Chapter 487: Wang Haini Is a Bad Person
by xennovelBefore long, the night deepened. After dinner, Feng Nanshu returned to her dorm, her little face set in an expressionless, intimidating demeanor that made many girls chatting in the hallway hush their voices.
It was as if an ice queen who was about to turn malevolent the very next second. Her expression was both cool and fierce.
And as the sound of her black leather shoes went “tap, tap, tap” on the smooth floor, a sense of oppression instantly emerged.
“Wang Haini is a bad person.”
“Wang Haini is a bad person.”
“Wang Haini is a bad person…”
The little rich girl muttered as she pushed open the door, rubbing her pert bottom which felt a bit fiery.
At the moment, Wang Haini was doing her laundry on the balcony. She blinked in confusion upon hearing her voice: “Feng Nanshu, what did you say? I thought I heard my name?”
“I said you’re a bad person.”
“Ah? Why would you say I’m a bad person?”
Feng Nanshu sat on the bed, lips pursed: “I tried that cool thing you taught me and ended up getting spanked by my brother.”
Gao Wenhui sat up startled, leaning over to look at her: “The cool stuff, like what Haini taught you in the cafeteria?”
“Yeah.”
Wang Haini came over, wiping her hands, looking puzzled: “What exactly did you say?”
Feng Nanshu looked up with clear eyes, remaining silent for a while, then spoke: “I just told him I wanted to borrow his spare phone.”
“?????”
Wang Haini took a breath, incredulous and with a trembling voice: “Feng Nanshu, you’re too direct! Even I wouldn’t dare say that!”
Feng Nanshu looked at her innocently: “It’s exactly what you taught me.”
“I… I phrased it that way to make it easier for you to understand. But you can’t just copy and paste it! If you do copy, at least phrase it subtly. And that was in the cafeteria, are you crazy?”
Gao Wenhui leaned forward, like a No-Face scene, hanging practically from the bed frame: “Did Jiang Qin only spank you? Did he say anything else?”
Feng Nanshu spoke expressionlessly: “He also said I was scamming for meals.”
“…”
Gao Wenhui held her breath, her brain flooding with imagery, then she wiggled back under her blanket causing it to flutter like waves.
Feng Nanshu puffed her cheeks, not understanding their joy, then kicked off her shoes, changed into pajamas, and climbed into bed with a roll.
The next morning, a golden dawn streaked across the sky, drawing a spectacular arch among the fish-scale clouds and fading into the distant horizon.
Jiang Qin headed to the third-floor lecture room with three buddies from the dorm and instantly noticed Wang Haini sneakily standing a book up to hide her face, as if pretending to be oblivious, an epitome of modern “see no evil.”
Seeing her guilty look, Jiang Qin knew he was not wrong about her!
No wonder she was the notorious Haini, who’d had four boyfriends in three years. Even two nuclear bombs by Nanako wouldn’t match the impact of this one.
“Wang Haini, looking spirited.”
“Jiang… President Jiang, you look as lively as a real Daniel Wu yourself.”
Jiang Qin smiled warmly: “I heard you like teaching? Or should I say being a biology teacher?”
Wang Haini took a deep breath, immediately denying: “No, I’ve never liked teaching or I would have taken the qualification exams… actually… it was all Gao Wenhui’s idea!”
Gao Wenhui chuckled: “Me again? I might as well open a kitchenware shop. You really are a genius!”
“Hey, wrong! President Jiang, did you not sleep well last night? You’ve got such dark circles.”
“I was up playing cards!”
Jiang Qin put on a serious face, then suddenly barked like a dog, startling Wang Haini into ducking behind her book again, but stifling a giggle.
A billionaire boss, always driven up the wall by his pals, you’ve got to admit it’s kinda cute.
She suddenly realized that romance was really no good; dating herself was only fun for barely ten minutes, but adding fuel to their friendship was truly interesting.
Meanwhile, Zhou Chao in the back row yawned endlessly, his eyelids heavy as if weighed down, resisting the pull to sleep.
Their dorm was a typical four-person room, bunk over desk, a bed on either end, any noise was massively amplified.
Normally, Jiang Qin slept perfectly well when traveling, never waking mid-night, steady as a rock. But last night, he was restless, tossing and turning, punching the pillow, peeved enough to spiral skyward.
Their steel frame beds made a deafening noise over slight movements, leaving Chao dazed till dawn.
“Jiang bro, I’m so tired…”
“Sleep then, don’t fight it when you’re tired, I know, there was an earthquake last night, nobody slept well.”
Chao swallowed, peering doubtfully: “But Cao bro and the others slept like logs.”
Jiang Qin leaned on his desk grunting: “Their side didn’t feel the quake.”
Zhou Chao was speechless, and after long consideration still didn’t dare sleep, not because of anything else but because the professor teaching this class detests seeing students asleep.
But he didn’t sleep; Cao Guangyu, however, lay down: “Sleep awhile, Chao. The three of us should.”
“Cao bro, how can you sleep too?”
“Don’t know. There was some noise last night, felt like I barely slept at all, waking up as if I hadn’t slept. Just managing to attend class already shows respect for the teacher.”
Chao whispered: “But Professor Wang doesn’t allow sleeping in class, it’ll affect grades.”
Cao Guangyu scoffed disdainfully: “Old Jiang sleeps in whatever class he returns from a trip. He isn’t scared, why should I be? I’m a rich second-generation, remember!”
Saying so, the rich second-gen covered himself with his coat, comfortably dozing off, even dreaming he won a school beauty contest, striding on stage to accept the award.
But, as Zhou Chao said, before long the lecturer woke him up.
“Student, wake up, pay attention in class. There’s not much time left this term. Do you think wasting time on your parent’s money is appropriate?”
“??”
Cao Guangyu, wiping drool, looked up: “Teacher, Old Jiang is also sleeping!”
“Jiang Qin? Ah, that lad, must be exhausted from work.”
“?????”
This professor once wanted Jiang Qin as his grad student. With those words, he picked up Cao Guangyu’s coat and laid it atop him: “Don’t sleep in class next time. It’s easy to catch a cold this season, and it might take a week to recover.”
“Thanks for your concern…”
Cao Guangyu had just thanked when he saw the professor gently wrap his coat over Jiang Qin.
“?????”
Chao glanced at him: “Sleeping in class can make you cold, so he stopped you from sleeping and covered Jiang bro with a jacket so neither of you would catch cold. Makes sense, right?”
Cao Guangyu was dumbfounded: “Sense my tail, he’s favoring him even in his sleep?”
After two classes, as the bell rang heralding the break, a buzz filled the air, everyone rushing to the restroom. Jiang Qin also woke up refreshed, and the two at the back finally lay down, snoring within three seconds.
“Hmm? Who covered me with a jacket? Li\<|vq_2439|>\ttle rich gir<|vq_2439|>\l did yo<|vq_2439|>\u do it?”
“Not me. I wanted to, but I only have a hoodie on.” Feng Nanshu felt regrettable.
“Really?”
The little rich girl paused, pulling her hoodie to show him, eyelashes fluttering softly, with a pure gentle gaze seemingly assuring him she’d never deceive him.
Jiang Qin was dizzy from disbelief, asking Wang Haini: “She learnt that from you, right?”
Wang Haini was also stunned: “No, absolutely not. I don’t even know that move, Feng Nanshu… is too much!”
Little rich girl: “?”
“That move was genuinely bold and brazen…”
Jiang Qin, clutching his chest murmured, thinking it was time to visit the library to find if there was a book on how to prevent being seduced by a friend into bed.
Wang Haini now felt a bit defeated, hugging Gao Wenhui’s arm, sounding sad: “Wenhui, I only know how to flirt in obvious ways, just low-level tricks. Feng Nanshu’s methods are far superior. If I knew what she does, I could be seeing four guys simultaneously!”
Gao Wenhui whispered: “I’ve always said she’s quite the expert.”
Jiang Qin curious about their hushed conversation asked Feng Nanshu: “What are they saying about me?”
“They said I’m a bit silly.” Feng Nanshu looked adorable.
“They’re not wrong, you are a bit silly.”
Jiang Qin patted Cao Guangyu: “Stop sleeping, you’ve slept through two classes. Come on, let’s step outside.”
Cao Guangyu, groggy, stared at him: “Dogs sleep through two classes. Oh, and give me back my jacket.”
“This is your jacket? No wonder it looked familiar. Love me that much, do you?”
“Yeah, yeah, love you, love you…”
Jiang Qin returned the jacket to Cao bro, carefully wrapping him in it, swearing he’d never annoy him again, unless he couldn’t help it after a long trip.
Meanwhile, Feng Nanshu watched him leave then picked up a pen and started writing Jiang Qin’s name in her textbook.
Gao Wenhui, resting her arm on the desk, watched her write earnestly, couldn’t help asking: “You like him that much, huh?”
Feng Nanshu nodded but remained silent, her pen still moving as sunlight streamed through the window, illuminating her innocent face, her eyes sparkling like stars.
