Chapter Index

The next morning in the hotel’s breakfast buffet 208 gathered around to eat but no one dared mention going to climb the Great Wall as if they had never discussed it before.

Damn it was too tiring. Visiting three or four attractions in one day my legs were trembling when I woke up this morning not to mention them even special forces couldn’t handle it let alone climbing the Great Wall? Climb my ass!

Especially the air quality here staying too long really makes one uncomfortable.

    “Today……”

“Boss let’s play poker today!” Dong Wenhao cut in.

Jiang Qin nodded in full agreement: “Sure let’s play poker. Playing poker exercises the brain without tiring the legs. Everyone traveling should stay in the hotel and play poker.”

Although the boss’s words were as ridiculous as when he said he’d let everyone enjoy themselves wildly at the moment no one disagreed.

Traveling is for fun ruining your legs is not worth it.

So after finishing breakfast everyone went to Dong Wenhao’s room splitting into several groups and started chatting while playing poker.

    “One three.”

    “Bomb.”

    “Three fives.”

    “Bomb.”

Lu Feiyu widened his eyes: “Boss are you crazy? You’re shouting bombs right at the start?”

Jiang Qin smiled: “I’m rich I’m loaded you have a problem?”

Su Nai propped her chin beside him looking completely baffled: “Why is the boss so arrogant today? His poker skills are really bad without the lady boss even an eight-year-old could make him cry?”

“Because we’re not playing for money today. You try playing for money the boss will take three minutes just to choose cards.” Dong Wenhao revealed the truth.

“Then why aren’t you playing for money?”

“As soon as we do the boss will have the lady boss sub in and then you’ll see what it means to have your salary taken back. Can’t win no way to win.”

    “……”

Chatting while playing the carefree days flew by. Early the next morning the fifteen boarded a morning flight leaving the capital and landing in Shanghai.

As a first-tier city comparable to the capital Shanghai gave a much more modern first impression.

The 208 basically all knew Feng Nanshu was a local little rich girl in Shanghai so as soon as they left the airport they immediately looked to her. In their eyes this was the lady boss’s home turf she must be incredibly familiar with the city.

But the little rich girl was dumbfounded for a long time as if she couldn’t even tell east from west.

Jiang Qin laughed to himself thinking the little rich girl was still a hopeless recluse a year ago not at all like her current domineering state opening her mouth to whine.

Yes she was from Shanghai but the place she lived since childhood was Jizhou. Although she came to stay for a while every holiday she didn’t dare go out herself so she didn’t know the city at all.

Think about it she even dared to argue the earth was round when she rode her scooter in the wrong direction how could you expect her to be a guide?

“Seeing you so muddled I feel reassured.” Jiang Qin was in a great mood.

    Feng Nanshu: “?”

“Here’s what we’ll do. Let’s check into the hotel first then look up routes and gather to discuss when we eat.”

    “Okay boss.”

The group then left the airport heading to a hotel near the university district to check in. After resting for about two hours Jiang Qin held a banquet in the first floor hall to discuss the three-day “travel plan”.

Jiang Qin was the type who really liked standardized procedures doing things rigorously planning every step.

Just like when doing Zhihu and group buying each time he would first find a suitable promotion method at Linchuan University then refine and standardize it into a complete implementation standard.

For this market research he still followed his previous habit having everyone refer to the experience in the capital to conduct group surveys of several university districts in Shanghai.

Standardized procedures can maximize work efficiency this is practice makes perfect.

So on the second day after arriving everyone split up and with pre-arranged guides went to different university districts for research.

Promoting Zhihu was relatively easy. Even just sneaking into the library and leaving the URL in the most frequently borrowed books would definitely get a dozen new registrations because it was inherently popular.

But promoting Zhihu was actually to pave the way for group buying so they had to consider both sides while researching.

After finishing the first day’s task everyone was exhausted.

This was mainly because Shanghai had eight university districts scattered in different areas. Even if they only surveyed one or two schools in each district with manpower dispersed the workload was huge.

This time even Jiang Qin personally took the little rich girl to inspect the university district in Songjiang.

This was the significance of market research because each region has its own characteristics and habits. Some places have universities concentrated some dispersed. For different situations subsequent promotions naturally have to adopt different methods.

Like Shanghai and the capital the choice of entry point and methods would be completely different.

“I feel like I walked around the Forbidden City twice today plus climbed the Great Wall twice…” Dong Wenhao’s eyes had lost their spirit.

Lu Feiyu also lay on the table his voice weak: “Sister Xuemei can you check if my legs are still there?”

    “They’re not.”

    “You didn’t even look.”

Lu Xuemei’s whole body was soft she didn’t want to lower her head at all: “If you don’t believe me look for yourself.”

Lu Feiyu waved his hand: “Forget it whether they’re there or not is irrelevant I’ll lie here a bit longer.”

Just then Jiang Qin and Feng Nanshu walked in from outside holding hands and sat in the main seats: “Where’s Nainai? And Lanlan why aren’t they here?”

Dong Wenhao raised his hand at the sound: “They went to buy milk tea.”

“They should be back soon right?”

“They’ve been out for ten minutes they should be back any minute.”

“Alright then let’s start serving food. We’ve been out all day without a proper meal.”

The group then ate and discussed the day’s research the atmosphere in the banquet hall gradually livening up.

Su Nai and Wei Lanlan also returned to the private room over ten minutes later joining the discussion.

Time was tight in Shanghai and the tasks heavy. Plus with everyone dispersed most people’s research results were incomplete. Other than Jiang Qin Dong Wenhao and Wei Lanlan almost no one had figured out the promotion focus.

So on the second day they decided to go again. One to collect questionnaires two to reorganize yesterday’s research.

But because the journey was too long and the timing uncertain they decided to leave their luggage at the hotel reception planning to move to the Bund area to stay after returning then enjoy themselves to the fullest!

“Boss 15 pieces of luggage storage costs 300 yuan.”

“Fuck storing luggage costs money?” Jiang Qin couldn’t believe it.

Wei Lanlan nodded: “They said there were too many and expensive items like computers and cameras so they charge separately. We can not pay but then they’re not responsible if anything is lost.”

“Then why don’t I just get a separate room to store luggage?”

“So this operation is really mind-numbing……”

Jiang Qin waved his hand thinking he had already spent tons of money on this research a few hundred more didn’t matter. If it could be solved with money it wasn’t a problem.

So everyone stored their luggage two to a group and taking advantage of the not-too-hot early morning revisited the places.

By the time they finished revisiting it was already 3pm. The temperature was still high and the air felt sticky.

At that time Jiang Qin brought Feng Nanshu back from Songjiang to the hotel. As soon as they entered they saw Wei Lanlan Tan Qing and Su Nai surrounding a front desk clerk the atmosphere a bit heavy.

“What’s wrong? Why are you all gathered here?”

“Boss we stored 15 pieces of luggage but they only returned 13.” Wei Lanlan explained the situation with one sentence.

After hearing this Jiang Qin slightly frowned: “Whose luggage are the other two?”

Su Nai raised her hand at the question: “Mine. It had a Lenovo workstation worth over 10000 yuan plus Xuemei’s 5000 yuan computer and the company’s 8000 yuan DSLR.”

    “……”

Jiang Qin looked up at the clerk: “You lost luggage even after charging a storage fee?”

The male clerk quickly spoke: “Dear guests please don’t worry the luggage must be in the hotel it absolutely can’t be lost. Maybe it was stored separately I’ll arrange for someone to look for you right now.”

“What if you can’t find it?” Jiang Qin asked glancing at the name tag on his chest.

“Rest assured since we took a storage fee we’ll definitely ensure your luggage isn’t lost. I think it should still be in the storage room. Please wait a moment I’ll go check.”

The clerk turned and left the front desk entering the employee passage disappearing for a long time.

When he reappeared his expression had clearly become much more flustered not even daring to raise his head guiltily. Wei Lanlan originally wanted to ask about the result but unexpectedly the guy turned and entered the employee passage again.

“Did you find them or not?”

“Still……still looking please wait a moment.”

According to the original plan they should have already been at the Bund enjoying the city’s prosperous beauty but unexpectedly this little episode delayed them. But they had no choice only able to sit on the sofa and wait.

Doing business is like this never too smooth. Some small twists are just part of life.

Jiang Qin felt if he was interviewed again in the future he’d have new stories to make up. Doing business back then really wasn’t easy. Going to other places for market research even losing luggage.

“Su Nai Xuemei don’t be too anxious. Wait for the result first.” Wei Lanlan comforted.

Su Nai pursed the corner of her lips: “It’s fine if they find it but if not my innocence will be gone.”

Hearing this Wei Lanlan paused: “Why?”

“Because her computer has a lot of videos about the origin of life and the mysteries of love.” Jiang Qin revealed the truth.

Hearing this Su Nai couldn’t help exposing her little tiger teeth looking like she was about to bite someone.
