Chapter 194: Stolen Kisses
by xennovelThe warm breath from those red lips gently brushed against Lin Zheng Ran’s face.
It was both fragrant and hot.
Just as Lin Zheng Ran was about to lean in for a kiss, he pulled back and asked teasingly, “Not angry anymore?”
Han Wenwen heard him and opened her fox-like eyes in confusion, not quite catching his words. “Hmm? What?”
“I said, are you not jealous anymore?”
She caught the playful smirk on Lin Zheng Ran’s face and understood.
In an instant, her cheeks flushed like ripe cherries, her face puffed up in embarrassment.
If she really had a fox tail, she’d have nine of them standing straight up right now.
“Brother Zheng Ran, you’re such a big meanie! All you do is tease and bully…”
Before she could finish, Lin Zheng Ran wrapped his arm around her waist and surprised her with a kiss, their lips meeting.
Han Wenwen’s body tingled like an electric shock, her eyes—once filled with a mix of emotions—now wide and dreamy as she stared at Lin Zheng Ran.
The warmth on her lips made her heart race.
Her hands gripped his back tightly, and she started to close her eyes, ready to hum softly in response.
But Lin Zheng Ran pulled away after a brief kiss, since she’d been lost in thought too long. “Still mad?”
By now, Han Wenwen had no room for anger, gazing at him longingly with her face flushed red.
It wasn’t enough; she hadn’t even begun to savor it.
“Mad about what? Who’s mad? I don’t know what you’re talking about,” she said coyly.
“Weren’t you just nipping and biting a moment ago?”
Han Wenwen’s mind went blank, and she shook her head shyly, her fox-like eyes fixed on him.
“I wasn’t mad at you, Brother Zheng Ran. I was just jealous… Wenwen would never dare get mad at you. But those things don’t matter now. I don’t want to talk about them. Let’s save it for another day…”
She stroked his lips with her hand, still in a daze. “Was that your first kiss? Have you kissed anyone before?”
Lin Zheng Ran shook his head. “You’re the first.”
The little fox’s invisible nine tails wagged excitedly, swaying back and forth.
Her hand kept caressing his lips as she asked shyly and happily,
“You gave your first kiss to me? But why did you kiss me? You hardly ever make the first move. I thought you were just teasing me.”
Quietly, she rose up on her tiptoes.
Lin Zheng Ran looked puzzled:
“I don’t think it’s that rare. But before the college entrance exams, I was busy tutoring you all, plus some other stuff, so I didn’t have time to spend alone with you. Now that high school’s over, I figure it’s time to make up for what I missed?”
Han Wenwen’s eyes sparkled with allure, as if they could drip with water.
A smile played on her lips. “Is that so? But that kiss came out of nowhere—I didn’t really feel it, and I didn’t even get to…”
Her face glowed bright red as she hesitated, then got straight to the point. “Let’s do it again, okay? Just once more. Come on.”
Lin Zheng Ran smiled and wrapped his arm around Han Wenwen’s waist again.
The little fox joyfully placed her hands on his shoulders, rising on her toes to lean in closer.
But the floor was covered in fabric, and she stretched too high, losing her balance and pulling down the cloth behind Lin Zheng Ran.
They both toppled backward, landing with a thud on a pile of clothes in the storage room.
Lin Zheng Ran hit the bottom.
Han Wenwen landed on top of him, the fall jolting her.
Lin Zheng Ran was fine, but he asked with concern, “Are you okay, Wenwen?”
Han Wenwen let out a soft “Ah” and slowly got up from his arms, shaking her head.
“I’m fine. This storage room is full of clothes and curtains—nothing hurts.” But she didn’t care about the fall at all; her eyes were locked on Lin Zheng Ran’s lips.
Nothing else mattered to her right then.
She paused, biting her lip shyly, about to say something.
That’s when Lin Zheng Ran’s phone rang.
The ringtone shattered the mood, and Lin Zheng Ran pulled out his phone to check. Han Wenwen felt a sudden urge to stop him—it would ruin everything.
But she was too slow; he’d already seen it.
It was Lily calling.
Lin Zheng Ran said, “It’s Lily calling. I’ll take this quick.”
Han Wenwen watched him jealously and lay on his chest, waiting for the call to end.
As soon as Lin Zheng Ran answered, Han Wenwen’s phone started ringing too. She quickly muted it and checked who it was.
It was Heqing.
Han Wenwen guessed what was up and sat up, covering her mouth as they both took their calls.
Lying on the clothes, Lin Zheng Ran answered, “Hey, Lily? What’s going on?”
From the practice room, Lily said, “Zheng Ran, where are you? You’re not in the practice room. Heqing and I came to find you, but we can’t spot you. We asked around, and no one knows where you went.”
Lin Zheng Ran was surprised. “You and Heqing are here?”
Lily replied playfully,
“Yeah, we got here a bit ago. There’s no class now, and we were bored, so we thought we’d swing by and see how everyone’s rehearsal is going. Where are you? Han Wenwen’s not here either—we’re calling her too.”
Lin Zheng Ran glanced at Han Wenwen, who was on her call with her hand over her mouth.
He laughed helplessly. “We’re out handling some stuff. You two wait for us in the practice room; we’ll be back soon.”
Lily agreed. “Okay, got it. We’ll wait for you there.”
Lin Zheng Ran hung up, and Han Wenwen finished her chat with Heqing, giggling a bit.
“Yeah, yeah, Lin Zheng Ran and I are out taking care of something. We’ll head back soon. Alright, Heqing, I’ll hang up now?”
The little fox ended her call.
Han Wenwen sighed unhappily.
She’d been hoping to kiss Lin Zheng Ran for half an hour or an hour, but now there was no time.
Lin Zheng Ran sat up. “Heqing and Lily are looking for us.”
Han Wenwen nodded, and they exchanged a look. The little fox quickly settled back on his lap, hands on his shoulders.
“I know they’re here, but can we wait just a minute? Or three? Three minutes isn’t long. Let them wait a bit.”
Lin Zheng Ran felt her longing gaze and the warmth of her breath.
He smiled at her flushed cheeks. “Wenwen, your face is so red.”
Han Wenwen’s eyes were full of charm. “Of course it is, around you, Brother Zheng Ran~”
Her lips inched closer tentatively.
Parted slightly, they drew nearer bit by bit.
Until they met his lips again.
She hummed softly, eyes closed.
Wrapping her arms around his neck, they lay back on the fabrics behind them.
Their lips intertwined.
“Brother Zheng Ran… you’re mine.”
Five minutes later, in the practice room, Heqing and Lily stood watching the various classes rehearse or take breaks.
Lily asked casually, “Heqing, I’ve always wondered—does Han Wenwen not like guys?”
Heqing looked puzzled. “Why would you think that?”
Lily explained,
“Well, I’ve known her for years, and she’s had hundreds of guys confess to her, but she hasn’t liked any of them. Doesn’t that seem odd?”
Heqing blinked innocently.
“Not really. Han Wenwen’s always been picky about guys, so she’s never found anyone worthwhile. That’s just how she is.”
She whispered, covering her mouth, “I asked her about it once, and she told me straight up that she likes guys, not girls.”
“Really?” Lily glanced around the room. “Then do you think she has a crush on Zheng Ran? I always feel like she acts differently around him than with other guys.”
“Wait, Han Wenwen likes Zheng Ran?”
“Oh, just a thought.” She sighed. “It feels like every girl in the world is trying to steal our boyfriend, and Zheng Ran’s such a flirt.”
Lily smiled and nodded toward the door. “Heqing, look—they’re back!”
