Chapter Index

After sending Guo Zihang away Jiang Qin also left the beef noodle shop and headed to the Jizhou City Library then brought his young rich lady patron to the small commodities market.

Feng Nanshu wore a floral dress that exuded an ethereal aura today with a small black leather bag slung across her body and brown leather shoes on her feet revealing a small strip of lace-edged thin socks brimming with a youthful feminine charm.

To give a crude assessment with the greasy soul of a 38-year-old she was tender enough to squeeze water out of.

She strolled down the narrow walkway her clear bright eyes flitting about filled with curiosity towards the goods displayed on the stalls.

This small commodities market was quite well-known among students at South City High School because it mostly sold counterfeit goods at very low prices with a wide variety available.

    Students were truly poor.

Especially commuter students who ate at home morning and night they really didn’t have much pocket money.

So every weekend they would come here in groups of three to five to browse but what they bought were basically all useless trinkets.

Feng Nanshu had probably heard classmates chatting about this place at school so she specifically requested to come take a look.

“Why do they have so many car keys?”

    “Ah… those are actually lighters.”

“Do you need to take a test for a beauty certificate? I want to get one.”

“That’s fake it’s meaningless if you want one just buy it directly one yuan each.”

“Jiang Qin I’m thirsty I want a Sprite.”

“You misread that’s its sister version Thunder.”

“This pair of underwear is split down the middle why is it still on sale?”

“Uh you’re still young don’t ask about adult matters.”

Three minutes later Feng Nanshu stopped at a shop around the corner unable to move her feet.

In front of her was a Hello Kitty kiddy ride flashing lights and sweetly calling out to little friends to come play.

Feng Nanshu turned her head quietly looking at Jiang Qin her cool gaze flickering with a hint of determination making Jiang Qin dumbfounded.

“Don’t tell me you want to ride this?”

“Young miss listen to me first this thing is for kids under 8 to play with.”

“You’re already 18 if you ride this you’ll definitely die of embarrassment on the spot.”

Jiang Qin tried to persuade her to give up this idea this toy may light up move and even frickin sing but if you’re not wearing split pants you’re not qualified to play.

But three minutes later a lovely song began playing from the doorway of the shop around the corner.

What do you call your dad’s dad you call your dad’s dad grandpa…

The beautiful young lady sat on it her expression cool and detached but a flicker of delight shone in her eyes.

Jiang Qin jingled the change he got at the shop unable to hold back a smile then leaned his shoulder against the shop doorframe his eyes quietly observing her.

He had spotted a schedule laminated in Feng Nanshu’s bag the other day practicing piano and violin in the morning ballet and judo at noon watching the news and reading financial papers at night only in the afternoons could this girl catch her breath at the library.

The young rich lady probably didn’t have much of a childhood…

That’s why she had no friends didn’t know how to socialize becoming socially anxious and misunderstood as aloof.

Jiang Qin chuckled to himself not dwelling on it anymore randomly flipping through the contracts in his bag.

He now had four demolition properties of varying sizes totaling 2.73 million spent from the card.

The compensation plan for the old district redevelopment in Jizhou City hadn’t been announced yet he hadn’t seen it in his previous life either but based on the compensation his third uncle’s Lianqiao received the compensation ratio for Fanhua Li should reach 1:2.8 Xingfu Community and Hongyun Community were more remote so the compensation wouldn’t be as high at most 1:2.1.

He wasn’t clear about the situation in Rongcheng but it should reach 1:2.4.

Jizhou wasn’t Jingdu or Shencheng it was nearly impossible to get rich overnight from demolition compensation reaching this ratio was already very rare quit while you’re ahead.

You should know that Qianba Village located on the North Second Ring Road was also included in the demolition scope in 2018 but the compensation ratio was only 1:1.3.

    What does this show?

It shows that demolition is just like love timing is really important.

After the demolition payment arrives Jiang Qin will return the money Feng Nanshu lent him at that time he should still have one or two million left plus the four properties.

Of course he could also give up the properties and just take the money but if he directly cashed out he definitely wouldn’t get the market price so the best way was to sell them himself after getting them but that would depend on the specific location of the resettlement housing if it was an area that would greatly appreciate in the future he would definitely keep it.

And while waiting for the demolition payment Jiang Qin had no plans to idle.

He would withdraw another 270,000 to do some business.

No matter how you put it buying demolition properties was still speculation but real entrepreneurship was completely different if he wanted to quickly enter the state of being an entrepreneur he had to be familiar with business processes and routines.

So he would use this 270,000 as start-up capital to do some small things in Jizhou as a test run before formally starting a business.

Just as he was thinking the music beside him abruptly stopped.

    The ride time was over.

But Feng Nanshu sat on Hello Kitty unwilling to get off her eyes still gleaming with unfinished desire.

Jiang Qin smiled helplessly fishing a coin out of his pocket and placing it in her palm.

“Come play with me.” Feng Nanshu pointed to the other ride beside it.

“Me? A grown ass man a Mr. Macho an unparalleled stud don’t be ridiculous…”

Three minutes later a “What Do You Call Dad’s Dad” duet began playing from the small shop entrance.

Jiang Qin sat in the ill-fitting cab swaying with Hello Kitty an amazed expression appearing on his face.

    This thing…

    Is really frickin fun!

After swaying for a while the two frenzied Hello Kitties finally stopped and the shop owner came out brows furrowed eyes brimming with murderous intent.

    How much do kids weigh?

How much do you a tall strapping young man weigh?

Do you have any fucking sense?

But Jiang Qin didn’t notice the shop owner’s expression reaching into his jeans pocket and pulling out the old Nokia his dad had used.

He had felt something buzzing the whole time he was on the ride only realizing it was the QQ message notification sound after opening the phone the 2008 version mobile QQ ringtone was simply antique enough to kill.

“Bro Jiang guess where this class reunion is being held!”

“Okay okay I won’t keep you in suspense the reunion location is also in City Center what a coincidence right?”

“Qin Zi’ang booked a class banquet at the nearby Longwei Hotel I’m heading there now I must eat that stupid dog to tears today!”

“Right aren’t you also near City Center? I’ll come find you after eating let’s go home together!”

Guo Zihang’s avatar was a long-haired man wearing sunglasses the picture even had an emo filter over it a total non-mainstream look.

Jiang Qin found it hard to understand his actual appearance was short fat and dark but he insisted on using a skinny as a little chick man as his avatar what kind of operation was that.

    I’m buzy…

Fuck this nine-key physical keyboard is too damn hard to use!

Jiang Qin directly pressed the end call button returning to the home screen having no patience to reply to the message.

“Little rich girl where do you want to go next?”

    “To eat junk food!”

Feng Nanshu stretched out her hand her white jade-like fingers pointing to the snack shop ahead eyes sparkling.
