Chapter 93: Jin Gang-Class Main Battleship
by xennovelYang Bo and the others got off the maintenance vehicle and walked toward a passage under the staff’s direction.
First, they passed through an intelligent recognition system where their faces and eyes were scanned to confirm their identities, then received a card to hang around their necks.
They entered a decontamination system, which was like an air blower, but the wind contained substances to eliminate some of the radiation on their bodies.
Sometimes space transport ships need to destroy their cargo because after passing through high-radiation areas, the ship cannot block space radiation, causing cargo contamination.
After changing into new clothes, they followed the staff’s instructions and headed outside the passage.
Yang Bo and the others boarded a shuttle just over 50 meters long, five or six meters wide, and about the same height. It resembled ferries on Earth but was fully enclosed.
“Wow, what a huge warship!”
“This is our Alliance’s Jin Gang-class main battleship!”
“A main battleship! I wonder which fleet this belongs to!” As Yang Bo boarded the shuttle, he heard someone exclaim. He quickly sat and looked out of the small porthole at the black void. There were five massive warships, one of which was about eight to nine kilometers long. The others were also four to five kilometers long!
Unlike the flat transport ships, these warships resembled nails! Their diameters ranged between seven and eight hundred meters!
Even though these warships were much smaller than transport ships, their laser cannons, plasma cannons, and even planetary disintegration cannons were all incredibly powerful. Each warship also carried a large number of space fighters, both manned and unmanned.
Additionally, they carried varying numbers of advanced Mechs capable of fighting both in space and on the ground—these were not the kind of Mechs seen on the market today.
The Guard Squad on the transport ship only had eighth or ninth generation Mechs, whereas the Military supposedly had eighteenth or nineteenth generation Mechs!
Yang Bo didn’t know all of this before; he learned it from people around him.
“We’re actually boarding a warship?”
“I’m so excited! We’re actually going to step onto a warship!”
“Too bad we can’t take pictures. Otherwise, we could show our friends how cool this is!”
“Wait, why did the ship ahead go to the pirate warship?”
“Yeah, why did the ones with us go over there?” Yang Bo’s heart sank as he observed. “Could it be that I’ve been exposed?”
The shuttle was quite fast, but the distance between the transport ship and the warship was still tens of thousands of kilometers—warships generally maintained a safe perimeter.
Yang Bo wasn’t sure about the specifics, since the security perimeter was set based on different warship rankings.
Yang Bo realized their shuttle was the first to reach the warship, while the others headed toward the pirate warship.
Looking back, he saw that the second shuttle had also arrived, and he felt relieved, guessing it wasn’t targeting him.
A large entrance appeared on the warship, and the shuttle slowly entered the opening, docking beside a passage. Outside, robots connected bridge-like equipment to the shuttle’s hatch, and then the shuttle’s door opened.
Yang Bo followed the others, led by staff members, into the warship’s interior.
“Citizens, due to space constraints on the pirate warship, everyone will stay temporarily on our warship. Please remain quiet and stay in your current bay.”
“Do not roam freely. The rest of the ship is highly classified military territory. If citizens venture unauthorized, they may face investigation or even trial by the Judicial System and Military Court,” said an officer dressed in a Energy Suit.
Someone immediately asked, “How long until we reach March Planet?”
“We cannot disclose that because our fleet is on a secret mission. Once the mission is complete, the warship will send a special ship to take you home.” Even the officer’s face was hidden under the armor of his Energy Suit.
The surrounding soldiers were all dressed in battle suits, making it impossible to see what they looked like, or even tell who was male or female, though by their shapes it was clear some were women.
“What about the others? The ones on the pirate warship?” A person asked, growing concerned. After all, Military missions could be dangerous! “They’ll go to March Planet too, but they’ll be isolated until we arrive. Once our warship lands, you’ll all disembark together,” the officer explained.
“Their citizen rank is higher, so it’s inconvenient for them to come here. Nothing you see here has ever been shown to the public.” The officer continued.
Yang Bo suddenly understood. Individuals with chips aren’t allowed here. Their memory retention is too strong; they could easily remember soldier movements and possibly determine their identities.
Yang Bo wasn’t too bothered by this. In fact, the warship felt a lot safer. The pirate warship was in such poor condition, what if we run into more pirates? “Everyone, please head to your assigned rooms and remember not to wander around—you don’t want to cause any misunderstandings,” the officer concluded.
Yang Bo followed a soldier to his room. It was much smaller than the one on the transport ship—just a single bed, a desk with a computer, and a bathroom. That was it.
The warship was different. It had an anti-gravity system, meaning it had gravity similar to a planet.
Passenger ships had that too, but only high-end ones. This system supposedly consumed enormous energy and interfered with certain data, so it required extremely high-level configurations, though Yang Bo didn’t know the details—as a civilian, how could he remember all the specifics?
Everything in the room had magnetic properties—the cup on the desk was automatically fixed in place, probably to prevent it from moving if the anti-gravity system failed.
Although not as comfortable as the transport ship, Yang Bo felt incredibly relaxed. He felt totally safe on a warship like this. Forget pirates, they could even take on a planet if needed. This was humanity’s most powerful weapon, apart from the space carrier.
He bathed, soaking in hot water, waiting for their arrival. Yang Bo couldn’t be more content. Everything felt perfect.
“Once we reach March Planet, I’ll buy a house and settle down for a while.” Yang Bo didn’t really enjoy fighting; he much preferred a quiet, peaceful life. The wages here weren’t bad at all.
