Chapter 331: Unexpected Homecoming

The car eased along the road.

The four of them were unusually quiet. Meeting the uncle and aunt this way would make anyone tense.

Besides, their original trio had now grown to a quartet.

Heqing dug into her pocket and pulled out a pack of candy. She first offered some to Han Wenwen and Lily.

Then, tentatively, she called out to Jiang Jingshi in the passenger seat: “Teacher Jiang? No, Sister Jiang.”

Jiang Jingshi turned around and smiled: “What is it?”

Heqing held out the candy: “Want some? I bought it this morning.”

Jiang Jingshi usually didn’t eat candy, but she reached out and took it: “Thank you, Heqing.”

“You’re welcome.”

Han Wenwen linked arms with Heqing and greeted her warmly. As the little fox, her jealousy ran deepest among them.

But nothing topped Brother Zheng Ran’s wandering heart. Since they were destined to be together, she was happy to build friendships.

“Sister Jiang, you’re so beautiful,” Han Wenwen said. “Brother Zheng Ran mentioned you several times before, and I looked you up, but seeing you in person at school still shocked me.”

Jiang Jingshi popped the candy into her mouth:

“I feel the same about you, Wenwen. The first time I saw you, I was surprised at how stunning and unique you are. And Heqing, I thought you were incredibly cute right away.”

“Thank you, Sister Jiang,” they both replied.

Jiang Jingshi then looked at Lily gazing out the window: “As for Lily, well, this isn’t our first meeting. A few years ago, I told you how pretty you are.”

Lily gave an awkward laugh and cleared her throat: “Thanks. Zheng Ran mentioned you’re moving in with us soon?”

Jiang Jingshi blushed and nodded:

“Yes, since we’re all sisters now and willing to follow Zheng Ran, we should get familiar. Once his day-student paperwork is done, I’ll move in too.”

“And you don’t have to call me sister, even though I’m a few years older. We’re all the same privately, so Jingshi works fine.”

Heqing blinked innocently: “But I think Sister Jiang sounds so warm and easy to say.”

Han Wenwen nodded: “Me too.”

Lily smiled: “Zheng Ran can call you Jingshi.” She scratched her cheek.

Jiang Jingshi nodded gently: “Sure, whatever works. We’re all sisters anyway.”

The three marveled at how gentle and pleasant Jiang Jingshi’s voice was.

Han Wenwen raised her hand curiously:

“Sister Jiang, I have a question. You’re really nice, but why does it seem like you and Jiang Qian have this rivalry when I see you together?”

Jiang Jingshi thought for a moment, her peach-blossom eyes blinking:

“Well, maybe because you’re all only children, you don’t get it. Sisters living together from childhood have all sorts of conflicts, especially during those rebellious years. But the main thing is…”

She gave an awkward smile, a shadow crossing her face: “Jiang Qian, as my sister, actually likes Zheng Ran—like her own brother-in-law. That’s why we’ve been giving each other the cold shoulder lately.”

The three fell silent for a moment.

They could clearly feel the tension between real sisters.

The three little ones suddenly turned to Lin Zheng Ran driving the car.

That sudden overnight stay had surprised them all.

Jiang Jingshi asked with gentle curiosity: “By the way, a personal question—have you three all slept with Zheng Ran?”

Their faces flushed bright red.

Questions from someone older came out so directly.

Lily glanced out the window and said proudly: “That playboy Zheng Ran? Do you think he’d hold back? Though it’s only happened a few times.”

Each nodded politely and said together: “Hello, Uncle and Aunt!”

Then looked at their son.

Lin Zheng Ran seemed relaxed, not worried about what came next.

Soon, in the living room, Heqing, Han Wenwen, Lily, and Jiang Jingshi sat on the sofa together.

They looked awkward but determined.

Lin Xiao Li poured water for everyone, and they all said: “Thank you, Aunt.”

She sat down too.

Lin Zheng Ran snacked on fruit from the table and handed each girl a cherry tomato.
