Chapter 110: Sister’s Embrace
by xennovelIs this really enough to finish it?
Beneath the South Wall Lu Xin wasn’t thinking about anything else.
Right now he only wanted to eliminate this Mental Monster before it could devour everyone below the Wall.
After agreeing to lend his Ability to his Sister or rather completely trusting her to take charge of this Cleanup Lu Xin felt an unusual sense of ease. He could feel his Sister’s happiness and had to admit that he too felt incredibly relaxed as if some kind of shackles had fallen away.
This feeling… it had been a long time since he’d felt this way.
In this state he was like a spectator completely removed from the battlefield just watching the fight unfold.
Watching the two monsters tear into each other felt like watching a play to him.
It was a bizarre scene. Both monsters were stitched together from countless human faces.
The faces on one monster looked normal just densely packed with various expressions. But on the one his Sister had polluted every face was twisted and sinister.
Its aggression was also far stronger than the more ‘normal’ Mental Monster…
Thinking this Lu Xin found it somewhat amusing.
To actually think of a massive terrifying Mental Monster as the more ‘normal’ one…
The two monsters grappled tearing at each other with arms made of faces biting at the faces on each other’s bodies like wild beasts. But it was clear that his Sister’s monster though slightly smaller was far fiercer.
It was like a distorted chihuahua.
While the other was just a big clumsy golden retriever.
So his Sister’s monster quickly pinned the other down looking like it would completely overwhelm it.
Countless struggling twisted faces gnawed at each other.
The Mental Monster pinned underneath had almost completely lost its ability to resist.
“Sister is really amazing…”
Lu Xin couldn’t help but marvel inwardly realizing this was another way he could help his Sister.
It seemed he had quite a few secrets of his own.
When he got the chance he should really try to understand himself better…
…although realizing he had many secrets and deciding to ‘research himself’ did sound a bit strange.
…
…
“Hummmm…”
Just as Lu Xin began to relax slightly even starting to ponder things about himself.
A faint ethereal signal seemed to arrive from a distance.
Lu Xin saw the large Mental Monster suddenly stop moving.
It allowed the twisted mental monster controlled by his Sister to bite it remaining completely still.
The faces making up its huge body all took on a dull vacant expression.
Then its body suddenly began emitting a strong signal. An invisible power started spreading outwards accompanied by a trembling sound that might have been an auditory hallucination. Every face began to blur becoming indistinct like ice sculptures melting merging collapsing inward brewing an unimaginable terrifying power within.
Watching from afar Lu Xin frowned slightly.
“Not good…”
Outside the Wasteland beneath the South Wall the evacuated personnel weren’t spying on Lu Xin at this moment.
But whether it was the Special Action Team members the City Patrol Soldiers or the Investigation Team everyone still held their specialized Mental detection instruments. Therefore they simultaneously detected the intense and rapid Mental Fluctuation signals.
This made them realize one thing: “Is the Mental Monster about to release its final radiation?”
The Information Analysis Team had already predicted this final reaction from the Mental Monster.
The release of Mental Radiation was tantamount to a bomb going off.
Not just the people beneath the High Wall but everyone within a ten-kilometer radius affected by this radiation would be in danger.
Lu Xin had stayed behind precisely to deal with this Mental Pollution Bomb.
But now the precursors to the radiation had appeared. Could it be…
…
…
“Sister…”
As Lu Xin realized something was wrong with the Mental Monster he subconsciously called out in his mind.
A slight tension grew within him and he found himself lunging towards the Mental Monster.
But gathering his senses he realized he hadn’t moved—it was his Sister who had rushed out…
His Sister wearing her messy dirty little white dress shot out from his body. She looked at the Human-faced Monster that seemed about to explode laughed “Hehehe” and stretched her body forcefully.
“Crack” “Crack” “Crack”
Her body seemed seized by some invisible force stretching violently.
But her small body was only so big; it naturally couldn’t withstand such stretching.
So the next moment her body split into many pieces.
Her small limbs and torso scattered instantly floating in mid-air.
Like a complete building block dismantled piece by piece.
But her happy laughter still echoed in the surrounding air.
“Brother look quickly! There are so many mes…”
Amidst her laughter the huge body of the twisted Human-faced Monster she had polluted also stretched tearing apart from various points. It actively split itself into many pieces but didn’t dissipate because of it. An invisible yet tenacious connection seemed to remain between the different parts.
After disassembling its surface area increased.
Then the pieces of the twisted mental monster flew out one by one enveloping the Mental Monster about to explode.
The immense radiation released itself within the Sister’s embrace.
…
…
Watching this scene Lu Xin suddenly felt an abnormal sharp pain in his heart.
It felt like steel needles had pierced his brain and were being brutally stirred.
He watched his Sister happily embrace the monster about to release powerful Mental Radiation preventing its power from spreading wildly. He knew this was a manifestation of his Sister’s Ability but for some reason he desperately didn’t want to see this happen.
…
…
“It’s over…”
At the same time Qin Ran and the other Ability Users were already prepared to retreat.
Thick grappling hooks were secured to the edge of the thirty-story rooftop and they slid down with extremely professional maneuvers.
Qin Ran was the last one down.
He waited two seconds longer than the others after pressing a button his eyes fixed on the screen of the Detection Device in his hand.
After waiting a long time he observed no change in the data readings.
“The waters in Qinggang City run deep…”
This realization made him take a deep breath. Without any further hesitation he went straight to the edge of the building.
Just as he turned away he suddenly glanced back sharply.
He wasn’t sure if it was a hallucination but he faintly felt as if a woman had just looked at him.
