Chapter Index

Somewhere in a dark cave, water dripped quietly, each drop echoing in the silent cavern.

It was as if nature itself were playing a mysterious symphony for this secluded place.

A cold, damp air filled the cave. Moss crept up the stone walls and the ground was littered with rocks and wild grass, creating a scene both desolate and mysterious.

Deep within the cave, Gu Xiaoyao sat cross-legged, a powerful aura radiating from his body.

His eyes were shut tight, breath steady, body relaxed as if he was one with the world around him.

He was trying to break through to the Sword Saint Realm—the most crucial step in his cultivation so far, one that would shape his future.

Gu Xiaoyao’s heart brimmed with desire for power and unrelenting dedication to his path.

He understood only by pushing past his own limits again and again could he reach greater heights and wield true strength.

Steadying his breath, he gathered every ounce of his energy, focusing his full attention.

He could feel his blood surging inside, a tide of energy building, ready to erupt.

All of a sudden, Gu Xiaoyao opened his eyes, determination flashing within them.

With a mighty shout, his aura burst out, sending a wave of energy surging through the cave.

Cracks ripped across the nearby rock walls. Even the water droplets evaporated in an instant.

His body felt unbelievably light, as if a gust of wind could sweep him away.

Gu Xiaoyao got to his feet, strength rolling off him, and with one palm strike flattened the mountain behind him.

“Hahaha, I did it! At twenty-one years old I’ve reached the first stage of Sword Saint Realm. With the Skydome Sword on my side, I could fight even a fifth-stage Sword Saint head-on!”

“Now, is there anyone in this world who can truly compare? The order of the land is about to change, hahaha!”

“It’s time to collect the Yin Sword and Mercy Sword from the Yin Yang Creation Technique. That treasure is simply too rare to ignore.”

He knew he’d broken through the Sword Saint Realm, now standing among the true elites, worthy to vie for the world.

Once he possessed the Mercy Sword, a divine weapon that could revive the dead irrespective of any cost, it would become the ultimate tool for survival, killing, and looting—a must-have for any journey.

A grin spread wide across Gu Xiaoyao’s face. He sat back down and closed his eyes, legs folded beneath him.

Then, by focusing on a pitch-black stone, he began to attune the Yin Yang Creation Technique to the Skydome Sword within his body.

    …………….

Xie Lingtian, Xie Jinxuan, and Xie Wanyi led ten million human soldiers, pushing through days and nights of travel to finally reach the heart of the continent—the Falling Star Plains.

There was no time to rest. They immediately jumped into intense war preparations, setting up multiple defensive lines using the natural terrain, getting ready for the Demons’ assault.

With ten million eyes watching, the shadowy forms of the Demon Race flickered along the plain’s edge.

They advanced with astounding speed, a thick shroud of black clouds trailing behind, weighing on everyone’s spirits.

Xie Jinxuan’s heart turned heavy, fully aware how dire the situation had become.

At once, he gave the order: “All soldiers, stay alert! Prepare to meet the enemy!”

In an instant, the ring of blades leaving their scabbards split the air, echoing across the Falling Star Plains.

Every face grew solemn, hands tightening around their weapons, ready to face life or death.

A shrill explosion shattered the tense silence—the Demons were sounding the charge, a roar straight from hell, deafening all who heard.

Five million elite demons surged onto the plains like a tidal wave, racing toward the human defenses.

The two armies faced off, fierce auras clashing in the sky, neither side making the first move, each glaring at the other like tigers ready to strike.

Xie Lingtian stood, staring down the Demons ahead, a voice booming: “Demon scum! You dare invade human lands—now you face your emperor. Why don’t you kneel and surrender?”

Bulu sneered. “Human Emperor, you? You’re not even worth kneeling to. Only our king deserves that. As for you, you’re not even close!”

“How dare you act so brazen on our land! Don’t think the Human Race is weak!” Sword in hand, Xie Jinxuan let loose his full power—a level-six Sword Emperor Realm—charging straight for Bulu.

Bulu watched him come, not a flicker of emotion on his face, maybe even a touch of mockery, as he unleashed his own might—first level of the Demon Saint Realm.

“Let me see what you’re really made of, human!”

Bulu gripped two massive Heaven-Splitting Axes, darting forward like a bolt of lightning, slamming the weapons down at Xie Jinxuan.

Xie Jinxuan twisted his wrist and blocked with his sword. Axe and blade clashed with a shower of sparks.

The two broke apart at once. Bulu eyed Xie Jinxuan with interest. “Who are you, boy? Tell me your name—I don’t kill nobodies.”

Xie Jinxuan swung his blade. “Remember this—I’m the human commander, Crown Prince of Jianwu Dynasty, Xie Jinxuan—the one who will kill you!”

“Well! A human commander and a prince, no less! Listen up, the name’s Bulu—the one leading this army today!” Bulu raised his axes and launched his next onslaught.

The battle only intensified. Neither fighter could gain the upper hand—a deadlock, each blow answered in kind.

Bulu couldn’t hide his surprise. He knew Xie Jinxuan looked weaker, so how could he keep pace with him strike for strike?

But there was no time to question it. Channeling enormous demon power into his axes, Bulu’s arm bulged with raw force.

“Xie Jinxuan, enough of these games. Your life ends now!”

    “Demonic Blaze Twin Drill!”

Bulu’s body swelled, leaping high. Both axes burst with black flames, spinning like twin drills as he drove straight for Xie Jinxuan’s head.

Xie Jinxuan’s lips curled in a cool smile, calm as ever. He pulled out a Heaven and Earth Shield, activating its protection around himself.

Sword at the ready, he waited as Bulu’s fiery axes crashed into the shield. Sparks flew, the shield groaned under the assault.

As cracks opened in the barrier, Bulu laughed, “Hiding in a turtle shell, huh? It’ll break all the same! Die!”

With a powerful heave, Bulu smashed apart the shield. But his grin froze as a sword pierced his chest.

In that instant, he felt his cultivation drop by an entire realm. Pain tore him from his shock, snapping him back to reality.

Through clenched teeth Bulu growled, “You brat—what did you do? How did my cultivation just fall an entire realm?”

“No, wait—that shield is the problem! It actually weakened me—damn it!”

Xie Jinxuan only shook his head, a faint smile on his lips. “Figure it out, did you? Not too dumb, after all. Shame it’s too late. In your next life, pay attention.”

Under Bulu’s stunned stare, Xie Jinxuan whipped the blade from his chest, spun in a single smooth motion, and, as cool as a breeze, slit Bulu’s throat before sheathing his sword.

Bulu crashed to the ground, clutching his bleeding neck. “You damn—”

With his last breath, Bulu died, glaring in disbelief. Five million elite demons watched helplessly as their marshal fell. Rage twisted their faces.

Two demon lords in black and white robes stepped out and cursed at Bulu’s corpse. “Bulu, Miss Molly was right—you’re all muscle, no brains!”

“Since the marshal’s dead, my brother and I will take command! All troops, follow us—bring us the human emperor’s head to present to our king!”

Five million demons formed up behind the twins, flooding across the sky like a living storm, their monstrous forms blocking out the sun.

They hurtled toward Xie Lingtian’s position. The human soldiers, seeing things take a turn, drew swords and charged. The armies collided, and soon blood ran everywhere, corpses piling high.

Where once the grass was lush and green, now the thick scent of blood ruled. The Demons boasted two demon lords, and the humans began to falter, forces pushed back again and again.

Xie Lingtian rose, voice ringing sharp and clear: “Demons, you dare violate human lands and insult your emperor? I am ruler of the Sword Qi Continent and today, you’ll all die!”

He drew his Imperial Sword. With one swing, a dragon’s roar shook the world. A dazzling golden dragon appeared out of thin air, alive as anything, and lunged at the demons.

Everywhere it went, the Demon Race was obliterated, their bodies scattered like ash.

The twin demon lords realized things were bad. With a look between them, they leapt to attack the dragon together.

Both struck at once, but they had gravely underestimated the beast. The dragon opened its mouth wide and swallowed them whole.

With a single furious roar, both were erased—humiliated and defeated in an instant.

Leaderless, the Demons broke ranks and scattered, panic fleeing in every direction.

Xie Lingtian swept a hand, calm as ever. “Human soldiers, hear your emperor! Attack! Leave none of these invaders alive!”

Xie Jinxuan charged into the fray, leading the surviving human armies in pursuit of the fleeing demons. Within moments, the Demons, who’d already lost the will to fight, fell like targets one after another.

Corpses piled across the Falling Star Plains, a grisly mountain of fallen demons. A few tried to resist, but each time, a cold spear struck them down without mercy.

In the end, the last demon soldier, exhausted and desperate, was run through by a human cavalier and collapsed without a sound.

On the afternoon of March 20th, in the eighth millennium, Year One of Sword Qi,

The battle claimed two million human casualties but annihilated five million elite demons and two mighty demon lords. In the end, humanity had won the Battle of the Falling Star Plains.

With victory secured, Xie Lingtian led his troops south, preparing to intercept Kasa and clash with his mighty legion.
