Chapter 350: Blushing Evenings
by xennovelThe four girls tidied the bed and hurried past Lin Zheng Ran, each stealing a quick glance at him before rushing to the bathroom.
“We’re heading to shower!” they said together.
Lin Zheng Ran watched the shy quartet, guessing what had them on edge.
He didn’t say more, just went straight to the bed, pulled back the covers, and sat inside.
He picked up a book and waited.
The bedroom door closed behind them.
The four made their way to the bathroom door.
Once there, Lily stopped first and asked, “Are we all showering together, or one at a time?”
Heqing whispered, “If we go one by one, it’ll take at least an hour. Lin Zheng Ran’s waiting in the bedroom.”
Lily’s face flushed red again as she stammered, “What… what do you mean waiting? What exactly is he waiting for? We can take our time; there’s nothing else to do today!”
Han Wenwen covered her face and said, “Since we’ve all left the bedroom, we should shower together. Otherwise, how would we explain it to Brother Zheng Ran? We can’t say we all came out but then showered separately while the others waited in the living room.”
Lily thought about it and added, “Why did we all come out together anyway? Shouldn’t we just go one by one?”
Everyone knew Lin Zheng Ran’s sudden appearance had made them all nervous, which is why they left the bedroom.
As the most mature of the group, Jiang Jingshi suggested, “We’re all girls, so it’s fine to shower together. Plus, this bathroom has a bathtub—we can even soak.”
Han Wenwen exclaimed in surprise, “A bathtub? I’ve never soaked in one my whole life!”
Heqing giggled, “I tried it the other day—it’s fun and really comfortable.”
Lily nodded eagerly, “I tried it too; soaking feels great.”
Han Wenwen grew even more excited.
After discussing, the girls decided to stick together to save time.
One by one, they stepped into the steamy bathroom.
Honest conversation flowed.
Jiang Jingshi wasn’t too shy about it; she had a sister and they used to shower together as kids.
But Heqing, Lily, and Han Wenwen were different—the three of them had been like sisters for years, but they only did this once during a trip before.
Now with Jiang Jingshi joining, they still felt a bit embarrassed.
Seeing Jiang Jingshi’s calm face helped ease their nerves.
Lily set her clothes aside, turned on the shower, and squeezed some body wash into her hand. “Jiang Jie, have you showered with other girls before?”
With two showers running and water cascading, Jiang Jingshi smiled and said, “When I was little, I often showered with Qian Qian. As we grew up, we did it less, but occasionally still together.”
Han Wenwen lathered soap on her arms. “I almost forgot you’re real sisters with Jiang Qian. But it’s hard to picture her joining in, given her personality.”
Jiang Jingshi gave an awkward smile. “It’s rare now because Qian Qian isn’t keen on it. But sometimes I surprise her by showing up in the bathroom, and she has no choice but to join.”
Heqing blushed and asked quietly, “Surprise? Does Jiang Qian never lock the door?”
Jiang Jingshi replied, “Of course she locks it, but as her sister, I have a key, so I can get in if I want.”
Lily found it fascinating. “We’re all only children, so we don’t have that experience. But with Jiang Qian’s cool demeanor, is she quiet at home too?”
Jiang Jingshi ran her hands through her hair:
“You might have the wrong idea about Qian Qian. Her aloofness is mostly for outsiders. At home, she answers questions readily— she’s not that reserved, just a bit arrogant. Especially since high school, she’s become much more outgoing than before.”
The three little ones were stunned—they hadn’t noticed that.
They just weren’t that close to Jiang Qian yet.
Jiang Jingshi blinked her pretty peach-blossom eyes:
“This just hit me—if we’re all Zheng’s girlfriends and sisters, then in a way, you three are like Qian Qian’s sisters too. Since she calls Zheng her brother-in-law, she’d call you all her sisters.”
The three little ones froze.
It was such an odd thought—they’d never considered it.
But suddenly, they had an extra sister out of nowhere.
Meanwhile, wherever Jiang Qian was, she sneezed wildly, sensing her annoying sister was up to something again.
After a quick rinse, the four girls slipped into the large bathtub.
It was a bit cramped.
Their feet touched as they settled in.
They exchanged glances; Han Wenwen eyed Jiang Jingshi’s graceful neck and figure.
“Jiang Jie, your figure is absolutely perfect.”
Jiang Jingshi thanked her and looked at the others. “You three each have your own charm—Heqing’s curves up front, Han Wenwen’s in the back, and Lily’s just cute all over.”
Heqing hugged herself shyly while Han Wenwen grinned.
Lily ducked her mouth under the water.
“Cute” was nice, but she wished for those curves instead.
These three were all so well-developed.
Why couldn’t she grow like that? It was baffling.
Lily sat up and started, “After we finish showering…”
She hadn’t even finished, just said those words, and everyone fell silent.
Their eyes met with awkward glances, then they all looked away.
Jiang Jingshi covered her mouth with the back of her hand and whispered, “I’ve got a sister, but this is my first time sleeping like this. Will we wear pajamas when we get into bed?”
Heqing kept her head down. “Of course we will… how else could we sleep?”
After another ten minutes, the four girls finally finished and returned to the bedroom.
Han Wenwen opened the door.
Lin Zheng Ran glanced at the four in their loose pajamas.
Fresh from the shower, their scent was strong, hitting him as soon as the door opened.
“All done?”
They nodded.
Together, they climbed into bed.
Their spots were decided earlier with rock-paper-scissors in the bathroom—from left to right: Heqing, Jiang Jingshi, Lin Zheng Ran, Lily, Han Wenwen.
The four slipped under the covers and lay still, the room quiet.
Lin Zheng Ran set his book aside. “Should I turn off the lights?”
The four murmured in agreement.
So he lay down too.
The vast bedroom was dead silent, only soft breaths breaking the quiet.
Not even a rustle as they shifted.
After a few minutes, Lin Zheng Ran asked with his eyes closed, “Do you four usually sleep this quietly?”
The girls stayed silent, unsure how to respond.
Lin Zheng Ran knew they’d never drift off like this. “Jiang Jingshi.”
She replied tensely, “Yes, Zheng?”
Lin Zheng Ran reached out and pulled Jiang Jingshi into his arms. The other three tensed up.
With his eyes still closed, he said, “Jiang Jingshi’s first time being this nervous is one thing, but you three—why so stiff? If you want to cuddle, just do it.”
