Chapter Index

Lin Zheng Ran checked his personal panel.

Your current attributes are as follows:

Spiritual Energy level seventy; Nascent Soul stage.

Spiritual Power Control: Level two; You can manipulate objects with spiritual energy or walk on water across rivers.

Stamina: Ninety-nine; Unlocked the ability to break lifespan limits, boost physical strength, and double cultivation speed.

Heaven-Earth Resonance: Level one; At level one, anything you create will gain the blessing of heavenly forces, making items at least legendary quality and removing any side effects.

All Things Affinity: Level three; Your affinity with all attributes has reached the level of a prodigy among humans, beyond mere genius.

Once the panel appeared before him, the enhancements from breaking through level seventy integrated into Lin Zheng Ran’s body and mind.

He focused on the last entry, ‘All Things Affinity.’

Though the system didn’t elaborate much on the upgrade from level two to three, it simply changed from genius to prodigy on the surface.

Yet, Lin Zheng Ran deeply felt that the world around him seemed slightly different from what he knew.

At level two mastery, he could quickly think of ways to use things and handle objects skillfully, but now at level three…

Lin Zheng Ran glanced at a nearby carbon pen used for notes and calculations, and instantly, images of its parts and components dissected in his mind.

Beyond just using what he saw, his brain now revealed the object’s inner workings, every intricate logic and mechanism.

Is this what prodigy-level affinity feels like?

It’s a total transformation from simply using items before!

And looking at the potions he’d made, Lin Zheng Ran picked up the few bottles of Jixin Disease remedy that had taken him dozens of failed attempts over the past two days.

In his eyes now, the fusion of ingredients and reasons for past failures all surfaced in his mind, no longer requiring slow experiments and theories.

In other words, if he’d broken through two days ago, he might have made this remedy perfectly on the first try.

It saves time and, more importantly, lets him see straight to the core.

As for the Energy Value that transformed into Heaven-Earth Resonance after the breakthrough…

Though level one Resonance couldn’t yet control winds, thunder, or the elements at will as the system described, it already let heavenly forces enhance anything he created.

And without side effects—Lin Zheng Ran was truly curious what would happen if he infused his potion with these forces.

He stared at the vial in his hand and tentatively gathered heaven’s spiritual energy into it.

In moments, faint strands of invisible heavenly energy seemed to appear before Lin Zheng Ran, upgrading and altering the potion’s quality.

Half a minute later, the glass vial in his hand shattered.

    The liquid inside slowly coalesced.

    It turned solid.

A black pill now rested between his fingers.

“So this is alchemy? It’s starting to feel more like true cultivation—and I don’t even need a cauldron.”

Lin Zheng Ran examined the pill’s quality and was stunned.

His original Jixin Disease remedy could suppress the illness well but required multiple treatments over time.

Based on its effects, patients needed it weekly for about six months to fully recover.

Plus, the remedy didn’t alter the disease’s genetics, so descendants might still risk it—though the user themselves wouldn’t relapse.

But this pill, enhanced by heavenly forces, didn’t need six months; just two days of taking it would restore full health and strength.

And it could completely rewrite the patient’s genetic flaws, ensuring descendants never suffered the disease.

It cut off the root cause once and for all.

Lin Zheng Ran couldn’t help but laugh.

“This ability is even more useful than I imagined.”

He glanced at his clothes, unchanged for two days: “Time to head out.”

He set the pill aside, pulled out his phone, and called Pan Lin to check on her recent situation.

In the hospital ward, Jiang Jingshi lay in bed wearing patient clothes, her face pale from illness. She gazed out the window at a row of ginkgo trees lining a small path.

With summer in full swing, the ginkgo leaves were a deep green, bursting with life.

A breeze rustled through, making the leaves dance beautifully.

Jiang Qian and Fang Meng sat nearby, both silent.

Fang Meng had arrived yesterday; upon hearing at the villa that the eldest miss was in the hospital, she was shocked and had the driver bring her early.

After a quick inquiry, she learned Jiang Jingshi had a severe cardiovascular disease that was worsening rapidly.

That made her think of something—hadn’t Lin Zheng Ran been buried in books on cardiovascular diseases just the day before?

Lin’s Aunt mentioned he’d started studying non-stop recently, and she’d seen it herself. Was he researching for the eldest miss?

Qian Qian…” Jiang Jingshi suddenly spoke.

Both Jiang Qian and Fang Meng looked up.

Jiang Jingshi turned to Jiang Qian; though her face was pale from the illness, her expression remained as gentle as ever: “You don’t have to stay here every day. I’m fine. Go home and rest.”

Fang Meng glanced at Jiang Qian’s exhausted face and added, “Yeah, why don’t you head back and rest? I can stay with the eldest miss.”

But Jiang Qian didn’t move; she replied calmly, “I can rest here. I don’t want to go back.”

Jiang Jingshi sighed, knowing her sister’s stubborn nature. As she turned back to the window, a wave of dizziness hit her.

She frowned slightly at the disorientation.

Fang Meng and Jiang Qian rushed over.

    “Eldest Miss!”

    “Sister!”

The dizziness passed quickly, and Jiang Jingshi smiled: “It’s nothing, really. Don’t worry so much. Even the doctor said it won’t worsen that fast.”

Jiang Qian eyed the foreign medicine on the table: “But you’ve been taking it since the day before yesterday. Why isn’t there any sign of improvement?”

Jiang Jingshi also doubted the hospital’s drugs were working.

“The doctor mentioned reactions vary per person. Maybe it’s just taking time.”

    Silence fell.

Then, the phone on the bedside table suddenly rang.

    All three turned to look.

Jiang Jingshi reached for it quickly to see who was calling. With company matters, Pan Lin hadn’t been updating her lately, so it could be the Jiang Group or someone else.

But when she saw the screen, her hopeful expression faded. It wasn’t Lin Zheng Ran; it was the Jiang Group calling.

She had no interest in answering.

She hung up and was about to set the phone down when the ward door suddenly opened.

    Lin Zheng Ran walked in.

Jiang Jingshi saw the caller and her face fell—it wasn’t him, just the Jiang Group.

She had no heart to answer, so she hung up and started to put the phone back, but then the ward door swung open.
