Chapter Index

“Pleasant Goat and Big Big Wolf: Bulls Charge Ahead” is the first movie of the Pleasant Goat series. It is the founding film but lacks the story and structure of “Tiger Power.”

Elementary students might have commented that the plot is too stiff, the story disjointed, and the character setup questionable, but college students are shouting praises, eager for more.

So, the entire open-air movie showing filled with joy over an animated film.

About an hour and a half later, after watching “Bulls Charge Ahead,” a tall male student raised his hand, strongly suggesting they proceed with “Tiger Power!”

Thus, they watched “Tiger Power” again. Whether it was good, they didn’t know, but college students are not only clear but damn good at pulling all-nighters.

After the two movies, it was already late at night. Like a plate, the moon also shone to its fullest, perfectly aligning with the Mid-Autumn Festival’s spirit of reunion.

“Tiger Power is really good, makes me want to visit the amusement park.”

“There’s one nearby, not too big, but it has plenty of rides like bumper cars and a drop tower that can make you lose your shoes. You’re bound to lose one in every three pairs.”

“How do you know so much?”

    “Because I’m a local!”

“You’re local? So you’re spending Mid-Autumn with us who can’t go home?”

Local guy Ye Liangchen scratched his head, couldn’t help but glance at the girl sitting next to him, and smirked without a word.

Then they started planning—to pull an all-nighter watching movies and playing cards, hit the amusement park the next day for half a day, then return to the dorm to catch up on sleep.

Jiang Qin heard this and twisted his mouth, thinking what the hell kind of university students are these, so good at staying up?

Looking at Cao Guangyu and Ren Ziqiang, they were already hyped beyond words, itching to show off their manliness on the drop tower to forge a formidable boyfriend image.

Especially young master Cao, usually suppressed by Ding Xue, his desire to turn the tables was extremely strong.

Only Zhou Chao seemed sealed in the BBQ area. To him, neither Tiger Power, nor the moon, nor the amusement park mattered as much as a sizzling piece of grilled meat.

Jiang Qin extended a finger and poked Feng Nanshu’s smooth cheek: “Little rich girl, wanna go to the amusement park tomorrow?”

Feng Nanshu, zoned out watching the movie, turned her head after the poke and stared at Jiang Qin for a long while before her eyes sparkled, and she uttered: “Brother.”

“I asked if you want to go to the amusement park, not for you to call me that.”

Jiang Qin held his breath, his pride crumbling, yet he tried to look serious.

“No, I won’t go,” said the little rich girl, shaking her head sweetly.

“You’re really strange, you love riding the swing cars but don’t want to go to the amusement park? Do you not know what’s there?”

Feng Nanshu pursed her red lips and after a long silence, quietly said: “I visited the amusement park as a child but didn’t like it much.”

    Jiang Qin paused, “Why?”

“After my mother took me from my aunt’s place, seeing how much I wanted to play there, she took me. But she told me to stay put and went somewhere else. It seems she forgot about me, only coming to get me when the park was closing, scolding me for not listening and running around.”

Feng Nanshu’s tone was gentle, but a hint of fear flickered in her eyes.

It was as if she saw the crowded park again, people walking around her, talking and laughing, occasionally glancing her way.

All alone, she stood there, clutching the red balloon she got at the entrance, holding it high, hoping to be found.

From dawn to dusk, she behaved, not moving a step, yet she was only found after everyone had left.

“After that, I never mentioned wanting to go to the amusement park again.”

    “…”

Jiang Qin stared at her, his face slowly losing all expression.

The Feng family was powerful. For instance, when Qin Jingqiu visited Jizhou, she brought six attendants. How could they not find someone in an amusement park in one whole day?

So it was intentional, wasn’t it? Just like not allowing to hang couplets, forbidding bad grades, prohibiting socializing, and demanding home on time.

No wonder Feng Nanshu always wanted to hold hands, getting nervous whenever they parted, always asking if she would not be left behind. No wonder she felt suffocated in crowds and would look expressionless when scared.

Jiang Qin stayed silent for a long while but couldn’t bring himself to curse at the little rich girl.

“Jiang Qin, everyone has something they’re scared of, something unforgettable and unbeatable, but we can play dumb,” Feng Nanshu said, sounding like a philosopher.

Jiang Qin was startled, “All your stupidity is pretended?”

Feng Nanshu panicked, her face blushing, her hands flailing, “No, brother, hear me out, my stupidity is genuine.”

    “Is it?”

“Truly, I would never lie to you.”

    “…”

As the party went deep into the night and people who ate in the afternoon grew hungry, they gathered around the BBQ stand. The flickering flames danced, and the enticing aroma spread through the air.

Everyone had their fun and noise, and now they all stood with plates, eagerly waiting, except for Zhou Chao, who already filled his stomach and was now lying on a couch in the resting area, patting his belly, and watching the moon.

Damn, this Mid-Autumn Festival is excellent. If only it could happen again.

Of course, there were also those couples too hungry to eat, instead seeking the mysteries of life at Moral Pit.

Like Cao Guangyu and Ding Xue, Ren Ziqiang and Wang Linlin, and some other couples Jiang Qin had seen but couldn’t name.

However, as they were about to leave, Ding Xue whispered something to Feng Nanshu, who then returned to Jiang Qin saying, “Brother, let’s go!”

    “Aren’t you hungry?”

    “A mooncake will do.”

Feng Nanshu took a small bite from a mooncake then looked up at him, “Are you hungry? I can eat a bit more with you before we go.”

In the end, it looks like they had to go, Jiang Qin thought, cursing Ding Xue for ruining his friendships, fomenting unrest wherever she goes.

Alright, a grudge has been formed, and he’ll seek revenge on Old Cao in time. Then, putting down his plate, he took Feng Nanshu down from the terrace, stepping through the night to the agreed-upon Moral Pit.

The little rich girl didn’t have many thoughts or desires, content as long as Jiang Qin held her hand. However, once out of sight, being held in his arms was her favorite option.

Due to past traumas, she couldn’t properly feel emotional feedback, learning her feelings mainly through physical contact with Jiang Qin.

Hidden behind the bamboo at Moral Pit, the little rich girl straddled Jiang Qin’s legs, nestling in his embrace, holding half a mooncake, and melted outright.

Jiang Qin, feeling the well-developed girl against him, began a silent countdown.

    “10…”

    “9…”

    “…”

    “3…”

    “2…”

    “1…”

After counting down from ten, Jiang Qin expressionlessly raised his arm, blocking in front of his neck, not even looking, but accurately pushing back the little rich girl’s forehead.

Again? She’s kissing again, isn’t she? This little temptress couldn’t stay proper for ten seconds in his arms, always kissing after ten seconds.

Jiang Qin looked down at her, “I predicted your prediction.”

“Just a peck for your sister.”

The icy expression on Feng Nanshu’s face resembled a queen ready to lead a charge, yet her words were about wanting to plant strawberries, almost pleading.

Jiang Qin was reminded of the news he saw that morning, fearing being caught in a friend’s hands, so he shook his head firmly, not falling for the friendship trap.

Others might share classes, meals, sports, and studies with their best friends, or at most lie on the same bed for a pure chat. Who else, like the little rich girl, used their best friend as a strawberry field daily?

But Feng Nanshu was clearly addicted; not allowing kisses meant she wouldn’t settle down.

    “Let’s divert your best friend’s attention…”

Jiang Qin went silent for a moment then suddenly moved his face forward, close enough to the little rich girl’s face to smell her breath.

Before she could react, he took a deep breath and planted a gentle kiss on her plump, moist lips.

Mid-Autumn Festival, by its name, marks the middle of autumn, or deep autumn. Due to the cool air, Feng Nanshu’s lips were slightly cold but deliciously soft and moist.

Jiang Qin held her like that, kissing for about three minutes, finding the little rich girl even softer afterward.

    Damn, is kissing this delightful?

    Damn, damn, damn!

The inexperienced Boss Jiang was astounded, thinking that tasting wine was nothing compared to this truly elegant sweetness.

    “Hmm…”

After a while, Jiang Qin gently moved his face away, finding the little rich girl dazed, sitting in his arms, her cool little face blushed as if rouged, her beautiful eyes seemed to ripple with water.

She had always been a bit foolish, but such a foolish expression was rare.

Heh, playing nice now, aren’t you?

Not thinking about strawberries now, are you?

Jiang Qin was delighted, thinking no matter how cute or coquettish she acted, he had a surefire way to tame her!

    Life saved, wonderful!

“You had some mooncake crumbs on your mouth. I helped you eat them.”

Jiang Qin forced an explanation, like a true gentleman.

    “…”

Feng Nanshu looked like a soulless silly cat staring at Jiang Qin. If he hadn’t continued supporting her back and waist, she might have just collapsed.

Seeing this, Jiang Qin’s smile gradually faded, wondering why she stayed foolish so long. Did his kiss mess her up?

Then Feng Nanshu suddenly blinked and said seriously, “Jiang Qin, you kissed me.”

“No, you had some mooncake crumbs on your mouth, didn’t I just say that? You’re so soft now I need both hands to support you, I had to find another way.”

    “Mooncake crumbs…?”

As the old saying goes, friendship lowers one’s intelligence, making Feng Nanshu take a long while to respond. Then she dumbly raised her right hand, looking at the half-eaten mooncake, her expression thoughtful.

Jiang Qin was about to suggest they leave as he was getting hungry, wondering if there was still anything left to eat, but before he could speak, the little rich girl reached out to break off a bit of the mooncake, sticking it at the corner of her own mouth and calmly looked at her big bear of a friend.

    “What does this mean?”

“Brother, I accidentally got a bit on me again…”

Jiang Qin was silent for a moment, thinking how silly, so careless with eating, then he bent down and gently leaned in to kiss her lips again.

The initial kiss was a surprise attack, the little rich girl hadn’t reacted at all and tasted nothing.

But this time, she cleverly arranged the conditions herself, so it was a little nervous, her hands involuntarily tightened on Jiang Qin’s clothes, and her long legs couldn’t help but clamp together.

After a while, a night breeze blew over, bringing a chill. Couples who came to Pit to explore the meaning of life began to withdraw. Their footsteps also awoke the two.

So their lips parted, both gasping, their eyes glossier than before…

When they emerged from behind the bamboo corridor, the little rich girl was still a bit silly as Jiang Qin held her hand back to the terrace.

Jiang Qin then started calling people to clean up, moving sofas back to their places while directing the cleanup, he couldn’t help but glance at the little rich girl, noticing her circling the table they had dined at, seemingly looking for something.

“Nanshu, what are you looking for?”

“Sister Ding Xue, I’d like to take some mooncakes home.”

“You like mooncakes? But they’ve all been eaten.”

Feng Nanshu just said “oh” then patted her wallet, “I’ll buy some more when I return to school.”

Ding Xue was puzzled for a moment, wondering why, after half an hour in the bamboo grove, Feng Nanshu suddenly developed such an interest in mooncakes. What exactly had happened between her and Jiang Qin there?

“But the Mid-Autumn Festival has passed, the school probably won’t be selling mooncakes anymore. Even those unsold might have been returned.”

    “What?”

Feng Nanshu widened her beautiful eyes as if struck by lightning.

Simultaneously, Cao Guangyu came over with a broom and stood next to Jiang Qin, looking at his wildly grinning face, he felt a bit lost: “Old Jiang, why are you so happy?”

“It’s the festival, I just can’t help feeling a bit joyous. By the way, are you cold?”

Young Master Cao shook his head, “No, I’m not cold, my clothes are quite thick.”

Jiang Qin turned to him, “I didn’t change when I arrived, and my hands are a bit cold. Can I warm them in your wallet?”

    “?????”

Cao Guangyu stared at him unbelievably, thinking to himself he knew the tale of wolves turning into men at the full moon, but dogs turning into humans was definitely a first for him.
