Chapter 181: Verbal Barrage
by xennovelExtortion! This is blatant extortion!
Yu Sheng’an stood there like a chaos-bringing demon king, prepared to disgust everyone!
“Let me guess why you came to me!”
As the God of War and the other three gods looked on in shock, Yu Sheng’an stood with a wine glass.
“The Underworld God sought you out, meaning he can’t hold on much longer. So he intends to make peace or shift the conflict, dragging me into it!”
“You don’t want to give up the spoils at hand, yet fear a backlash from the Underworld God would lead to mutual destruction, allowing me to benefit. So you came to extort me, isn’t that right?”
“The Internet God is indeed clever. This saves us the effort of persuasion. Since you’ve guessed it, just lay out your cards!” the God of War said coldly.
Hearing this, Yu Sheng’an sighed internally.
Is this a three-way standoff? True, nobody here is foolish. He can strategically extort the Four Main Gods, and they can extort him in turn.
Maybe they’ll extort him fiercely and then launch a full assault against the Underworld God, benefiting both sides.
Of course, he could ignore the gods’ blackmail, but that risked getting attacked.
Nobody is foolish enough to let him sit idly by, watching the drama unfold.
“I have an idea that could satisfy both of you. Interested in hearing it?”
Yu Sheng’an revealed a confident smile.
“Oh?”
The four gods exchanged glances, feeling a troubling sense of unease.
……
……
In the Glazed Mountain of the Underworld, the Underworld God opened his eyes from his throne. He waved his hand, and maps of the worlds appeared in the vast hall.
——These were all his Preaching Area maps.
He scrutinized the maps. The more he looked, the colder his heart grew. After a long time, his resolve hardened. He closed his eyes again, delving his main consciousness into the Divine Projection, planning to contact other gods and form an alliance against the four gods.
——He couldn’t pin all his hopes on redirecting trouble.
After an unknown duration, he suddenly opened his eyes, roaring in anger:
“Bastards! Shortsighted fools! Do you think you’ll have an easy time if I lose? The Internet God will just drain your Well of Origin dry!”
His furious roar echoed in the temple.
“Huff… huff…”
The Underworld God’s eyes were bloodshot, breathing heavily, his fury palpable.
He tried to form alliances but found the gods were wary of his presence.
Let alone cooperation, they wouldn’t even listen to him.
Nobody is foolish.
What benefit is there to allying with the Underworld God and attacking the Four Main Gods? Even if it balanced the battlefield, it should only happen after he’s defeated. Intervening now would be inviting danger! What’s more, few have the strength to engage in their war. The more he pondered, the more enraged he became. How did such a promising situation turn into this?
On closer thought, it all seemed to stem from fighting the Internet God.
Damn Internet God!
While the Underworld God was fuming at the Internet God, he sensed the four gods arriving at the stone palace in the Cordillera Mountains.
He hesitated, wondering if the four gods had made a decision. He quickly channeled his consciousness into the statue within the stone palace.
Upon opening his eyes, the four gods were already animated, seated around the long table, their eyes filled with enigmatic glances.
The Underworld God narrowed his eyes, taking a breath before sitting on his high-backed chair.
Suddenly, his expression changed.
He had noticed an extra high-back chair beside the familiar five-seat long table.
“What’s this?”
A hint of astonishment flashed in the Underworld God’s eyes.
In his bewildered gaze, the high-back chair emanated a gravitational pull. It formed a black hole, absorbing energy from the stone palace, and in a blink, became a statue.
The statue quickly came to life, much like the descent of the Five Prime Gods.
The animated statue had black hair and eyes, white clothes and black pants, with an aura that unmistakably belonged to the Internet God.
This scene made the Underworld God’s pupils shrink.
“Lord Underworld God, we meet again.” Yu Sheng’an smiled, bowing to the Underworld God.
“What does this mean?” The Underworld God scanned the Four Main Gods with uncertain suspicion.
“Please, calm down, Lord Underworld God. I’ll answer that.” Yu Sheng’an sat down on the high-back chair, interlocking his fingers and resting his elbows on the table.
“Since the Dark Web appeared, the multiverse has been thrown into chaos…”
“Nonsense! What Dark Web are you talking about? The chaos is clearly from your Internet!” The Underworld God interrupted Yu Sheng’an rudely.
Regardless of what the Internet God intended to say, he couldn’t accept being blamed from the start! “Really? When I established the Internet, did I disseminate leaflets worldwide?”
“That’s because you’re timid! In any case, the chaos began with your Internet.” The Underworld God sneered.
“Oh, really? Then why are you the one getting attacked by everyone?” Yu Sheng’an countered.
“You—” The Underworld God was at a loss for words.
“Alright, none of us are children. Is there any point in arguing?” Yu Sheng’an stopped.
“Shut your mouth, rotten corpse! Don’t want us five gods attacking you? Let the Internet God finish first!” the God of War yelled.
Five gods?
After the God of War spoke, the Underworld God’s expression turned suspicious. He suddenly realized the four gods might have informed the Internet God about redirecting the trouble! Damn!
I knew the four gods couldn’t be trusted!
Yu Sheng’an nodded slightly to the God of War: “Since Lord Underworld God is so impatient, I’ll be brief. I have a plan to satisfy everyone given the current situation.”
Hearing this, the Underworld God grew even more uncertain.
“Before presenting my plan, I hope we reach a consensus: None of us can completely eradicate each other in the current situation. Do you all agree?”
The four gods instinctively glanced at the Underworld God.
Evidently, they knew the plan! This gave the Underworld God a sense of being targeted, fueling his anger.
He smirked, nodding.
He wanted to see what this Internet God could conjure up with his words! “Alright, my plan is simple. The Underworld God cedes twelve domains to the four gods in exchange for population migration rights and a truce.”
“Bang!” With a loud noise, the Underworld God shattered the stone table, pointing angrily: “So you plan to divide my Preaching Area? Don’t forget the Azure Star behind the Internet God!”
The God of Life, unmoved, stated: “Don’t try to change the subject. If you refuse, we’ll take it ourselves. Then you’ll have neither territory nor population!”
The Underworld God’s old face flushed with anger, breathing heavily like a bellows.
At this moment, a Divine Projection of Yu Sheng’an suddenly appeared on a huge rock at the foot of Glazed Mountain in the Underworld.
Instantly, the Underworld God noticed Yu Sheng’an’s Divine Projection.
Or rather, Yu Sheng’an didn’t hide, arriving with fanfare.
“Internet God, are you seeking death—”
His furious roar reverberated across the realm of Glazed Mountain.
The Underworld God’s wrath caused the Underworld to change.
In an instant, endless necromantic energy gathered, forming a giant dragon spiraling toward Yu Sheng’an.
“Listen to me first, then fight, okay?”
Yu Sheng’an’s Divine Projection stood on the giant rock at the Glazed Mountain’s base, looking up at the sky dragon, completely devoid of divine power.
The necromantic dragon charged toward Yu Sheng’an but abruptly halted.
The Underworld God’s figure quietly appeared on the dragon’s head, looking down at Yu Sheng’an with suspicion and anger.
