Ship too would be blown up.

After all, the military couldn’t risk losing a warship by negotiating with these pirates. If the pirates really managed to seize it, that would be a massive disaster.

“Yes, we’re pirates, but we’re not stupid. And even if I end up in jail longer, the rest of the brothers are just accomplices; they won’t be in for nearly as long. With some credit, they might not go to jail at all, just live under new identities!”

“Alright, that’s enough talking for now. Let’s settle the hostages first!”

After speaking, Yang Bo cut off communications and led a few pirates back to the Sports Arena.

The rest of the pirates who were stationed there saw the video recording and all looked at Yang Bo with excitement!

“Brothers, it’s not that I want to compromise. There are some tough guys on this Transport Ship. Just look at how many of our brothers aren’t here anymore!”

“And that idiot on the warship hasn’t figured out how dangerous it is on our side. If they knew how many of our people died, they definitely wouldn’t compromise easily!” Yang Bo’s behavior towards the pirates was partly to give himself a way out.

    “Boss!”

    “Boss!”

As expected, the pirates were visibly moved, though Yang Bo didn’t care whether it was genuine or not.

“I have a way out, so don’t worry. Even if I can’t escape, the worst that happens is I go to jail alone. Actually, in the Alliance, prison is just a lack of freedom. You’ll still eat and drink well, especially since I’m an A-Rank Evolver. My life won’t be bad there!” Yang Bo pretended to be enduringly sentimental.

“Don’t worry, Boss. We’ll take care of Sis!”

“Exactly, Sis will be looked after!”

“Good, good! You’re all good brothers!” Yang Bo hadn’t mentioned family earlier because he didn’t know whether the pirate leader had one. Now he just brushed through it with a few casual lines.

The hostages were bewildered. They had been guarded strictly just a moment ago, but now they were suddenly freed and told to live comfortably on the Transport Ship!

The pirates gathered amongst themselves and stayed away from the hostages because they were going to become informants. They couldn’t let others see what they really looked like.

The pirates’ minds were conflicted, but the hope of survival eased some of their pressure. However, they all faced legal consequences and were worried.

Soon, they realized their boss had disappeared!

The Transport Ship was so large, but no one knew where to look. Some speculated that the boss had already snuck off, or maybe he had changed identities!

Yang Bo seized the opportunity to use his Invisibility ability and slipped away, hiding in a remote cargo bay. He quietly waited for the fleet to arrive.

Looking at his skills, Yang Bo noted that his Mecha Piloting and Warship Repair had improved.

    Warship Repair: Advanced (420/1000)
    Mecha Piloting: Advanced (302/1000)

He had also acquired Warship Piloting, a skill given to him by the pirate leader. An A-Rank Genetic Evolver who could pilot warships was a rare and formidable force in human society.

    Warship Piloting: Intermediate (57/100)

Hiding in the cargo bay, Yang Bo didn’t plan to train his abilities, as training would leave traces.

Closing his eyes, Yang Bo reflected on his recent combat. He realized it felt great to be the ‘sixth man,’ especially when he crushed the pirate leader and then took down that Third Bro with ease. Either of these opponents would have been difficult to face head-on, and running away might have been his only option.

Yang Bo also assessed his abilities. While Invisibility was strong, using other skills would break it.

On the other hand, Camouflage, which seemed unimpressive at first, had become his most overpowered ability. After all, in Camouflage, his biological sample looked like someone else’s, while he could still use his own powers. Amazing!

“Could it be that since Camouflage reached Grandmaster level, Invisibility at Grandmaster level would allow me to walk through walls? That would be incredible!” Yang Bo thought to himself.

At the same time, Yang Bo reflected on his battles with other pirates. He realized that the pirates hadn’t been cautious enough. If they’d been more vigilant, he wouldn’t have succeeded so easily.

“No wonder Liu Zhijie said that a Genetic Evolver’s personal powers aren’t the most important—equipment is. Even with my abilities, I was only able to kill an A-Rank Evolver so easily thanks to my gear!” Yang Bo realized that in this technologically advanced society, equipment was everything. Even if you’re A-Rank, you’re nothing in front of a mech.

Starting tomorrow, updates will be posted at 7 a.m. daily. Thank you all!
