Chapter 6: The God of Creation
by xennovelBy now, darkness had descended. Genesis housed over a hundred kinds of magical creatures, but despite their numbers, only a few were truly powerful. The Western Dragons were among the strongest.
As Genesis explained, these magical creatures were just physically stronger than ordinary beings; their innate extraordinary power was still limited. If Jiang Ping was willing to invest a significant amount of points, he could genuinely recreate the monsters from the stories.
Having spent the entire day absorbed in creating life, Jiang Ping suddenly remembered to check on the developments in the Original World. After millions of years of growth, the Original World burst with vitality, almost radiating with light.
In the ocean, the third-generation overlord measured 40 meters long, its head adorned with white sharp horns and its fins razor-sharp. It combined the strengths of its two predecessors, merging power and offense into one.
Not only that, but Jiang Ping also discovered that the third-generation overlord could now instinctively absorb spiritual energy, rudimentarily applying it in attacks.
“Very good! Not content with mere physical attacks, it’s beginning to evolve magical attacks,” Jiang Ping said with satisfaction, naming it: Dragon King Beast!
“The Dragon King Beast is just living the good life right now, but soon enough, it’ll have a rude awakening,” Jiang Ping chuckled at the full-bellied Dragon King Beast.
Switching perspectives, Jiang Ping looked towards the continent. Unrestricted by seawater, it developed faster, showcasing a giant beast averaging 8 meters in height, its body covered in metallic scales, resembling an ancient saber-toothed tiger.
He named this enormous creature: Heavenly Tiger. The Heavenly Tiger boasted balanced offensive and defensive capabilities and exceptional reproductive abilities. It also understood how to absorb spiritual energy and had fangs that could easily gnaw through rock.
At this moment, the sky was occupied by a three-meter-tall giant bird.
“We can start investing in magical creatures now,” Jiang Ping said with a smile, observing the flourishing life in the Original World.
Many creatures had begun to show rudimentary awareness this time. Jiang Ping planned to make a grander entrance than before.
“Entering Creation God mode!” Jiang Ping declared seriously. With that, he took a step forward, beginning his descent into the Original World.
“Boom!” The entire Original World trembled, the solid, indestructible world crystal wall rippling.
It was as if the world sensed its creator’s arrival. The sky blazed with colorful radiance to welcome Jiang Ping.
Below, the giant beasts seemed to sense an incredible presence approaching and ran restlessly, trying to find a corner to hide. Even the earth’s overlord, the Heavenly Tiger, was frantically fleeing. A massive herd of beasts surged as waves.
The ocean boiled with excitement, purple mist rising and spreading for thousands of miles! Countless small creatures, resembling fish and shrimp, leaped from the water, while the Dragon King Beast, in panic, sought refuge in the deep sea.
The central giant tree, regrowing to its nine-thousand-meter limit, seemed to sense something and began to tremble, its countless branches swaying skyward.
A towering light, the God of Creation, descended upon the world! As he arrived, the fabric of space-time twisted, as if time itself could not leave a mark on him. An endless aura of fortune radiated around him, causing the entire world to rejoice at his arrival.
The beasts closest to Jiang Ping froze as if someone had pressed the pause button, lying flat on the ground without moving, afraid even to absorb the rare spiritual energy around them.
On the continent, with Jiang Ping’s emergence, giant beasts instinctively knelt in worship, as if this figure was etched into their genes, urging them to kneel.
The sky’s giant birds also returned to the ground, showing respect to this presence. In the ocean, massive creatures surfaced, their large eyes trembling, unable to meet the gaze of this god of light.
All beasts bowed down!
The world trembled!
What does reputation mean? What does presence mean? Jiang Ping gazed at his grand entrance with satisfaction. However, he did not forget his true purpose for descending into the Original World.
With a wave of his hand, countless beams of light descended upon various parts of the continent.
Boom! Boom! One giant egg after another fell into the depths of the ocean. These were all magical creatures Jiang Ping created at a great cost, destined to bring even more legends and wisdom to this world!
After doing all this, Jiang Ping turned his gaze to the central tree, which suddenly began to tremble.
Within the soul of the central tree emerged a grand consciousness: “The weak beings lying at your feet, you take care of them quietly, only stepping in during a crisis. Otherwise, let them live free.”
Though the central tree had not yet attained high intelligence, nearly a billion years of existence had not been in vain; it now possessed the equivalent wisdom of a human child.
“The God of Creation seems to want me to protect these little beings that have just appeared while refraining from interference,” the central tree pondered, glancing down curiously.
Beneath the towering tree, ten thousand naked ape-like creatures, sparse black hair covering their bodies, looked bewildered at this vast world and the magnificent tree behind them.
At this point, Jiang Ping had already returned to reality. Not only had he introduced powerful creatures, but he also deployed intelligent ape-like beings to see what surprises they would bring him in the future.
Looking at the 20 points spent on the released creatures, Jiang Ping winced, “Both fusion and deployment of creatures consume points, everything requires points. No wonder Genesis values it so highly.”
Previously, creating various marine resources only cost 10 points, but today alone, he spent a total of 50 points creating magical creatures. It was no wonder Jiang Ping felt such regret.
“Time to adjust. I’ve been busy all day and plan to wash up and sleep. With the central tree watching over them, the primitive apes shouldn’t face extinction. I’ll see when I wake if they’ve reached the Stone Age.”
As he thought of this, Jiang Ping suddenly felt an ominous premonition. He had held immense hopes before sleeping previously, only to awaken and find that the world had gone silent, with 99% of the creatures wiped out.
Sitting up in bed, Jiang Ping exclaimed: “Genesis, keep an eye out for me! If there’s an apocalyptic event, adjust time accordingly. I’ll solve it when I wake up tomorrow.”
This time, Jiang Ping was heavily invested and could not afford to waste anything. Once everything was settled, he sank into slumber. In the Original World, the central tree curiously observed the little beings at its feet. These tiny beings, not even two meters tall, were weak and lacked fur, armor, and claws. If not for its secret intervention, they likely would have gone extinct. Why did the God of Creation place such high importance on these weak beings? The tree felt puzzled, especially after the God’s recent descent, when many bizarre savage beasts emerged with peculiar appearances. Each could absorb and exhale spiritual energy, and some could even breathe fire, spray water, or emit toxins.
It had taken the tree nearly ten million years to vaguely grasp a simple method of cultivation.
The tree swayed its branches, trying not to dwell on these troublesome problems. Instead, it decided to focus on being a promising giant tree; after all, it hadn’t found anything stronger than itself yet. The mightiest, a flying lizard, only added a little trouble.
However, it seemed it could also seek alliances with some powerful beasts. Boom!
The gigantic Dragon King Beast glared angrily at the strange creature before it, which was covered in tentacles and had a single large eye that made its head throb every time it opened.
Thus, its proud close-range attacks couldn’t take effect. After reigning supreme in the sea for a million years, why were so many bizarre monsters suddenly appearing?
Reluctantly, the Dragon King Beast swam around, feeling that encountering such a monstrous creature would be dangerous for it. Even if it could defeat it, it would surely be injured.
For some reason, the not-so-intelligent mind of the Dragon King Beast suddenly realized that those carefree days of roaming around and filling its stomach were over. The good times had come to an end!
The emergence of magical creatures left the native beasts in despair. It was like a dimensional strike; they could naturally absorb and exhale spiritual energy, skillfully using it to enhance their attacks, each possessing unique skills.
The continent’s overlord, the Heavenly Tiger, began to tuck its tail between its legs, imitating the breathing of these monsters, hoping to increase its own spiritual energy absorption and recover its position as the overlord.
In truth, if not for their limited numbers, the Original World would already belong to these magical creatures. However, as they integrated into the world, it also birthed many hybrids. Most of them were less powerful than their ancestors, but a few rare individuals mutated.
Among them, the Western Dragons stood out. They were omnivorous, having tasted every creature in the skies, on land, and in the seas, resulting in a plethora of sub-dragon breeds. Gradually, the native beasts of the Original World began referring to the first batch of magical creatures as: Divine Creatures, to differentiate them from their own kind.
Of course, the native beasts discovered that not every Divine Creature was powerful. Many were utterly weak, particularly those near the central tree. The entire Original World radiated new vitality. The energy absorption of both flora and fauna steadily increased, and their solar energy conversion accelerated considerably. The whole world seemed to be subtly expanding, becoming even livelier. Yet, unbeknownst to the giants above ground, a group of black creatures resembling ants, with horns on their heads, were steadily growing beneath the earth, gnawing on tree roots and drawing energy from the great tree.
They also attempted to devour subterranean minerals to strengthen themselves. Although many companions perished in the process, it also led to their powerful mutations!
