Chapter 32: The Disparity of Life
by xennovelAfter replying to the message, Jiang Qin stretched lazily but found his roommates staring out the window.
He curiously looked over and discovered the girls from Financial Class 3 buying things at the stalls outside. Song Qingqing and Jiang Tian were among them, their smiles as radiant as flowers.
“Jiang, don’t look. Even if you look, they won’t be yours.”
Jiang Qin came back to his senses, feeling it was damn ridiculous. “I was just curious what you guys were looking at!”
Zhou Chao couldn’t help pushing Cao Guangyu. “If he can’t get them, can’t you at least let Jiang Qin feast his eyes?”
Although Cao Guangyu didn’t agree Song Qingqing was number one, he acknowledged the first half of Zhou Chao’s sentence. “Jiang, change targets. I think Pan Xiu isn’t bad. Although she can’t compare to Song Qingqing and Jiang Tian, she counts as a beauty among average girls!”
Ren Ziqiang, who had been silent, suddenly raised his head. “Not Pan Xiu. I just added her QQ. Jiang, don’t compete with me. If it’s you, I might really lose!”
Hearing this, Zhou Chao and Cao Guangyu instantly widened their eyes. “Fuck, you moved so fast?”
“If you’re not proactive in chasing girls, you have a problem with your head!”
Jiang Qin couldn’t help spitting disdainfully. If he really wanted to find a girlfriend, would he need these three cowards strategizing here? Which eye of theirs saw he was interested in Song Qingqing?
Motherfucker, too much nonsense.
Seeing Jiang Qin’s contemptuous expression, Cao Guangyu, Ren Ziqiang and Zhou Chao couldn’t help exchanging glances.
“Jiang, are you unhappy? You’re a bit handsome, but you don’t have much chance against beauties of Song Qingqing’s level. Not to mention you don’t even have dating experience.”
“I agree. If you don’t believe it, you can go out and try. You’ll definitely be rejected and won’t know which way is north.”
Jiang Qin shook his head. “Too low value, not worth looking at.”
Zhou Chao pursed his lips. “Like hell I believe you!”
Jiang Qin glanced at him, thinking where he could find some bitter tea to wake them up? Don’t come down with diabetes from tasting sweetness.
Cao Guangyu looked at Jiang Qin, the corner of his mouth lifting.
Jiang was just shy. He clearly stared until his eyes went straight but still said he wasn’t interested. He was probably planning to secretly pursue her. But chasing that level of beauty was indeed difficult. Even a rich second generation like himself wasn’t confident, let alone Jiang.
But after Jiang Qin failed, he could strike like lightning and get Song Qingqing.
By then, Jiang Qin definitely wouldn’t be so nonchalant. He might even submit and happily be his underling.
The more Cao Guangyu thought about it, the more delighted he felt.
He always felt he couldn’t bluff as well as Jiang Qin, but in dating he could definitely get revenge.
“Fuck, quick look, a beauty!”
Just as everyone was having their own thoughts, Zhou Chao’s voice instantly pulled them back to reality.
Cao Guangyu and Ren Ziqiang looked in the direction he pointed, their eyes immediately freezing.
In the aisle between the tables, a girl carrying a light grey lychee-patterned purse came gracefully.
She wore acid-washed denim shorts, revealing fair, slender, delicate legs and outlining a thin waist. On top was a black letter T-shirt. Although not tight, due to her great figure, it created a tight-fitting effect.
As she approached, they could clearly see she was a standard pretty girl with an oval face, pink lips, charming eyes, and pearl-like earlobes with silver four-leaf clover earrings.
With just this hurried glimpse, the stunning impression Song Qingqing gave them vanished without a trace.
Song Qingqing first? Jiang Tian first? Forget it, all forget it.
But very quickly, this stunning feeling turned to panic.
Because they discovered the girl was actually coming straight for them, a slight shy smile on her delicate face.
These cowards didn’t dare raise their heads when seeing Song Qingqing. Now they were extremely nervous, all pretending to look elsewhere while subconsciously tidying their hair and smoothing their clothes.
But what they didn’t expect was the girl really sat down in front of them and tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear, then looked at Jiang Qin.
“I’m here.”
Jiang Qin raised an eyebrow. “You came just in time. These goods can finally wake up.”
Hong Yan blinked her pretty eyes, a trace of confusion in them. “What do you mean?”
“Nothing, just very happy to see you.”
“Thanks, but aren’t you guys having a group meal? Will I be interrupting by joining?”
Jiang Qin immediately shook his head. “Don’t worry, just sit. They deserve to be interrupted.”
Hong Yan giggled in puzzlement and glanced at the empty table. “You haven’t ordered yet? Should I treat?”
“We ordered but due to the large customer flow at the start of the semester, the chefs are too busy and the food is slow. Have some tea first?”
“Sure.”
Jiang Qin passed her his rinsed tableware and casually picked up the teapot to pour her a cup.
Hong Yan softly said thanks, eyes smiling, and placed her purse on the next chair.
Ren Ziqiang and Zhou Chao were dumbfounded, looking at Hong Yan then at Jiang Qin, the “fuck” on the tip of their tongues.
“Ji…Jiang, who is this?”
“A new student in the same year as us, Hong Yan from the law department.”
Jiang Qin turned to Hong Yan. “Let me introduce, these three are my roommates – Zhou Chao, Ren Ziqiang, Cao Guangyu.”
Ren Ziqiang dazedly looked at Jiang Qin. “You can actually get such a pretty girl to eat with you?”
Hong Yan suddenly coughed. “You misunderstood. I was the one who asked Jiang Qin out.”
“????”
Hong Yan smiled a bit embarrassedly. “I even took the initiative to add his QQ…”
Jiang Qin quickly waved his hand. “You said it too fast, not giving me a chance to speak first at all.”
“But I’m just stating facts.”
Hong Yan blinked, not feeling a girl taking the initiative was embarrassing at all.
In fact, she indeed came to see Jiang Qin with an unspoken anticipation.
Because from their first meeting, she discovered she had a rare good impression of and curiosity about Jiang Qin. She always felt he was unconventional yet admirably steady. He could avoid stealing the limelight at others’ gatherings and not follow the routine when paying the bill.
Simply put, Hong Yan felt he had the boldness of youth without the detestable arrogance, completely different from those loud, immature boys.
And meeting again this time, she found her anticipation wasn’t in vain.
He didn’t feel her actively approaching him was something to be proud of or use it to gain the admiration of those around him. Instead, he was very considerate of her feelings.
He was really great. That was enough.
At the same time, Ren Ziqiang and Zhou Chao got goosebumps listening.
They were just arguing if Song Qingqing or Jiang Tian was prettier and even thought Jiang Qin wanted to pursue Song Qingqing. Now it seemed this was a huge joke, completely hilarious. Jiang wasn’t on the same level as them at all.
Actively added by the goddess, actively asked out to eat – they hadn’t entered society yet but felt life’s disparity prematurely at this moment.
Were they really attending the same university, fuck!
“Cao, did you hear? This is unbelievable!”
“Yeah…”
The corner of Cao Guangyu’s mouth twitched as if he had something to say but after pondering for a while, he ultimately swallowed it back.
Actually, he knew Hong Yan because she was the campus belle at their high school and also his dream girl. But judging by her attitude, she probably didn’t remember him at all.
