Chapter Index

When the broadcast went silent, Yang Bo felt like time had come to a standstill, similar to the feeling of sleep paralysis in a nightmare.

But in that instant, Yang Bo felt energy from another dimension flooding into the space, making the energy metals on the mecha seem even purer.

Even the energy suit inside seemed refined, becoming more connected to him. If their sync was 95% when he first bought it, it was now at least 99%.

The energy weapon felt the same…

“Can’t feel time?” As things returned to normal, Yang Bo frowned. How much time had passed? He was unsure—0.001 seconds? One second? A year? He had no sense of time.

Suddenly, the bay filled with blaring alarms, and a frantic voice echoed through the broadcast, “Ultimate alert! Ultimate alert!”

    ————————————————————————

Once the Jin Gang-class warship Yang Bo was on completed its space jump, an ear-piercing alarm rang out. The captain was startled, immediately activating the ultimate alert system.

“Reporting: Green Demon Planet is under pirate attack.”

“The planetary fleet has been ambushed by a Pirate Fleet, with losses exceeding sixty percent.”

“The planetary defense system is severely compromised; over eighty percent destroyed.”

“Mutants on the ground are attacking various outposts.”

“The main battleships of the planetary fleet are engaged in an S-class mission and cannot join the fight. Requesting backup.”

“We have over six thousand personnel missing.”

“The Pirate Fleet consists of thirteen warships.”

“Two Sea Wolf-class, five Sea Dog-class, and six Sea Fang-class…”

Within 0.1 seconds, the captain of Yang Bo’s warship received this information. The data flowed down the screen like a waterfall.

As the captain absorbed the info, he quickly issued a stream of orders. All 190 units of the warship received their assignments in under a second.

A faint glow appeared around the warship. This was the energy shield. The weapons from each unit began emerging smoothly from the warship’s sleek exterior.

The captain frowned. The energy consumption was huge after completing the warp jump. Thinking about the mission at hand, he quickly activated the energy stone system.

In an instant, the warship’s energy shield became more solid, and its weapons began to glow with energy.

Meanwhile, alarms blared inside the command rooms of thirteen pirate warships surrounding a lush green planet.

“What the ****!” In the Sea Wolf-class warship, the one-eyed commander cursed at the sudden appearance of a Jin Gang-class warship.

“What the ****! Damn it, why is the Alliance’s main fleet here?! What about the intel? What the **** is this Jin Gang-class warship doing here?” A pirate leader raged upon seeing the alert and the images being transmitted.

Then, a bald man appeared on the big screen: “One-Eye, you ****! This whole operation was your idea, your intel! You accepted the mission! You ** dog!”

“Bald Wang, you ***! I’ll put everything I own on the line…,” shouted One-Eye just as the alarms blared again because the distant Jin Gang-class fleet was now charging at full speed.

No one fired yet. Although laser weapons were powerful, in se with distances measured in millions of kilometers, they were of little use. At one million kilometers, even a laser beam would take over two seconds to reach its target, and warships in space could freely roll 360 degrees to dodge.

It might sound ridiculous, but space warships were a bit like old sailing ships, needing to get close enough to fire broadsides.

    “Damn it, we can’t escape!”

“What the ****! Don’t run!” One-Eye snarled as the Pirate Fleet started scattering, while glaring at the Alliance’s Jin Gang-class warship.

Just then, alarms blared again. A massive, solitary warship emerged from behind a distant asteroid.

“What the ****!” The pirates panicked at the sight of yet another Jin Gang-class warship. They had been scouring the area for the planetary main warship, but it had gone into hiding earlier.

“**** One-Eye!” The pirate channels erupted with curse-filled chatter.

Two seconds later, several Sea Fang-class pirate warships abandoned their energy shields and immediately fired up their thrusters, fleeing at full speed. They had been so arrogant earlier, but now they were utterly panicked.

Why not activate their energy shields? Because all their remaining energy was being used for thrusters. Besides, what good is a shield against a Jin Gang-class battleship?

It’s easy to accelerate in space, but hard to slow down. The pirate warships now faced an impossible choice—on one side was an entire fleet, including a Jin Gang-class warship, and on the other was just another Jin Gang-class ship.

Sea Wolf-class warships are just 5,000 meters long, while the Alliance’s Jin Shan-class ships are even bigger. Sea Dog-class ships are smaller still at only 2,000 meters, and most of the others aren’t even a kilometer long.

Sea Dog-class pirate vessels scattered, flying in all directions. The remaining warships of Green Demon’s planetary fleet immediately gave chase.

One-Eye and the Bald Man commanded their warships to charge directly at the lone Jin Gang-class warship.

Space warship battles are about quick passes, followed by direct firing. And because the speeds are insanely fast, there are usually only a few brief moments to actually fire, no more than a few seconds.

Yang Bo’s fleet, fresh out of the jump, suddenly volleyed lasers at the two Sea Wolf-class warships.

“You sons of *****!” Bald Man and One-Eye cursed loudly.

This was suppressing fire. Lasers are faster than warships, and if the calculations are right, those pirate ships wouldn’t be able to dodge. If they did, their speed would slow.

The two Sea Wolf-class ships were set on passing over the Jin Gang-class warship from above. Too far, and the enemy could move to evade.

But now, with suppressing laser fire from behind, dodging would be pointless—they were locked in combat with the Jin Gang-class ahead.

The captain of Yang Bo’s fleet now understood what was happening! The Green Demon planetary fleet had triggered an S-class mission event, which is why their fleet had received secret orders to come.

Meanwhile, the Green Demon fleet’s main warships, locked in the S-class mission, had to maintain complete silence and isolate themselves in the void.

While waiting for his fleet to arrive, the Pirate Fleet ambushed the Green Demon fleet. But the main battleships couldn’t break their silence due to the S-class mission.

The remaining planetary fleet was utterly crushed by the combined Pirate Fleet. Even the planetary defense system was almost completely destroyed. Just in time, his fleet managed to rendezvous with the Green Demon fleet’s main warship!

“Captain Wang, this wasn’t your fault. You don’t need to do this.” The woman on the screen spoke as the captain of Yang Bo’s fleet watched.
