Chapter 247: Little Rich Girl: I’ll Hold You Again Next Time
by xennovelThe soft-spoken words that reached Jiang Qin’s ears instantly stunned him.
How could the usually cold moonlight-like beauty suddenly sound so needy?
He stared dazedly at the gorgeous little rich girl with long lashes and pink lips suspecting he misheard. After a while, he wiped his drool still looking proud as ever.
“No we can’t hug. Did you forget we’re just friends? Hugging would make our friendship impure very dangerous.” Jiang Qin tried to scare her.
Feng Nanshu looked at him coldly: “Jiang Qin friends can hug.”
“Who said that? That’s nonsense. How can someone say something so irresponsible? Simply outrageous!” Jiang Qin fumed.
“But but you said that.” The little rich girl said pitifully.
“How could I possibly say such a thing?”
“When we showered together you hugged me and poked my butt with your phone. Then you said friends can hug.”
Jiang Qin was stumped for a moment: “Well I did say that but feeding you holding your little hand is already crossing the line. Hugging you too would be improper.”
“You ate my feet too.” Feng Nanshu added for him.
“We agreed not to mention that.”
“Brother hug.”
Jiang Qin pondered for a while: “Hugging between friends is fine so hugging once means we’re still friends?”
Feng Nanshu nodded seriously: “Best friends forever.”
Jiang Qin felt she was changing the concept but had no proof.
“Alright let’s go!”
The transition from dusk to night is very short just the blink of an eye. Plus Linchuan University’s maple forest is lush and vast the moment you enter it’s dark and tranquil.
Jiang Qin turned left and right finding a corner then turned and hugged the fragrant soft little rich girl holding her slender waist.
Feng Nanshu instantly showed a delighted expression burying her head in his chest rubbing a few times her heart felt hot.
“Why do you like sticking to me so much?”
The little rich girl shook her head gently: “I don’t know either.”
Jiang Qin fell silent for a moment hugging her tighter: “This is only known between us. Absolutely don’t tell Gao Wenhui or I won’t hug you next time.”
“I know.”
“You won’t go back on your word this time right?”
“I won’t but you have to keep your word too. Hug me again next time.”
Feng Nanshu kept her face against his chest her voice sounding a bit muffled but she still grasped the key point with a single sentence clever as can be.
As it got darker the maple forest became even more serene. The little rich girl stood stiffly at first thinking hugging was just two people standing straight holding each other looking a bit silly.
But gradually she started softening in Jiang Qin’s arms like a kitten learning instinctively.
When it got even darker more couples came to the grove of course they weren’t just friends so their moves were fancier than theirs.
The most common was the kind glued together which the little rich girl watched eagerly.
But before she could watch her fill a hand covered her pretty eyes and picked her up turning her in another direction.
“Do it again.”
Jiang Qin was stunned: “Do what?”
The little rich girl poked her face out from his chest: “The picking up and turning thing.”
“That wasn’t playing it was to keep you from seeing what you shouldn’t.”
Jiang Qin coughed: “Alright happy times are always short. I think that’s enough for today let’s stop here.”
“Hug for five more minutes.”
Jiang Qin lowered his head rubbing her cool ear: “Ticklish?”
The little rich girl was thrilled: “Ticklish.”
“Okay let’s stop here our friendship almost changed in nature. Good thing I stopped in time!”
“?”
Jiang Qin suddenly let go taking a deep breath then found a bench to sit pulling down his short sleeves.
It’s no good when the temperature rises there’s no way to wear a jacket so he could only cool down with time.
After about half an hour Jiang Qin felt better so he immediately took the little rich girl out of the maple forest turning left and right to send her back to the dorm so she wouldn’t learn too much here.
Then he returned to the dorm opened the computer and watched an episode of “Pleasant Goat and Big Big Wolf”.
“Bro Jiang were you sleepless again last night?”
Early the next morning Zhou Chao got up from bed and couldn’t help asking his eyes full of curiosity.
Jiang Qin smiled lightly: “No I slept even better than usual sound asleep until dawn.”
“Bro Jiang sleeplessness isn’t embarrassing why are you hiding it?”
“You’re still half-asleep want me to help close your eyes?”
“No no.” Zhou Chao shrank his head back into the covers.
Jiang Qin put on his clothes arrogantly and started doing sit-ups. After finishing he touched his stomach feeling it seemed a bit harder than before but wasn’t sure if it was his imagination.
At the same time on the top floor of Wanzhong Mall group-buy information technology limited company.
The twelve people in the marketing planning department were divided into six teams. With Wanzhong as the center point they began surveying and collecting data for the divided areas before the ground promotion.
For senior marketing veterans with five years of experience these tasks were quite easy to handle.
But for inexperienced employees though it was planning work, having to go out and run around like salespeople pulling in customers everywhere felt very confusing.
Especially as Linchuan’s temperature gradually rose running outside for a morning was quite torturous.
The newly hired Deng Yuan and Zhang Yu ran for a few days their skin darkening a shade. Every day when they returned to the rental house they just wanted to immediately shower and sleep.
But they couldn’t sleep because after collecting the data they had to organize it and compile it into a promotion plan. This kind of exhaustion was really uncomfortable.
“I said in small companies there’s no such thing as a high-paying and relaxing job.”
Roommate Liang Xiao just finished brushing her teeth seeing Deng Yuan and Zhang Yu collapsed on the couch. She couldn’t help blurting out a snide remark.
Actually she also participated in the first round of interviews and received a notice for the second round. But after learning it required ground promotion work she immediately gave up not even going to the second interview.
Just kidding as a university student summer was almost here going out to run around wasn’t that asking for death?
“Manager Yue said we only need to run for a few days familiarizing ourselves with the surrounding environment. Then when we write the planning book there will be day laborers to implement it.”
Deng Yuan couldn’t help defending.
“Which boss doesn’t say that now? There’s not enough manpower now it’ll be better later. In the end people tire themselves out never seeing that future.”
“Manager Yue isn’t our boss.” Deng Yuan couldn’t help replying.
Liang Xiao frowned: “Then who is your boss?”
“Haven’t…haven’t met yet.”
“My god the boss doesn’t even show up? Could the company be preparing to run away anytime?”
Deng Yuan frowned upon hearing this: “Impossible although we haven’t met the boss Manager Yue is a very good person.”
“Can you tell if someone is good or bad just by looking? Bad people don’t write ‘bad’ on their faces. Luckily I didn’t go to the second round.” Liang Xiao couldn’t help patting her chest making a relieved expression.
Zhang Yu was a bit annoyed from listening: “Alright alright anyway we already started the job. Let’s do it seriously for a month first at least to get the salary.”
“…”
Three days later Friday the twelve promotion plans from the marketing planning department were all submitted brought back to Room 208 by Wei Lanlan.
After everyone’s discussion and research three plans were placed in front of Jiang Qin.
One was written by a senior marketer with five years of experience one was written by someone who had done internet projects and one was special written by a fresh graduate named Deng Yuan.
As for the others’ they basically had some slacking off.
“For our first round of ground promotion let’s run in the areas these few people are responsible for. Reorganize the remaining nine mix them into these three groups with Ma Changlong Hai Shuang and Deng Yuan as team leaders.”
“That Deng Yuan seems very young just graduated from school last year.” Wei Lanlan hesitated.
Jiang Qin was stunned for a moment: “Already graduated then isn’t she more mature than me?”
“Um…that’s true.”
“So aspiration isn’t about age. Young people have more drive. Anyway we’re not asking them to do the ground promotion themselves just to be responsible for overall planning and coordination. So I prefer using young people at least they’re serious but old foxes are hard to control.”
Jiang Qin patted the plans on the table: “Also these three plans are well-written. Give 500 yuan bonus for each.”
“Yes boss.”
That afternoon Wei Lanlan returned to Wanzhong Mall and reorganized the marketing planning department’s groups with Yue Zhu. Then according to Jiang Qin’s intention distributed the three bonuses.
Actually bonuses have two effects: one is to reward the rewarded and the other is to motivate the unrewarded.
The new team just formed lacking cohesion and centripetal force. But Jiang Qin had no time for other tricks so he directly gave money.
As the old saying goes: under light rewards there must be brave men!
But Deng Yuan who received the money was quite confused. 500 yuan just like that? Wasn’t that too crazy?
The craziest thing was she didn’t even have a full year of work experience yet but was actually chosen as a team leader?
Deng Yuan clutched the money feeling a great sense of responsibility. So she called Zhang Yu and with the plan in hand ran through her responsible area again checking for missing pieces not returning to the rental house until 10 PM.
Hearing the door open Liang Xiao and Qian Lele immediately turned off the TV. They had prepared a belly full of snide remarks but seeing Deng Yuan and Zhang Yu they couldn’t help being slightly stunned.
“Why did you buy so many things?”
Deng Yuan wiped her sweat putting the bags on the table: “Um…the company gave out bonuses. We bought some meat and vegetables. Let’s have hotpot tonight to celebrate.”
Liang Xiao was stunned for a moment: “Bonuses? How much?”
“500 yuan.”
“Isn’t your monthly salary only 2000?”
Zhang Yu knew Liang Xiao had a twisted personality. She wished everyone was worse off than her. Seeing others doing well she felt the world was wrong.
But since they lived under the same roof she didn’t want to make a scene. So she pulled Deng Yuan into the kitchen not letting them interact too much in case Liang Xiao found more things to nitpick.
Before long the sizzling hot pot was on the table the ingredients filling up the dining table.
Liang Xiao ate while feeling depressed as if she had lost 500 yuan.
“I think there’s a problem with your company.”
“Think about it you’ve only been working for three days and they paid you 500 yuan first. Plus you don’t have much work experience how is that possible!”
Qian Lele nodded: “I think Liang Xiao is right Deng Yuan you should be more cautious. If things aren’t right resign immediately.”
After hearing this Liang Xiao expressed strong agreement: “Maybe this 500 is just bait. You might end up working for nothing and not getting paid.”
