Chapter Index

Feng Nanshu was the most dazzling goddess of Chengnan High School and consistently ranked first. She was untouchable and the daughter of a mysteriously affluent family.

Even years later, students who graduated from Chengnan would recall that fleeting moment of stunning beauty when they thought of her.

It might have been a gentle sunny afternoon or an evening when the sky blazed with dawn.

She sat at a desk in a long dress, both cool and spirited.

Whether at that moment or in their memories, every beautiful scene and word seemed connected to her.

But no one expected that this seemingly aloof celestial girl would spend days lingering by the back door of class two, secretly watching a boy.

Chu Siqi did not understand, nor did Wang Huiru.

Si Huiying, from a different high school, also felt puzzled after a glance at Jiang Qin.

They soon realized Jiang Qin was quite surprised too, looking forward to asking her the reason for her actions, which almost caused the drinking Si Huiying to choke when he did.

“So you’ve been craving my body since then?!”

“I wasn’t craving at that time,” retorted Feng Nanshu, her face serious but her tone playful.

Jiang Qin narrowed his eyes at her. “Not then, so you started craving later?”

“Just a tiny bit, as much as a good friend might allow.”

Wang Huiru looked at Feng Nanshu. “Feng, why were you watching Jiang Qin in class two? Did you know each other back then?”

Jiang Qin glanced at the little rich girl. “During an early exam, I lent her a pen, and that made her think of me. Later she must’ve realized I was good-looking and tried everything to get close to me.”

    Wang Huiru was speechless.

Feng Nanshu quietly watched him, her eyes filled with joy.

The interview ended quickly, and Jiang Qin and Feng Nanshu started packing up to leave.

Wang Huiru’s confusion remained, mainly because she didn’t believe what Jiang Qin said.

But she believed Feng Nanshu’s part because now that she thought about it, the high and cold Feng Nanshu did always seem to be peeking into their class.

“Hey, Jiang Qin just said that Feng was craving his body.”

    Si Huiying whispered.

“Jiang Qin is genuinely handsome, and he does have a bit of humor.”

Wang Huiru gave a fair assessment, then tapped Chu Siqi, signalling it was time to leave.

Chu Siqi stood by the window, lost in thought about that moment, her gaze slightly stunned.

Wang Huiru and Si Huiying saw Jiang Qin’s humor, but only she realized that he truly liked her. Those eyes couldn’t lie.

Like a refreshing mountain breeze or warm ancient city light…

Meanwhile, Jiang Qin drove Feng Nanshu through the campus of East Campus and back to Linchuan University.

He had been silent the whole trip, imagining scenes of high school when the little rich girl secretly watched him and thinking about how surreal that seemed.

Even now that he kissed her daily and playfully flirted, he still found it unbelievable.

Feng Nanshu, of all people, sneaking glances at a boy next door seemed impossible.

Even if the boy looked as striking as Yan Tsu himself, Jiang Qin still found it hard to imagine.

“How long did you secretly watch me back in our sophomore year?”

“For a week. You ignored me, so I stopped.”

Jiang Qin pulled over to the roadside at the front square. “All this because I lent you a pen, and you wanted to be friends?”

As Feng Nanshu got out, she wobbled a bit. “Also, because I had a dream about you.”

“Why didn’t you ever tell me?”

“I didn’t dare enter your class, plus, at that time, brother wanted to make friends with other girls.”

Jiang Qin pulled her close and playfully spanked her, leaving the little rich girl dazed but slightly fierce.

As Gao Wenhui sat at Xitian, she witnessed this and perked up while Feng Nanshu rubbed her sore bottom and hurriedly ran into the shop.

“Wenhui, a cup of lemon vinegar.”

    “?”

Jiang Qin also walked in, not yet seated when Gu Chunlei sent over tomorrow’s script for the micro-movie.

The script was straightforward, asking him to act naturally in a role depicting a university entrepreneur, even incorporating “endorsement style,” adding a dreamy link to real life.

That’s when he noticed Chu Siqi’s name.

Known as the radiostation’s star and a favourite of Director Gu, ranking top on the first ‘Campus Beauty’ list, her involvement was not surprising.

However, the troubling part was she would share scenes with him.

Jiang Qin reviewed the script as Director Gu called.

“President Jiang, the micro-film will launch next month, and recruitment only starts in summer. The theme being youth, we hope you’ll wear a casual V-neck shirt, nothing too formal.”

    “Alright, Director Gu.”

Jiang Qin put away his phone and glanced at the little rich girl.

Tomorrow’s wardrobe meant reuniting with Chu Siqi, which would surely stir Feng Nanshu’s jealousy to the point of her giving him a ‘strawberry necklace…

Contemplating this, Jiang Qin decided to preemptively address the little rich girl’s mischief.

Feng Nanshu, sipping her lemon water, unknowingly received a reward, a hint of confusion in her eyes.

The next morning, the filming crew invited by Linchuan University arrived, followed by a host of handsome men and beautiful women from the campus beauty and beau rankings.

Thus, the entire academy road was packed with people.

Everyone chased the spectacle of the promotional filming and the usually unseen campus beauties and beaus.

Especially freshmen to juniors spending idle days in dorms found lining up for the show irresistible.

Cao Guangyu, Zhou Chao, and Ren Ziqiang just out from the dining hall saw a swarm of people and joined the crowd without knowing why.

They finally squeezed through to see several tall, splendidly dressed beauties and studs ready for shooting.

“Pfft, I should’ve been the top campus hunk.”

    Young master Cao looked disdainful.

Ren Ziqiang and Zhou Chao exchanged puzzled looks.

Cao had briefly topped the campus hunk contest at the start with his humor influencer clout.

As the contest heated up, he’d been overtaken, much to his frustration.

Having spent so long at university, failing at both pretense and romance, he was waiting to redeem himself with a superficial honor but ended up empty-handed.

Suddenly, the crowd began to stir as a group of girls crowded one area, exclaiming over someone’s attractiveness.

Cao looked up. “Damn, someone even more pretentious!”

Chao and Ren looked up to see Jiang Qin and Feng Nanshu heading towards the shoot, “Brother Jiang has a part in the promo too?”

“Of course! With President Jiang’s stature, even a second on screen is more significant than the main guy struggling for fifteen minutes.”

The trio turned their heads and spotted Zhang Guangfa shoving through with a sausage in his mouth.

Because they were Jiang’s roommates, Zhou Chao and Ren Ziqiang were a bit shy about sucking up, unlike Zhang Guangfa, who chased unabashedly.

Soon, Cao was amused: “Look, Old Jiang seems to be wearing the same shirt as that second campus hunk Yan Ziyi. He brags about being Yan Tsu in the dorm; now, let’s see who’s embarrassed.”

“Ugly? Not really. Even in the same shirt, Jiang president just looks more upscale…”

    “I feel the same…”

“Right, it seems like Jiang’s shirt looks much fancier than Yan’s. What’s the deal? Some superpower?”

    “Sort of…”

Cao Guangyu, to his Adidas hoodie: “Check out mine. Does this look real? How much is it worth?”

Zhang Guangfa glanced at it. “You’re asking if it looks real? Then it’s definitely fake. Probably under a hundred. Cao, acting rich requires attention to detail. You’re lacking in skills.”

    “?”

“I am a real rich guy, bro. Jiang even liked my mansion post on QQ Space. Don’t you remember?”

Zhang paused, “Old Cao, something about your vibe makes me think you rent your mansion.”

Cao looked incredulous. “Actually, I’m pretty fierce when I cuss.”

    “…”

The micro-movie shoot went smoothly, save for a few overacted scenes.

Especially Jiang Qin, who nailed his part effortlessly, as pretending had become second nature, achieving a subtle influence.

Once the micro-movie helped boost the university’s employment rate, Jiang would have repaid part of his debt to Linchuan University.

Meanwhile, at the roadside, a girl who might still owe some sentiments stood behind the crowd, looking at him, her cheeks puffed.

Director Gu arrived and approached Jiang, “President Jiang, do you have time later? We might need more solo promotional shots of you…”

“Even Yan Tsu shouldn’t be exploited like this, Director Gu, give me a break. I’ll be busy later.”

    “Group-buy delivery?”

“Yes, without me, Alibaba, Tencent, Baidu and others won’t be too pleased.”
