Chapter Index

In his previous life, Jiang Qin was a student at Linchuan University majoring in International Trade so he was very familiar with that city and decided to return there in this life.

Starting a business in a familiar city would be much easier.

Hearing Jiang Qin’s answer, Feng Nanshu rubbed her face and then stared blankly at the snack bag she had just showed off, lost in thought.

At this moment, the Nokia phone on the table suddenly flashed. Jiang Qin unlocked it and found it was a QQ message from Wang Huiru.

“Jiang Qin, Chu Siqi got a score of 632, what about you?”

“She asked you to come ask me, right?”

“Well, you guessed it, she did ask me to ask.”

“My business has nothing to do with her, just tell her that.” Jiang Qin typed out a line on the physical keyboard and hit send.

Wang Huiru was stunned: “Jiang Qin, you and Chu Siqi don’t have any deep grudges, right? Even as classmates, it’s normal to ask about grades. Don’t always be like this.”

    “How am I being?”

    “Very petty!”

Jiang Qin was getting better at using the physical keyboard: “Petty is petty then, let her think what she wants.”

Wang Huiru sent an ellipsis: “Jiang Qin, Chu Siqi did nothing wrong. It’s her right to reject you but you can still be friends even if you can’t be lovers.”

“So it’s my fault? Choosing not to get entangled is also my right. I don’t want to be friends with her.”

    “But why?”

Jiang Qin switched to one-handed typing: “She just thinks the whole world should like her and revolve around her. Whatever she says goes. If she tells someone to go east, they absolutely cannot go west. I’m not blessed enough to enjoy a friend like that. It’s annoying, really annoying.”

Wang Huiru was silent for a while: “I know Siqi is a bit tsundere but that’s part of her charm, isn’t it?”

“Being a little tsundere is fine but she crosses the line too much. Like that day on Central Street in front of so many people she ordered me not to leave. By what right? We’re not even friends yet she said if she doesn’t let me leave then I can’t leave. Does she think the Earth revolves around her?”

“Talk to her properly and let her change.”

Jiang Qin frowned: “Why should I waste time on her? If this friend doesn’t work out I’ll just find another one. What’s wrong with that?”

Wang Huiru’s reply was obviously much more hesitant: “Nothing’s wrong with that but are you sure you don’t hate her because you love her and are intentionally saying this?”

“I’ve already made myself very clear. How can you guys still think that way? I guess Chu Siqi thinks the same, that I can’t face losing face after being rejected so I’m playing hard to get?”

“No no, I don’t think that. Jiang Qin, don’t misunderstand!”

Jiang Qin continued typing on the physical keyboard: “Classmate Wang, actually I don’t even want to say a single extra word to her. The only reason I’m explaining so much to you is out of respect for you. Understand?”

When Wang Huiru saw this reply, her heart instantly softened: “Then I’ll talk to her properly and tell her not to bother you for a while.”

    “Not for a while. Forever.”

“Jiang Qin, saying it like that is too hurtful. When she rejected you she still left a ray of hope and even encouraged you. Can you not be so cold to her?”

“Geez, bringing this up leaves me speechless. What do you mean persist and there will be hope? You call that encouraging me? She doesn’t have feelings for me. She just hasn’t met someone she really likes yet so she feels lonely and thinks I can keep her company. When she meets someone she likes, she won’t even remember who I am.”

    “…”

“Classmate Wang, sometimes hurtful words are good. They provide a clean break and prevent us from harboring too many illusions about each other.”

Upon seeing this reply, Wang Huiru instantly fell silent as she suddenly recalled her conversation with Chu Siqi on Central Street.

[“Siqi, what if you meet someone you really like in the future?”]

[“Then of course I’ll choose the one I like. You don’t expect me to choose Jiang Qin just because he’s persistent, do you?”]

She knew Jiang Qin was absolutely right so she had no grounds to refute him. She even vaguely felt herself siding with Jiang Qin.

“Alright Jiang Qin, I know what to do now.”

“Classmate Wang, it was a pleasure chatting with you but please never look for me about her business again. I don’t want to ruin my mood for a whole day, okay?”

    “I’m sorry.”

“It’s fine as long as we’re clear.”

After the chat ended, Wang Huiru sighed and couldn’t help but zone out.

It seemed Jiang Qin really had zero lingering feelings towards her best friend. He had even grown to detest and reject her.

    Then what about Feng Nanshu?

Was she really dating Jiang Qin?

She was a young miss who got picked up and dropped off by a Bentley. She was also the dream girl of countless boys at South City High School. The boys who secretly had crushes on her could line up all the way from South City High School to the city center. Yet Jiang Qin was pinching her cheeks and she was acting all cute and spoiled. Who would believe it if word got out?

Even Wang Huiru wanted to ask: By what right?

Jiang Qin was quite good-looking and tall with good grades but she still didn’t believe he could win over Feng Nanshu.

Feng Nanshu was known for being aloof at school. She didn’t talk to anyone. She gave off a noble aura as if telling everyone not to approach her.

Forget about pursuing her, some boys felt inferior the moment they approached her, as if they had eaten the gall of a dog to even dare harbor such an extravagant wish. Did they not know what they looked like?

So this made no scientific sense!

Wang Huiru felt she understood Jiang Qin less and less. Then she couldn’t help but think of her best friend again.

Siqi was still throwing a haughty fit even now, waiting for Jiang Qin to regret it and apologize to her. She had no idea so much had happened in this short half a month.

Wang Huiru picked up her phone again, found Chu Siqi’s QQ number, and sent her a message.

“I just asked Jiang Qin. He said his business has nothing to do with you and told you not to contact him anymore.”

“That jerk! How can he talk like that? Didn’t you curse him out for me?”

“Siqi, forget it. You already rejected him. Just forget about him from now on.”

In a bedroom somewhere in Fenglin Estates, Chu Siqi who was wearing pajamas got furious. She fiercely flung the college guide in her hand at the opposite wall, her eyes also welling up with tears.

That Jiang Qin, he hated that she rejected him so he was desperately trying to piss her off!

Yes, he succeeded. She was indeed pissed off.

But after holding it in for so long, wasn’t he miserable? He was simply torturing himself to save face.

Actually, Chu Siqi had her own considerations in having Wang Huiru ask about Jiang Qin’s grades. She wanted to give Jiang Qin a way out, hinting that he shouldn’t keep fighting with her.

Because she had grown more and more vexed lately, constantly staring at her phone, fantasizing about Jiang Qin sending her a message saying “I was wrong”.

It had nearly become an obsession.

She didn’t use to care so much about Jiang Qin but now her mind was filled with nothing but him. Chu Siqi didn’t like this version of herself at all, much less this feeling of losing control.

But she never imagined Jiang Qin would be so heartless. He was truly an ingrate!

Fine, no contact right? Then no contact it is. Whoever contacts the other is a dog!
