Chapter 184: Whoever Blocks Me Shall Die
by xennovelDahuang’s eyes lit up with sudden understanding, a wide grin spreading across his face. “You’re right, Master! How did I not think of that? Let’s head down right away!”
“Hm…” Gu Qingyi gave a slight nod in response.
“Whoosh!”
Dahuang transformed into a blur of motion, eager to be the first to dive into the murky Black Water below.
“Boom!”
Without warning, a massive crimson hand erupted from the Black Water, seizing Dahuang in a vice-like grip!
Gu Qingyi’s pupils narrowed at the sight, his brow furrowing. “What in the world is this thing?”
“Master, save me!” Dahuang thrashed in panic, his voice trembling with fear.
Gu Qingyi raised a hand, his fingers forming a sword gesture. With a swift motion, he unleashed a blinding slash of sword light aimed straight at the crimson hand.
“Bang!”
The sword light carved a deep gash into the crimson hand, drawing a sharp cry of pain from its unseen owner.
“Ouch!”
The hand released Dahuang in an instant, retreating back into the dark depths of the Black Water.
Freed at last, Dahuang darted to Gu Qingyi’s side with a flash, panting heavily as relief washed over him.
“Master, that was too close! This Black Water looks dangerous, and guess what? It really isn’t safe!”
“The owner of that hand will likely come looking for trouble soon enough.”
“Hm, it’s already here.”
“What? Master, what are you talking about?”
“You mentioned the owner of that hand. Well, it’s emerged—and there are two of them.”
“What?!” Dahuang’s heart jolted as if struck by lightning.
His body quivered, fur standing on end. Eyes wide with dread, he whipped his head around to look behind him.
When he finally caught sight of the two enormous figures, his trembling intensified, his body swaying like a leaf caught in a storm.
He quickly ducked behind Gu Qingyi for safety.
There, standing firmly atop the inky surface of the Black Water, were two spine-chilling entities—Outer Demons!
One of them bore a deep crimson hue, six massive wings unfurling from its back, each radiating a terrifying and oppressive aura.
The other, a ghostly blue, had only three wings, yet it exuded an undeniable sense of majesty and menace.
“Who dares to trespass here? Do you not fear death?” The Six-Winged Demon glared with fiery eyes, its gaping maw unleashing a deafening roar.
The sound rolled like thunder, shaking the very air and sending tremors through the surrounding space.
At the same time, the Three-Winged Demon barked harshly. “Insolent fools! State your names at once, or don’t blame us for showing no mercy!”
A faint smirk curled on Gu Qingyi’s lips. “Oh? You wish to know my name? Very well, I’ll indulge you.”
“I am Gu Qingyi, Sword God of the Human Race!”
His voice wasn’t loud, yet it carried a commanding clarity, resonating with unshakable authority and confidence in every ear present.
At those words, the expressions of the two demons darkened, a flicker of shock passing through their eyes.
They clearly hadn’t expected this seemingly ordinary human to bear such a significant title.
Almost in unison, their suspicious gazes swept over Gu Qingyi, searching for any sign of weakness or deceit.
Yet after a thorough inspection, both demons concluded that his words held truth.
Exchanging a quick glance, sly grins crept across their faces.
The crimson Six-Winged Demon took a step forward, its voice booming like a bell. “Hmph! A mere human daring to intrude here? I’ll admit, you’ve got some skill.”
“I am the Six-Winged Demon of the Outer Demons, known as Corruption—the Fallen Demon!”
Its voice reverberated powerfully, causing the surrounding air to quiver slightly.
Not to be outdone, the Three-Winged Demon stepped up with a hearty laugh. “Haha, and don’t forget me!”
“I too hail from the Outerworld Fiends, a Three-Winged Demon named Greed—the Heavenly Demon of Greed!”
“Today marks the end of your life at the Yellow Springs!”
Before its words could fully settle…
The Fallen Demon surged forward, pointing a menacing finger at Gu Qingyi with a vicious snarl. “Human, state your true purpose for coming here! If you fail to give a satisfactory answer…”
“Don’t blame me for casting you into Blackwater Prison, where you’ll suffer for eternity!”
A suffocating aura radiated from the Fallen Demon, as if it might strike at any moment.
Gu Qingyi couldn’t hold back a laugh, covering his face in disbelief. “You harmed my mother and imprisoned my father, yet you dare ask why I’m here? You’ve already courted your own demise!”
“Today, I’ll sever your heads to vent the fury in my heart!”
Enraged by his words, the Fallen Demon and the Heavenly Demon of Greed trembled with anger, their fury almost palpable.
“Ignorant human, how dare you speak such nonsense! Are you truly seeking death?” The Fallen Demon roared in outrage.
“Corruption, no need for words. Let’s kill him together!” A murderous glint flashed in the Heavenly Demon of Greed’s eyes.
“Agreed!” The Fallen Demon nodded sharply.
In an instant, two terrifying auras surged outward, spreading in all directions. The entire expanse of Black Water began to boil violently.
Both Corruption and Greed raised their hands simultaneously, launching a ferocious assault toward Gu Qingyi.
Gu Qingyi let out a fierce shout. “Whoever blocks me shall die!”
As his words echoed, a radiant golden light erupted from his body. Behind him, a dazzling rose-gold Divine Disc materialized, hovering ominously.
A devastating shockwave burst forth from him, sweeping across the area with unstoppable force.
Caught off guard, the Heavenly Demon of Greed took the full brunt of the powerful shockwave head-on.
“Argh!” A pained scream tore from the Heavenly Demon of Greed as it was hurled backward with tremendous force.
“What?!” The Fallen Demon’s eyes widened in shock, its body freezing mid-motion.
“Bang!”
The Heavenly Demon of Greed’s form crashed into the Black Water with a thunderous splash.
Seeing this, the Fallen Demon clenched its fists, a surge of aura exploding from its body. The clash of their powerful energies canceled each other out.
Staring at Gu Qingyi, who now hovered in the air before it, a savage gleam flickered in the Fallen Demon’s eyes. Raising both arms high, it bellowed, “Human, you’ve truly enraged me! Today, I’ll show you the power of Corruption!”
“Blackwater Cage!”
In the blink of an eye, as its words fell, the vast expanse of Black Water surged with terrifying speed, condensing into thousands of shadowy cages exuding dark energy!
Gu Qingyi gazed at the thousands of cages before him, his expression unchanging. If anything, a faint smirk tugged at his lips.
“Interesting! But to force me to draw my sword, you can die without regrets. Sword, come!”
As his command rang out, a colossal Golden Greatsword descended from the heavens, hurtling straight toward the fallen Heavenly Demon of Greed in the Black Water.
“Swoosh!”
The sword carried boundless might, narrowly grazing past the Fallen Demon as it sped forward.
“Not good!” The Fallen Demon’s face twisted in alarm, shouting urgently. “Greed, dodge that sword now!”
“What?!” The Heavenly Demon of Greed reacted too late. Looking up, it saw the Golden Greatsword bearing down on it.
But it was already too late to evade. The Golden Greatsword pierced straight through the Heavenly Demon of Greed.
“Boom!”
The Heavenly Demon of Greed’s body exploded on impact, unleashing a massive shockwave in its wake.
The entire stretch of Black Water evaporated in an instant under the blast.
“No! Greed!!” The Fallen Demon reached out desperately toward the spot where the Heavenly Demon of Greed had perished.
“Swoosh!”
A flash of sword light streaked past the Fallen Demon’s neck. A head filled with shock and disbelief tumbled straight down into the now-dry bed of Black Water.
“Bang!”
The headless body of the Fallen Demon followed suit, collapsing heavily onto the ground.
Gu Qingyi gazed at the obliterated remains of the Heavenly Demon of Greed and the unseeing eyes of the Fallen Demon. His face betrayed no emotion as he sheathed the Skydome Sword.
He knew exactly why these two formidable demons had fallen so easily.
There were two reasons.
First, they had grossly underestimated him, not even bothering to unleash their true power. Relying solely on brute strength, they were, in a word, foolish!
Second, both bore old wounds, which made it far easier for him to strike them down with such swift precision!
As the Heavenly Demon of Greed and the Fallen Demon perished, a hidden passage opened at the former site of the Black Water.
This passage was none other than the entrance and exit to Blackwater Prison.
