Chapter Index

Aunt didn’t stay long in Linchuan after sorting out the property matters, she hugged Feng Nanshu and left with Uncle Gong’s car.

Jiang Qin waved goodbye at the door, then planned to take Feng Nanshu back to Xitian to warm up.

He then noticed that since returning from Shanghai, the little rich girl has become unusually clingy.

She couldn’t let go of his hand while walking, pressing tightly against him, almost causing Jiang Qin to trip and fall in the snow.

There was a time when Jiang Qin was away on business trips almost every day for up to ten or fifteen days; he had never been clung to this much.

“Don’t hang all your weight on me and then slide!”

    “Then I’ll slip along.”

    “?”

“Isn’t that the same as sliding!”

The snow on the Linchuan University campus was thick, with areas rarely traversed blanketed in white, but the walkways, frequented by many students, were packed solid and slippery.

With Feng Nanshu clinging to him, and the path being difficult, they stumbled along, resulting in Jiang Qin smacking her buttocks several times.

She wore tight high-waisted jeans that perfectly outlined her firm, rounded buttock; a crisp smack resonated under his palm.

Then the little rich girl stopped, burrowed into his embrace, and wouldn’t move an inch further.

Jiang Qin had no choice but to hold her in his arms for a while and then patted her head, pondering before asking, “Were you not happy during your days in Shanghai?”

    “No.”

“Why do I feel your mood’s off then?”

Feng Nanshu looked up at him: “I miss my best friend.”

Jiang Qin fell silent for a moment, then lowered his head to her face and kissed her sweet yet slightly cold lips, stirring her soft tongue and giving her some strength from their friendship.

The little rich girl obediently closed her eyes, hands clenched into fists tucked into her sleeves, resting against Jiang Qin’s chest, letting him tease her.

Originally, the kiss was meant to comfort her as she seemed emotionally off, but once he tasted her sweet lips, he found it hard to stop.

Every young male student knows, facing such pure beauty in friendship, they have no self-control.

    “Brother.”

    “Hmm?”

Feng Nanshu, wiping her mouth, spoke: “I want to go home for fun.”

The little rich girl had just come from home, yet it sounded like she wanted to go back again.

If Aunt heard this, she would probably think she wanted to go back to Shanghai; others might think the same.

But Jiang Qin softly bit her earlobe and said: “Mom and Dad are always at work. Sure, you can go home, but then no one will cook for you.”

    “I’m not hungry at all.”

    “That’s just for now…”

After speaking, Jiang Qin noticed her nose was slightly red from the cold, so he led her to the south gate of the academic building, found a bench to sit on, and held his best friend in his arms.

Feng Nanshu, sitting on Jiang Qin’s lap, said nothing; her clear eyes looked through the window at the snowball fighters outside, eventually wrapping her arms around Jiang Qin’s arms and tapping her booted feet.

This girl, why is she whining one moment and cheerful the next?

Jiang Qin looked at the mature lady in his arms, counting her long eyelashes, and gazed at her stunning profile.

Then Feng Nanshu suddenly turned her head, caught him staring, and called him brother again.

“I’ll take you home for a stroll tomorrow.”

    “Okay.”

From the southern gate to the northern gate of the academic building, Jiang Qin brought Feng Nanshu to Xitian. Upon entering, he leaned on the radiator as Huihui brought a cup of hot water.

Gao Wenhui glanced at the time, calculating, and concluded they must have kissed before arriving.

“Nanshu, next time you come back, you must tell Jiang Qin the exact time. He squatted here all morning, starting from the early hours, watching the clock and his phone. It made it hard for me to slack off at work; being monitored by the boss is way too uncomfortable.”

Feng Nanshu stared blankly at him: “I told him last night, but he said he had something tomorrow and might not be able to meet. He also said friends don’t meet every day.”

    “But this morning he was…”

Gao Wenhui flipped open the notebook on the bar: “This morning he said, ‘Why is time passing so slowly?’ He said that thirteen times. ‘Is this clock broken?’ He said that fifteen times.”

Strolling at the school gate and bumping into his best friend, Jiang Qin frowned: “There goes your salary!”

Gao Wenhui scoffed: “Looks like I got my bonus!”

    “Wenhui is a good person.”

Jiang Qin laughed: “This encounter, just pure telepathy between friends.”

Gao Wenhui, already used to his obstinate nature, shook her head and placed two cups of hot water before them.

She felt the “friendship” between Jiang Qin and Feng Nanshu was getting more and more interesting to watch.

Especially as Jiang Qin’s status changed rapidly, especially since group-buy became a national company and his commercial became widely known. His fame and aura only grew, elevating his status from before.

Yet the more it grew, the greater the disparity in his doting on Feng Nanshu.

A domineering CEO, having had breakfast, squatted in the milk tea shop, eagerly waiting for his sweet wife’s plane to land.

Not to mention a sugar-craving fanatic like Gao Wenhui, even ordinary people couldn’t stand it.

After finishing the water, Jiang Qin couldn’t sit still anymore, especially after the casual encounter turned, in Gao Wenhui’s words, into him specifically waiting for the little rich girl.

No wonder Tonight’s Headlines was so hot right now.

    “Rumors stop with the wise!”

Jiang Qin put down his cup, turned, and went back to the academic building to get two leave slips from Zhang Boiqing.

He then returned to the milk tea shop and handed them to Gao Wenhui to pass on to the school.

By the next day, the snow had slightly melted, making it feasible to drive home.

Jiang Qin grabbed his bag, tidied up the car, and drove to the School of Finance to pick up Feng Nanshu.

Currently, Zhihu’s national campus belle and beau competition was underway; they had already organized it three times, relying on this venture for their initial success. The team was experienced and hardly needed his attention.

Additionally, Tonight’s Headlines had a large influx of creators settling in, virtually eliminating any major issues.

As for group-buy, it continued to penetrate deeper into the market.

The supply chain and community group buying were steadily aligned with the path of group-buy’s growth, essentially operating without Jiang Qin’s direct oversight, so staying at home for a few days wasn’t an issue.

But to neglect his studies completely, Jiang Qin felt he would be letting down his status as a star student of Linchuan unless Old Zhang was willing to refund his tuition.

When they arrived at Hongrong Homes, the elder men and women of the community were shoveling snow outside; Jiang Qin parked the car at the entrance.

The little rich girl got out of the car and immediately started shouting, “Jiang Qin’s family has arrived!” and ran towards Third Uncle’s convenience store.

“Wow, it really is Jiang Qin’s family.”

“No wonder when I opened the door this morning, there was always a magpie chirping on the electric pole across the street.”

Third Uncle, all smiles, welcomed her in to see the cute little magpie buying loads of lollipops and junk food.

Meanwhile, Jiang Qin parked the car, hands in his pockets, followed her to the door, then feigned annoyance at her buying too much but ended up happily paying.

The two of them walked through the freshly cleared road with big and small bags, greeted by many people who commented on how Feng Nanshu had either gained or lost weight or grown taller.

The voices of the somewhat vision-impair
