Twists and Turns

Jiang Ping thought the Ant King was guaranteed victory, but Gai Feng’s final attack was unexpectedly terrifying. However, the Ant King outsmarted everyone, escaping disaster even after the strongest of humanity fell.

Little did he know, humanity still had this massive trump card! Upon closer inspection, Jiang Ping realized that this alchemical nuclear bomb was likely hastily created by the Ant King during his conquests—a test model at best, otherwise its destructive power would be even greater! With his gaze on the battlefield, he wondered if the Ant King’s indestructible golden body could withstand such an attack. Smoke filled the air, making the entire battlefield a cloudy expanse.

Strong warriors from deep within the continent couldn’t help but use wind techniques to clear the white smoke.

Wherever he looked, all he saw were blackened remnants—these were the corpses of onlookers piled high!

In the center of the battlefield appeared an unfathomable giant pit.

The pit measured at least a hundred meters wide, and its depths were inscrutable, occasionally spewing forth bubbling magma.

“Where’s the Ant King?” a human warrior pressed.

“Alive or dead, we must see the Ant’s body!”

The many arriving warriors of various races couldn’t afford to dwell on the tragedy of the onlookers. Their priority was to locate any trace of the Ant King.

Even if such a legendary figure as the Ant King had perished, there would still be remnants left behind! There couldn’t be no trace at all.

Deep within the ocean, the black ant tribe also began to counterattack. They too were in search of their king’s whereabouts!

Suddenly, a fierce battle erupted on the battlefield as warriors from various races clashed with the ant army; everyone desperately wanted to be the first to uncover the Ant King’s remains.

Was the Ant King truly dead? This determined the fate of all races! Jiang Ping, watching from outside, felt anxious and quickly cheated to glimpse the truth. And once he looked, he silently cursed.

    “Humanity is doomed.”

With a whoosh! A pair of claws dug into the molten rock. A small figure crawled out of the deep pit and leapt into the fray.

A deathly silence fell over the scene!

In the uproarious battlefield, one could hear a pin drop. The Ant King’s body was only 50 centimeters tall; no one knew how many corpses had been obliterated by his earlier attack. That unassuming figure made everyone tremble.

The Ant King was now too weak to fly! This thought suddenly struck many races, and in an instant, dozens of powerful warriors targeted the newly reborn Ant King.

The Ant King shot a cold glance, his hands moving through the air, unleashing attacks that turned the incoming warriors to dust mid-flight.

“This king may be temporarily weakened, but that doesn’t mean you’re stronger!”

With blood-red eyes scanning the chaotic battlefield, he commanded, “Ant warriors, charge! Devour all races, annihilate everything! This farce must end!”

From behind, countless waves of black surged forth. The warriors of various races felt despair; they looked helplessly to the sky. This time, miracles had not come. The Original World stepped into a new chapter.

Jiang Ping sighed and withdrew his gaze, flipping open the Genesis in his hands.

On the second page, it detailed the Original History. In this new age, the Ant King led the Devouring Ants to sweep through the world. Gai Feng, the strongest of humanity, wielded the lost artifact, the Spear of Destiny, and faced the mighty Ant King in a decisive battle at the Central Ancestral Land.

The two clashed three times; Gai Feng fell, the Stone of Truth shattered, its fragments scattered across the corners of the world, and the Ant King was severely injured by humanity’s secret weapon, the ‘Light of Salvation.’

The Devouring Ants invaded the Central Ancestral Land, beginning a bloody massacre. The children of the Creator were wiped out; humanity was exterminated, and all things fell silent. The world no longer held any trace of the various races.

Looking at the Genesis record, Jiang Ping genuinely lamented, “The Devouring Ants are truly against the heavens!”

Despite having great hopes for humanity and bestowing them three great treasures, in ancient times, the Stone of Truth had already been stolen by the Ant Queen, sealing the fate of this century-long war.

“Such a combative little creature! The world now crawls at your feet, with all races nearly exterminated. What’s next for you?”

Jiang Ping couldn’t help but smile wryly. With a snap, he closed the book and stretched his limbs.

This great war had finally come to an end. The Original World moved into the chapter of the Devouring Ants, and he needed to head out to eat.

With that in mind, Jiang Ping stepped out in search of food. Meanwhile, as he departed, the Devouring Ants roared triumphantly across the Original World.

The last untainted land of the various races was breached. Rivers ran red with blood; words could scarcely describe the scene of carnage. Soon after, this continent saw no sign of life.

Aside from the black swarm of ant warriors brutally dragging the corpses of the various races, the largest continent in the world held no other creatures.

After the battle concluded, the Ant King immediately announced his retreat into seclusion. The Ant Queens understood that the Ant King, Beou, was severely injured in the final battle—he had even shattered the Stone of Truth, and it was clear he wasn’t as indifferent as he appeared!

Before retreating, the Ant King declared a death order: he must gather all fragments of the Stone of Truth, from the highest heavens to the depths of the earth!

Then he took the Spear of Destiny and locked himself away.

No one expected the Ant King’s seclusion would stretch this long. A century passed swiftly, and over the years, silhouettes of the Devouring Ants could be seen in every corner of the Original World. The population of the Devouring Ant tribe surpassed a trillion! High in the skies, deep in the earth, and in the endless ocean trenches, even the last remnants of living organisms were completely wiped out!

The Devouring Ants were indeed the number one race in the world!

Because all other foreign races had been exterminated! Across the continent, vibrant green life vanished, replaced by endless stretches of Death Desert.

The source of life, the endless ocean, was also stained by the Devouring Ants. The life-sustaining substances in the ocean had been thoroughly consumed, resulting in a breakdown of the world’s cycle!

The sea began to emit a foul, fishy odor, so pervasive even the Devouring Ants found it repulsive! The surrounding ocean turned pitch black, far more putrid than a cesspool.

The coastal regions were particularly horrendous—acidic green waves occasionally erupted with poisonous bubbles, causing large groups of ant warriors to perish.

The once blue sky was now gray; only the flying ants occasionally darted across, and there were no other birds in sight.

One Ant Queen looked worriedly over the world. These years, the Devouring Ants had consumed everything, and she could sense a growing dissonance in the world’s sounds; the cycle of the entire world was in turmoil!

In recent years, after exterminating all life, the tribe began to stagnate. They couldn’t suppress their instincts, leading to self-harm among some groups—fighting each other and then devouring those they defeated.

Eventually, after a century of seclusion, the Ant King emerged. During this time, broken pieces of the Stone of Truth were recovered by the ant tribe from various locations. The Ant King reforged the Stone of Truth and completely refined the Spear of Destiny!

Now, the once silver spear had transformed into the black Death Lance, and the injuries on the Ant King had vanished. His two-meter-tall form appeared exceptionally imposing.

“Congratulations to the most revered, most sacred king in the world!”

After a flurry of flattery, an Ant Queen advised, “King, for years our tribe has dominated the world. However, as we have exterminated all life, the world’s cycle has collapsed. In recent years the world has lost its previous vitality.

Our tribe has begun to harm itself! If this continues, we may very well face the path of extinction!”

The Ant King sat upon his throne of bones, gently caressing the spear in his hand, noncommittal as he let the Ant Queen continue speaking.

“In my view, our tribe should cultivate a special region, utilizing human gene technology to raise various species, thus preserving the survival of all things and maintaining the balance of the world.”

The Ant King replied, “Now our population has grown to over a trillion. Isn’t it great for us to kill each other? The stronger become stronger, while the weak are eradicated! Only the strongest will remain!”

The Ant Queen gasped, never imagining the Ant King would be this ruthless towards his own tribe!

With that order, hundreds of billions of tribesmen perished due to internecine strife!

She quickly argued, “King, this merely addresses the symptoms, not the root cause. The cycle of the world has been disrupted. This is nothing but a ploy to delay the inevitable!”

    “Hmm?”

The Ant King’s displeasure made the air chill to zero. The hairs on all ant queens stood on end.

Pointing at the artifact in his hand, he asked,

“Do you even know what this is?”
