Chapter Index

After some discussion, Father Jiang analyzed the suitable situations for the two sisters.

They finally decided that in the Jiang Group’s shares five years from now, Jiang Qian would have a larger share, probably over forty percent, while Jiang Jingshi would get thirty percent.

In the future, Jiang Qian would also serve as the general manager of the Jiang Group.

But as compensation for Jiang Jingshi, the sisters signed an agreement that if the elders step down in the future.

And if Jiang Jingshi’s Zheng Shi Company urgently needs funds.

Jiang Qian must provide unconditional financial help to the company.

They also set a minimum amount that couldn’t be refused.

The sisters both agreed with this proposal, but when signing, Jiang Jingshi mentioned, “Dad, can you reduce some of my recent workload?”

Mother Jiang nodded. “If you’re really too busy, Jingshi, hand over some of the work to Qian Qian and let her take it on.”

    “Okay.”

Once signed, it ended much more smoothly than expected.

    Grandfather chuckled:

“I thought this meeting would be tough, but in the end, they’re blood sisters. Jingshi and Qian Qian are both so polite about this. You know, in other families, heirs might fight tooth and nail over a tiny bit of profit. You two might argue normally, but here you’re getting along great.”

Father Jiang held the agreement. “I’ll keep this document. It’s set in stone now, so you sisters can’t back out later.”

Jiang Qian and Jiang Jingshi nodded without hesitation.

Mother Jiang said, “Your father and I have other matters to attend to, so we’ll head out. You two get some rest. Dad, are you staying here?”

    Grandfather nodded.

    “I’ll stay here tonight.”

The sisters walked Grandfather out to see off Father Jiang and Mother Jiang, but when they reached the villa entrance, Mother Jiang suddenly pulled Jiang Jingshi aside.

Jiang Jingshi asked curiously, “What is it, Mom?”

Mother Jiang whispered, “Let me ask you something personal, daughter. How are things going with that person at work lately?”

Jiang Jingshi answered honestly, “It’s going well. Why ask secretly? You could just ask openly.”

Though Mother Jiang was middle-aged, her years of hard work had given her plenty of experience.

“Don’t you get what I mean? You think it’s fine like this? No plans to change it? I’m talking about the share distribution.”

Jiang Jingshi realized her mother meant the shares with Lin Zheng Ran. She smiled helplessly:

“It’s good. I’ve told you before, right? Ever since the company started, I only handle management and promotion. But the key part—increasing employee skills

and doubling profits—that’s all him. Only he can do it. I think forty percent for me and sixty for Lin Zheng Ran is fair.”

“Why do you make yourself sound so worthless? Remember, when Zheng Shi Company started, it used your foundation and connections, which were crucial in the early stages.”

Jiang Jingshi replied gently, not understanding:

“Mom, starting a company needs money and connections, sure, but isn’t the person who can actually make it profitable even more important? How many rich kids start businesses and lose money? Do you know how much our company’s profits have multiplied in these years? Without him, could Zheng Shi Company have grown this much in just two years?

Besides, when you and Dad built the group, you both invested and took on debts together. Your shares were less than Dad’s, and you were okay with it because he’s more capable than you.”

Mother Jiang clicked her tongue. “That’s because your dad and I are married! I have less than him because I’m his wife—we’re a team. What’s the difference in how much we have?”

Jiang Jingshi followed up, “Well, Lin Zheng Ran and I are also—”

The mother and daughter locked eyes, and Mother Jiang smiled.

“So, you two are official now?”

Jiang Jingshi faltered, realizing she’d walked into her mother’s trap, her cheeks flushing slightly:

“I can’t believe you. I don’t even know if we are. Anyway, I think the shares are reasonable, and I’m fine with it.”

    Mother Jiang asked, puzzled:

“What do you mean you don’t know if you are? Don’t you know if you’re together? I know my daughter isn’t foolish; you wouldn’t just give away most of the shares. You and Qian Qian are both sharp-minded.

Honestly, deep down, you see yourself and Lin Zheng Ran as a team. So, forget sixty percent—even if it was a hundred for him, you’d be okay with it because your heart’s already with him.”

    Jiang Jingshi stayed silent.

Mother Jiang poked her daughter’s forehead. “You’re so bold!”

    Jiang Jingshi still said nothing.

Mother Jiang continued, “You’re not even married yet, but you act like you’re already his. Sneaking around to start a company with him, quietly settling the shares— you’re quite the gambler.”

Jiang Jingshi whispered, “We’re not so different, Mom. Business and choosing a partner are both gambles on your judgment. Trust the people you use and don’t doubt them. Besides, Lin Zheng Ran has worked miracles, just like Dad did back then.”

“Your dad wasn’t as talented as Lin Zheng Ran. When we started, it was all struggle—rain or shine, and we nearly went bankrupt multiple times. But Lin Zheng Ran? Your dad and I looked into your company’s history, and he’s a rare genius. He’s skilled in everything, handles big and small issues, teaches brilliantly, has sharp vision for his age, and acts decisively.

In business, people like him are the best—they excel and make their team stronger too. With you supporting him as the steady partner, providing connections and keeping the company stable internally, you two in sync—it’s no surprise you’re making money hand over fist.”

Mother Jiang sighed, a touch of envy on her face:

“If your dad had been that capable, I wouldn’t have worried so much giving him advice. Don’t let on, but he’s really just half-capable as a chairman.”

Jiang Jingshi whispered back, “You’re the only one who’d say that about Dad.”

Mother Jiang added, “But seriously, co-founding is risky if the founders clash over interests—that can ruin even a great company. Yet you two click so well. I haven’t seen that outside family.”

She looked at her daughter. “Anyway, you still haven’t answered me. Are you and him official?”

Jiang Jingshi wasn’t sure if she counted as Lin Zheng Ran’s girlfriend, even after what happened in the car that afternoon.

Did that really make her his?

It felt like something was missing.

She glanced away with her almond eyes. “Don’t ask about that. Oh, right—he told me today that he might come over for a meal sometime, but it’s not set yet.”

    Mother Jiang beamed:

“Really?! Lin Zheng Ran is coming for dinner? Great! Whenever it is, your dad and I will make time. When the son-in-law visits, we need to meet him. I really like this young man.

We’ve checked his background—his family isn’t as well-off as ours, but with your grandfather’s generation’s connections, and his genius, a little boost will make him unstoppable. Plus, you two have that childhood betrothal—it’s fate.”

Jiang Jingshi frowned and reminded her:

“It’s not like that. He’s coming for company matters. You said you wanted to meet him, so I mentioned it. And I told him it’s not definite—I’ll let you know when it is.”

Mother Jiang nodded. “I know, I know. We can discuss your things and the company then. It’s all family, so it’ll be easy.”

Jiang Jingshi felt both embarrassed and speechless. “I give up on you. Do you have anything else?”

Mother Jiang said no, but quickly added:

“Oh, one more thing. Your dad and I heard that Qian Qian has someone she likes at school. Have you looked into it? What’s his name, his background, and how far have they gone?”

Jiang Jingshi blinked her pretty eyes.

“How do you and Dad know everything?”

    “”
