Chapter Index

“What do you mean?” The Tiger-Faced King was intrigued. The tribe had its own mech modification plans, however they revolved around bio-mechs and energy suits.

Modifying a third-generation mech wasn’t an issue, mainly enhancing it with some extra attributes.

“King, you could consider it. Next time, we can tell this disaster star clearly. He could make money himself, and we can deal with the neighbors. Besides, just one disaster star won’t bring much help to the Alliance.”

“This disaster star’s behavior is strange; he’s nothing like those Alliance fools who immediately cause trouble. This guy is hated by everyone on the human side. If we boost his strength, he’ll be even more despised. Eventually, when his identity is exposed, you can save him and win him over to our side.”

The King was moved by this. Enhancing a third-gen mech with some special attributes wouldn’t be too costly. If this disaster star is hated by humans, he likely has serious personality issues—and alliances do have their share of heinous criminals.

Building a good relationship with him now could not only eliminate the neighbors, but if he ever fails in the Alliance, he could come join us.

“King, we should befriend him first, and gather some basic information. If that fails, we can frame him. The Alliance doesn’t know much about us, after all. We can easily frame him, send him to prison or something, and then rescue him later.”

“Many organizations in the Alliance do this kind of thing. They’ll do anything for money, and we have rare materials here. We’ve had dealings with these organizations before. Framing or saving a person is quite simple.” Tiger-Faced King’s subordinate continued…

“I’ll think about it,” muttered the Tiger-Faced King, clearly tempted.

Meanwhile, Yang Bo had no idea a group of mutants was plotting against him, and these mutants held complex identities.

But if Yang Bo knew, he might actually be happy. He felt no loyalty to the Alliance. Since he was already considering piracy as an escape, joining the mutants wouldn’t be so bad either.

With the Alliance’s current state, immigrants from other nations were looking quite appealing. Extreme organizations had infiltrated even the military. What was the Alliance coming to? Yang Bo didn’t know much about the upper echelons of the Alliance or its military structure.

Though he had mapped out all the nearby terrain, further exploration wasn’t feasible due to time constraints. Instead, he picked up valuable information by eavesdropping, especially details his previous civilian identity could never access.

“It’s somewhat similar to Ame on Earth. The Alliance’s planets are basically controlled by major families. In my last life, even the states of the American nation were influenced by families who managed everything within their territory.”

One day, while the guards were eating, Yang Bo used his invisibility to sneak into the mech and fighter hanger. When he had seen the fighter jets from the sky, they looked small; in reality, though, they were larger than Earth’s fighter planes.

The warship’s mechs and fighter jets were divided into manned and unmanned types.

The reason mechs and fighters needed human pilots was because of their relatively weak electronic defenses, weaker than those on warships.

It was a shame no one was using the devices at that moment. Yang Bo was tempted to touch them and see if he could gain access, but he decided against it. Time was running out, so he quickly left.

Upon reaching the cafeteria, Yang Bo noticed everyone standing together. A major general with golden stars on his shoulder was speaking.

When Yang Bo, still invisible, peeked at him, the major general unexpectedly turned towards his direction. Startled, Yang Bo quickly withdrew and hurried away.

“Sh*t!” Yang Bo hid nearby in a storage room near the passage guarded by soldiers, feeling his heart race. He almost got caught. He’s unsure if the major general possessed some kind of superpower, but the man had nearly seen through him.

“Sixth sense superpower? Or maybe Mind Control superpower?” Yang Bo couldn’t be certain. This world was vast, with many kinds of powers. Invisibility was strong, but there had to be counters to it.

“For this mission, everyone must remain cautious. In two days, we’ll enter the mission area. At that time, we’ll be on the highest alert, and no residents will be allowed outside.”

“Understood?” The major general continued addressing the soldiers in the cafeteria.

“Understood!” The soldiers responded in unison. Based on their outfits, there were mech warriors, fighter pilots, and various other personnel.

The warship was composed of independent units, each with its own backup systems. This way, even if a section of the warship was hit, the rest wouldn’t lose combat capabilities.

The warship’s length meant it was divided into independent operational units, from the energy supply systems to weapon systems. This prevented the entire ship from being paralyzed if one section was damaged.

Another advantage was that after a war, the damaged parts could be discarded, while the rest could be reassembled to maintain fighting capabilities.

After finishing his speech, the major general frowned slightly. He could’ve sworn he sensed something, but now there was nothing… Was the pressure of this mission getting to him?

The major general rubbed his temples as he thought about the upcoming mission. It was classified as an S-level secret, only one step below declaring war with another nation. He had no idea what the mission entailed; he had just been instructed to escort an item back to the Alliance’s top military research base.

“Could it be an S-class mutated creature?” The major general left the operations unit and headed for the next one, considering the mission and a sudden, wild idea popped into his head.

Though he was the commanding officer of this warship, he wasn’t the captain.

As for the feeling he had earlier about someone being present, the major general didn’t dwell on it.

The warship’s internal defense system was the most advanced mankind had, capable of detecting 100% of known energy forms.

Of course, it couldn’t detect unknown energy sources. Even a top-tier warship might be struck by unidentified forces while traveling through space.

It’s similar to Earth, where humans have many detection methods, yet sometimes they only notice an asteroid after it enters the atmosphere.

Why this happens is still unknown, but scientists continue to explore these mysteries.
