Chapter Index

He Yijun angrily toasted his cousin, Jiang Yanzu, who drunkenly insisted on going home.

On a warm summer night after a lively drinking session, Qin Zhihuan, still somewhat sober, called the manager of a nearby hotel to take care of He Yijun. He then caught a taxi to take Jiang Qin back to Xiangti Villa.

Half an hour later, the car arrived.

The two staggered into Building A206, barely coordinating their steps, reminiscent of spirits just learning to use their legs.

The little rich girl, sitting in the living room waiting for Jiang Qin’s return, immediately dashed out to take him from Qin Zhihuan’s hands.

“Why did you drink so much?”

Qin Jingqiu also hurried over, looking down at Jiang Qin’s drunken expression.

Scratching his head, Qin Zhihuan replied, “He Yijun kept toasting non-stop, one after another.”

“Didn’t you know to stop him? Drinking like this is harmful to the body.”

“I couldn’t stop him, aunty. He Yijun clearly wanted to compete to the death with Mr. Jiang. Even I, a mere onlooker, was swept up by it.”

Rubbing his temples, Qin Zhihuan continued, “Originally, He Yijun and I planned to just sleep over at the hotel after getting drunk. But Mr. Jiang insisted on returning, claiming he missed his cousin. There was no stopping him.”

By now, Jiang Qin had slipped into a semi-conscious state, and suddenly, catching a familiar scent, he couldn’t help but open his eyes.

Seeing it was the little rich girl, he instinctively tightened his embrace: “Home at last. Home at last.”

Hearing his murmurs, the little rich girl squinted her eyes, couldn’t resist rubbing against him twice.

To her, any place with Jiang Qin felt like home, but she hadn’t expected Jiang Qin to feel the same.

Meanwhile, Qin Jingqiu reached the second floor and called down Feng Shihua to help Qin Zhihuan to a guest room. She and the little rich girl supported Jiang Qin to another guest room and quickly asked Mrs. Wu to prepare a hangover remedy.

After some fuss, Jiang Qin lay on the bed, deep in sleep.

His tolerance for alcohol was pretty good. Despite drinking a lot, he didn’t throw a tantrum, only mumbling until he saw Feng Nanshu and then fell quiet.

Observing Jiang Qin’s condition, Qin Jingqiu noted his lack of distress, then turned to Feng Nanshu, “I’ll step out. Help him take off his clothes and cover him with the blanket.”

Taken aback, Feng Nanshu hesitated, then blushed,\” Well…then, I won’t be shy about it.”

    “?”

Puzzled, Qin Jingqiu thought, `You’re his pretty wife, what’s there to be shy about?`

Then she saw her niece already removing her shoes, climbing onto the bed, and beginning to unbutton Jiang Qin’s shirt, her expression detached yet seemingly excited.

Coughing, Qin Jingqiu quickly left, waiting outside.

Two minutes later, Feng Nanshu took off Jiang Qin’s shirt, her hands \”accidentally\” caressing his abs for five minutes before she solemnly unfastened his belt and slowly pulled down his pants, then couldn’t help but blush again.

That’s her brother’s spare phone, quite dangerous.

At that moment, a knock sounded at the door. Aunt outside mentioned that Mrs. Wu’s hangover soup was ready.

It took Feng Nanshu about fifteen minutes to undress Jiang Qin, partly because a drunk person doesn’t cooperate well and partly because she \”accidentally\” lingered on his abs.

Feeling it was about time, Aunt knocked on the door to remind her.

Feng Nanshu quickly covered Jiang Qin with the blanket and opened the room door.

Hangover soup helps speed up alcohol breakdown in the body. It doesn’t mean you sober up instantly but makes waking up less unpleasant.

Qin Jingqiu and Feng Nanshu helped Jiang Qin drink the soup, then handed the empty bowl to Mrs. Wu, finally breathing a sigh of relief.

“Let’s go, Nanshu. You should get some sleep.”

“I want to look after big brother a bit longer.”

After hearing this, Qin Jingqiu pinched her cheek: “Then I’ll head back to my room. You have a flight to catch in the morning. Don’t stay up too late.”

Feng Nanshu obediently nodded, appearing innocent, then watched her aunt leave before turning back to Jiang Qin with a look of a villain from a TV drama.

Wanting to take care of big brother ×

Interested in researching big brother’s spare phone √

The little rich girl tiptoed back to the bed in her black stockings.

She has two best friends. One, Huihui, is a false strategist who likes to offer advice on friendships though it’s mostly theoretical, focusing on psychology.

The other, Wang Haini, is a true strategist, bold in her teachings, very practical, focusing on physical tactics.

Wang Haini had once shared some useful tips in the school cafeteria, but big brother didn’t allow her to experiment, so it ended there.

But the world is like a massive boomerang. What goes out might not hit, but when it returns, it hits accurately.

Now, Feng Nanshu became like a curious kitten, her head swiveling back and forth.

Meanwhile, Qin Jingqiu in her bedroom reviewed recent reports on Qin’s company’s progress and approved several documents without realizing how much time had passed.

As she wondered why her niece hadn’t returned yet, she suddenly heard the guest room door open.

Feng Nanshu, looking flustered like a hamster with puffed cheeks, hurried down the corridor and into the opposite guest bathroom.

Qin Jingqiu stood, puzzled, then walked towards the hallway.

Her niece running so urgently, she wondered if Jiang Qin’s drunkenness had kicked in, making him feel sick and possibly vomit again.

She reached the doorway, looking across the hallway towards the guest bathroom.

“What’s wrong, Nanshu? Did Jiang Qin vomit?”

    “Seems like he did…”

    “?”

After a while, Feng Nanshu returned to her aunt’s bedroom, looking somewhat sneaky, then sat on the bed, dazed for a long time.

Qin Jingqiu removed her glasses, closed the documents: “He must be quite happy, otherwise, he wouldn’t drink so much. He didn’t even drink this much when he won the group buying battle.”

Feng Nanshu naively looked at Qin Jingqiu: “Why is big brother so happy?”

“Probably because he realized he truly can protect you, and ensure no one bullies you. For a guy, being able to protect the girl he likes feels very fulfilling.”

“Big brother loves me the most.”

Qin Jingqiu smiled contentedly, handing her a glass: “Have some water, then sleep.”

Feng Nanshu gently shook her head: “I already drank.”

“Don’t you always drink water before bed?”

    “I…I’ve already had some.”

The next morning, as the red sun rose in the east, a vibrant glow lit the sky.

Jiang Qin woke up in the guest room, stretched lazily in the yard, feeling rather light.

At that moment, Feng Shihua was in the middle of the yard, energetically painting against the splendid morning rays, his pose dashing.

Jiang Qin walked over, glanced at the painting which read, ‘Wife, I was wrong.’

Since Feng Shihua secretly sent Jiang Qin to meet his brother, Qin Jingqiu had been cold towards him, and he was still not out of the doghouse.

Jiang Qin quietly retreated, doing some basic arm swings, then went upstairs to see if anything was left unpacked, planning to head out after breakfast.

Just then, the master bedroom door opened, and Feng Nanshu walked out.

Dressed in a silk pajama, looking like a regal sister just woken up but also a bit goofy, stood in the hallway and yawned.

    “Good morning, big brother.”

“Good morning. Why can’t you look at me?”

“I can, but I choose not to.”

Feng Nanshu said softly in a cute manner, then scurried to the bathroom, slippers clacking.

Jiang Qin stood at the bathroom door, watched her quaintly brushing her teeth, then coughed and returned to his room, thinking of the surreal dream from the night before, feeling a bit guilty.

He wouldn’t let Feng Nanshu know about his dream; otherwise, she would think he was very dishonest.

Despite being completely innocent friends, he thought of feeding her food and drinks, feeling he had betrayed the little rich girl’s trust.

Especially with her naive look, pure and clueless eyes, Jiang Qin felt even more like a scoundrel.

After breakfast, as the sun climbed higher, the brilliant daylight was almost too dazzling to face.

Qin Zhihuan also got up, went to the dining room for breakfast: “Good morning, Mr. Jiang.”

“Good morning. Was it you who brought me home last night?”

“Yes. We had planned to stay at the hotel, but you insisted on returning, kept calling out for your little rich girl.”

Squinting, Jiang Qin asked, “Did I say anything else?”

Thinking, Qin Zhihuan responded, “That’s all.”

“That’s the power of friendship. Never underestimate our bond, you jerk.”

Jiang Qin, looking like a fool, still babbled, unaware that he had been tricked.

By now, Feng Nanshu had also changed and come down, sitting next to Jiang Qin and sipping corn soup, looking obedient, occasionally glancing at him.

Realizing her brother seemed oblivious, she slowly grew more audacious, impressed by her own cunning.

By noon, as the sunlight warmed and the temperature rose, Jiang Qin and Feng Nanshu said goodbye to their uncle and aunt and headed back to Linchuan.

Wei Lanlan was already waiting at the airport and drove them straight to Linchuan University, stopping at Xitian Milk Tea shop.

Gao Wenhui, having craved sweets these past few days, immediately decided to start gossiping when she saw them return.

“Wow, Jiang Qin, the young entrepreneur who claims he’s indifferent to money, is back with his beautiful wife!”

“Gao Wenhui, did you just get your month’s salary and start floating again?”

Stunned, Gao Wenhui retorted, “You already admitted on TV you have a wife, why the change of heart now!”

Jiang Qin squinted, “Mind your business!”

“You were gone for a week, no progress in your relationship?”

    “None!”

Feng Nanshu looked at Gao Wenhui and whispered, “Actually, there’s a tiny bit.”
