Chapter Index

After lunch, Jiang Qin kept his word and accompanied the little rich girl to the school infirmary for an IV drip.

Although Feng Nanshu typically comes off as an icy goddess, she’s actually quite meek, terrified of needles, gripping Jiang Qin’s hand tightly during the procedure.

“It’s about forty minutes. I’ll grab some food. Don’t do anything besides the injection, okay?”

“This bed isn’t very sturdy. It can’t take much tossing around.”

As the nurse left, she warned them sternly, implying more than what was spoken.

Jiang Qin was shocked, wondering just how many have tested this bed for such a specific caution.

He also felt slightly annoyed, inwardly protesting why she could admonish others but not him, failing to see the pure friendship he shared with this enthralling celestial maiden.

You may think I resemble Daniel Wu, magnetically attractive, yet my pee can frighten zombies!

Feng Nanshu squinted seriously, comparing the infirmary to those seen in online videos.

    “Lie still. Don’t move.”

    “Got it.”

After a moment of silence, Jiang Qin forcefully rattled the bed railing, scoffing, “Scare me? It’s plenty sturdy. It could withstand a brawl with heavy hitters.”

Feng Nanshu stared blankly, “Brother, it seems you do want to do more than just inject.”

    “Nonsense. Not in the slightest.”

Jiang Qin then took out an apple, peeling and cutting it into small pieces to feed her.

Feng Nanshu obediently opened her mouth, eyes sticky with affection.

Perhaps her fever hadn’t subsided; she kicked off the blankets and dangled her feet clad in white socks over the edge.

    But why was there wildlife?

Surprised, Jiang Qin caught her delicate feet and expertly removed her socks.

Her feet were pale, adorable, and tender, but chilled despite his long rubbing.

Isn’t it said that only the unloved have cold feet? Yet here I pamper her and still, her feet are cold, almost drove me to kiss them!

Then, Feng Nanshu swiftly tucked her feet back under the covers, wary as a cat.

“Jiang Qin is a bad boy. No snacks for you.”

“Huh, can treats now fly away?”

Jiang Qin reached into her blanket, seeking and delicately tickling her sole, eliciting tiny whimpers.

Eventually, he too slid under the covers, squeezing onto the small bed with Feng Nanshu.

She curled into his embrace, face upturned – both cool and foolishly adorable.

Women are soft and delicate. Her impressive figure, combined with a slight fever, made her irresistibly cuddly.

Their eyes met, feeling each other’s breath and the warmth of their skin. Their friendship seemed to heat up.

“Keep still. If the needle falls out, we’ll have to start over.”

    “Brother, you’re the one moving.”

“Nonsense, I haven’t moved at all.”

Feng Nanshu paused, her hand creeping to find evidence but was caught by Jiang Qin, aborting her pursuit.

Every spirited university student knows, some body parts don’t follow the brain’s commands.

They then stared down each other, silent, blinking or twitching noses occasionally, interspersed with bizarre noises to catch the other’s attention.

Such juvenile yet pure actions weren’t missing between them, behaving like young lovers.

Three years have passed since that summer break. Their attachment has grown warmer as June approaches.

Jiang Qin wouldn’t admit it, but he knew he couldn’t bear to lose Feng Nanshu.

The little rich girl who stole his heart, calling him ‘brother’, clinging to him – she’s become indispensable in his life.

He had pondered the impact of bankruptcy, discomfort yes, but still worth the experience.

Yet, he never dared contemplate losing Feng Nanshu, too fearful to even think of it.

“Kind of bored. Shall we kiss?”

    “Hmm?”

He pulled her close, gently pecked her lips before fully pressing his own to hers, savoring the sweet taste.

Feng Nanshu, unprepared for such directness, was momentarily dazed but soon reciprocated adeptly.

However, Jiang Qin hadn’t considered one thing.

They’d kissed standing, hugging, but never lying down, making this encounter far more intimate.

Previously, needing his support as she nearly melted into him during their kisses, but now, supported by the bed, his arms were freed.

A free arm during a kiss can be as daunting as a ticking bomb nearby.

Factoring in Jiang Qin’s wandering hand, he began a potentially perilous exploration.

The little rich girl was stunned, yet even as their lips remained locked, she couldn’t help but cry out, “Brother!”, gripping his shirt tighter.

Jiang Qin froze, realizing things might be moving beyond mere innocence.

    Was I always this bold?

    “…”

Afterward, he released her lips, lying back, overwhelmed by rapid heartbeats and sinking into silence.

People ought to have moral boundaries; otherwise, what separates us from beasts? It’s one thing to playfully tease, quite another to encroach further.

Feeling far too culpable, he criticized his impudence before cautiously retracting his hand.

Feng Nanshu nestled into him, not stirring until he gently tapped her back, prompting her to peek out from the covers, revealing just her pretty eyes.

    She blushed.

    “The drip’s almost done.”

“Brother, is there another bottle behind the cap?”

    “Hmm?”

    Bang—

It wasn’t Jiang Qin’s response that followed but the loud crash of the bed collapsing on one side.

Jiang Qin’s body dipped sharply, barely saving himself and Feng Nanshu by cushioning her fall.

Breath held, he lay there with the serious-faced little rich girl asking, “Brother, what do we do now?”

The nurse, timing her entry with the IV’s completion to remove it, preventing backflow.

Humming as she entered, the room fell silent at the sight.

“Great, typical college students. Always doing what they’re told not to.”

    “Hmm?”

Jiang Qin took a deep breath, “Don’t get the wrong idea. We did nothing inappropriate.”

Feng Nanshu nodded, “Not a bit.”

    “Exactly.”

The young nurse didn’t buy it, helping Feng Nanshu up while noting, “All that thrashing yet the needle didn’t displace. Impressive technique.”

Hearing praise for Jiang Qin pleased Feng Nanshu, “Sister, you’re kind and generous. Jiang is the best.”

Jiang Qin tapped her head lightly, “This isn’t the time for compliments.”

    “Hmm?”

“Leave your student ID and name. We might need to announce this across campus.”

Jiang Qin, alarmed, exclaimed, “Nurse, perhaps you’re unaware. I’m Jiang Qin.”

The nurse smirked, “Of course, I know who you are, Mr. Jiang, the billionaire. You’re the talk of the cafeteria. Not ignorant at all.”

    “So then…”

“No ‘so then’. It’s school property. We must record Vandalizing reasons. I can’t just claim it decided to commit suicide. Don’t make this hard, Mr. Jiang. But don’t worry, whether it goes further is up to the campus office.”

Later, Feng Nanshu returned to her dorm, continuously glancing at her chest before entering.

Gao Wenhui, writing a novel, was surprised by her early return, “Don’t you and Jiang typically stick together all day? Why so early today?”

“Jiang went to see the dean.”

    “Why?”

“We did something more than just get an injection.”

    “Hmm?”

Feng Nanshu eyed Gao Wenhui, “Wenhui, may I ask you something?”

Pausing her typing, Gao Wenhui responded, “What is it?”

“Do you still wet your pants?”

    “I’m grown. Of course not.”

Feng Nanshu paused, “So if Wang Haini did, would you laugh?”

Gao Wenhui burst out laughing, “I’d laugh till graduation!”

    “Oh.”

“Why ask? Did Wang Haini wet her pants?”

Puffed cheeks, Feng Nanshu remained silent before heading to the bathroom, locking the balcony door behind her.

Unbeknownst to Gao Wenhui, her flippant answer condemned her, stripping her of bathroom privileges until she showered her ‘little tiger.’

    “Announcement? What announcement?”

    “I… collapsed the infirmary bed.”

Inside the campus office, Dean Zhang checked the system, “Ah, just a broken leg. Get it fixed or replace it. Is this even worth announcing?”

Jiang Qin held his breath, cursing the nurse’s cunning, suspecting her animosity stemmed from a lack of friends.

Leaving the office, he called Wei Lanlan for help purchasing a sturdy bed for the infirmary—one that could withstand a brawl between titans.
