Chapter 200: Grand Finale: The Magnificent Wedding
by xennovelXuanyuan Lingxue was still wandering around the palace when she happened to bump into Nangong Lin, who’d just returned from the bamboo grove.
“Who are you, and why are you here?” Nangong Lin eyed Xuanyuan Lingxue warily.
Xuanyuan Lingxue didn’t answer right away. Instead, a small smile tugged at her lips as she reached out and grabbed Nangong Lin by the shoulders, giving her a thorough once-over from head to toe.
“Not bad! Great figure, beautiful face and your cultivation’s impressive too. You’re more than worthy of my little Qingyi!”
With a look of genuine appreciation, Xuanyuan Lingxue reached out to gently pat Nangong Lin’s head.
Nangong Lin stared at Xuanyuan Lingxue, whose motives were a complete mystery, her expression darkening. “Who exactly are you? And who is this ‘little Qingyi’ you keep talking about?”
“Me?…” Xuanyuan Lingxue hesitated, just about to explain.
“Master!”
A figure suddenly rushed in.
Upon hearing the voice, both Nangong Lin and Xuanyuan Lingxue turned their heads at the same time.
“Ah!” Gu Qingyi paused, scratched his head and spoke calmly, “So Lian’er, you’re finally awake. Let me introduce—”
Before he could finish…
“Hi, I’m Xuanyuan Lingxue!” Xuanyuan Lingxue blurted out.
“Hello, I’m Nangong Lin. But why does my husband call you Master?” Nangong Lin frowned, thoroughly confused as she looked at Xuanyuan Lingxue.
Standing off to the side, Gu Qingyi couldn’t stop grinning the moment he heard Nangong Lin refer to him as her husband.
He dashed forward and swept Nangong Lin into a big hug, shouting with joy, “Lian’er, you finally called me your husband!!”
“Hey! Aren’t you going to tell me what’s going on right now?” Nangong Lin muttered.
Gu Qingyi was about to explain, but Xuanyuan Lingxue cut in before he could get a word out.
Xuanyuan Lingxue launched straight into recounting everything that had happened over the years, from start to finish.
Nangong Lin listened in shock and quickly bowed to Xuanyuan Lingxue.
“Junior Nangong Lin greets Senior Xuanyuan!”
“No need for that!” Xuanyuan Lingxue quickly helped her up, a fond smile on her face.
“Such a sweet girl. The more I look at you, the more I like you. Why don’t I make the call and have you two get married in the next couple days? I could even help look after your kids!”
“Ah!” Nangong Lin froze, scratching her head and whispering, “But my father doesn’t even know yet… Is that really okay…?”
Just then, a cheery voice rang out: “Big Brother! We have a new little sister—her name is Gu Xian’er!”
Nangong Lin, Gu Qingyi and Xuanyuan Lingxue all turned around at the same time.
They saw Gu Qingxiao racing inside with an adorable infant, chubby cheeks and delicate features, cradled in her arms.
Right behind her were two more figures.
It was Gu Ran and Shen Yue, a married couple, who had successfully refined the Jade Essence and become the Jade Sword God.
“Haha, son, I heard from afar that you and Lian’er are looking to get married!” Gu Ran called out.
Shen Yue laughed, eyes shining with excitement. “This is wonderful. Why wait a few days? Tomorrow’s a great day—how about we do it then?”
Immediately, everyone gathered around Nangong Lin, urging her to agree. She blushed so red she looked like a teapot about to boil over, her brain completely shutting down.
“Okay…” Nangong Lin mumbled hazily, not quite sure how she’d just agreed to sell herself.
……
Then, two joyful announcements echoed across the entire God Realm.
First: Gu Qingyi had become the Eternal Sword God!
Second: Gu Qingyi and Nangong Lin would be holding a truly grand wedding the very next day!
As soon as the God Realm heard the news, the whole realm fell into a frenzy, with everyone eager to share in the happiness.
“Little Ruyu, your godmother works fast. She says a word and the next thing you know, there’s a wedding!” Liu Ruyan looked up at the sky, cradling Yan Ruyu.
“Sigh, daughters always end up marrying someday.” Nangong Wentian gazed upward, letting out a long sigh.
Before she knew it, Nangong Lin blinked and found herself back in Heavenly Martial Sacred Land.
She understood better than anyone how meaningful this wedding would be. Every detail needed special attention to live up to everyone’s expectations.
Without a moment’s rest, she dove into preparations, directing everyone to set up the venue and arrange the ceremony.
Time flew by, the night slipped away without anyone sleeping. At last, dawn broke—the day of the wedding had arrived.
The morning sun bathed the land in golden light, painting the entire God Realm with a radiant glow.
In that moment, everyone was filled with excitement and anticipation, all waiting for the big moment to arrive.
“The hour has come! Let the wedding begin!”
A booming shout rolled out like thunder, echoing through the entire God Realm!
Instantly, the skies changed color. Brilliant rays of light gathered from every direction, bursting into a dazzling, colorful sea overhead.
With that shout, beams of rainbow light crashed down from the heavens, spectacular and vivid as any dream.
Then peach blossom petals fluttered through the sky, drifting down like pink snow, graceful and light.
In no time, the whole God Realm was wrapped in joy and harmony.
Every home hung with bright red banners and festive ribbons, proudly celebrating the union of the two newlyweds.
Elegant music swirled through the air, heavenly tunes rising and falling, completely mesmerizing everyone lucky enough to hear them.
Just then, endless lengths of bright red carpet stretched forth, winding like living crimson dragons.
From the towering heights of Divine Sword Mountain, the carpets unfurled like roaring waterfalls, flowing all the way down to the Heavenly Martial Sacred Land at the foot of the mountain.
Only at the door of Nangong Lin’s boudoir did they come to a halt, the majestic sight enough to steal the breath from anyone watching.
Nangong Lin stood crowned with a phoenix diadem, veil hiding her face, draped in magnificent wedding robes that billowed for thousands of feet behind her. Proud and graceful, she radiated an elegant aura.
With Nangong Wentian at her side, she walked with measured steps onto the red carpet, heading toward her happiness.
Under the gaze of everyone in the God Realm, a figure suddenly appeared upon the carpet, dressed in splendid wedding finery.
This was the star of today’s glorious wedding—Gu Qingyi!
As he appeared, excitement swept through the God Realm once again.
“Sorry to keep you waiting, my love!” Gu Qingyi was just reaching out to hold Nangong Lin’s delicate hand.
“Wait!” Nangong Wentian raised his hand, stopping Nangong Lin in her tracks.
“Father, why?” Nangong Lin blinked, puzzled, turning to her father.
Nangong Wentian didn’t answer, instead fixing his gaze on Gu Qingyi and lowering his voice.
“Gu Qingyi, remember this: if I ever find out you’ve wronged Lian’er, even if you’re the Eternal Sword God, I’ll see justice done for my daughter!”
“You have my word, Father-in-law! Today, in front of all life in the God Realm, I swear an oath!”
Gu Qingyi waved his hand, and the projection of the ceremony shone across the skies of the God Realm!
He paused, his voice loud as a bell.
“Today, I, Gu Qingyi, swear before all living things in the God Realm!”
“If I ever betray Nangong Lin, I will shatter my divine soul—let the heavens and all life bear witness!”
“And there’s one more thing. Xie Jinxuan, I know you’re watching. The promise we made—I’ve fulfilled it for you!”
Somewhere in the God Realm, a hidden figure smiled at those words, then quietly disappeared.
Gu Qingyi paused for a moment, met Nangong Lin’s gaze, and continued:
“This is a wedding for the ages. There will never be another like it!”
“Today, my wedding gift is this—the Eternal Sword, holding half the power of the Eternal Sword God!”
As his words fell, a sword radiating endless, ever-changing might appeared in Gu Qingyi’s hand.
“This sword was once the Skydome Sword. It’s witnessed all our beautiful memories. Now, I gift the Eternal Sword to my wife—Nangong Lin!”
As the vow was spoken, Nangong Lin felt a sudden heat on her left arm. Lifting her sleeve, she discovered the image of the Eternal Sword etched there, vivid and lifelike.
“You big dummy.” Tears spilled from Nangong Lin’s eyes as she threw her arms around Gu Qingyi.
“Don’t cry, or it’ll break my heart,” Gu Qingyi whispered, gently wiping the tears from her cheeks.
“Husband, I’m so lucky to have found you in this life.”
“No matter how vast the world, wherever you are, my love, that’s home.”
