Chapter Index

Today, I climbed into bed and drew the curtains. My husband and I were about to get intimate again, so I brushed my teeth to keep them fresh and my breath sweet. I slipped into a lace top and headed to his bedroom, ready to

Heqing read the scene, her face flushing with embarrassment. She couldn’t bear to continue.

Quickly, she shut the book and bit her lip.

She tucked the wicked book under her pillow, closed her eyes, and muttered to herself:

“This kind of naughty book should be destroyed! Who even writes stuff like this? I’m going to sleep. I just dreamed about Lin Zheng Ran, and I want to keep dreaming about him. No more of this nonsense. Darn it, Wen Wen!”

After a while, Heqing drifted back to sleep, though she’d only read for five minutes.

For the first time, she had a dream about Lin Zheng Ran that was far from innocent.—

The weather was perfect that day as Han Wenwen dashed out of the dormitory building, slowing her pace only when she reached the school gate.

From afar, she spotted Lin Zheng Ran chatting with some girl at the gate. Little Fox’s expression turned subtle, then she strolled over casually.

The girl in front of Lin Zheng Ran was pretty enough, with a round face that made her adorable. She held an envelope, her cheeks flushed, while her group of friends cheered her on from a distance, whispering things like ‘You got this!’

The girl stammered shyly, “Senior, I’m from the neighboring high school. I’ve seen you around a few times, so I thought I’d ask if we could be friends.”

Lin Zheng Ran hadn’t even responded yet.

When Han Wenwen walked up, she smiled and asked:

“Excuse me, this young man already has a girlfriend.”

The girl panicked at the sight of Han Wenwen. “Really? Is that true?”

Han Wenwen eyed her with a sly look. “What do you think?”

The girl finally caught on. “Oh, I didn’t know! Sorry, sorry! I’ll leave you alone!”

She scurried away in embarrassment, and Lin Zheng Ran watched her go.

Han Wenwen watched the girl and her friends leave, saying lightly, “You’ve charmed all the girls at our school, and now you’re going after ones from other schools? When does it end?”

Lin Zheng Ran heard that familiar nickname they used when alone and glanced at Han Wenwen, who was clearly jealous but acting totally casual.

He teased, “Han Wenwen, when did you see me charming girls from other schools?”

Han Wenwen puffed out her cheeks and dropped the act. “I saw it with my own eyes, Brother Zheng Ran. Don’t play innocent!”

“But I was going to turn her down. Does that count as charming?”

Han Wenwen shot back, “It does!”

    “So, you’re just being unreasonable?”

Han Wenwen crossed her arms and looked away. “Hmph, maybe I am.”

He gave her a light flick on the head, making Little Fox yelp.

“Where do you want to go today?” he asked.

At that, her fox-like eyes twinkled. She pulled out her phone, opened the notes app, and handed it to Lin Zheng Ran.

    He saw five places listed.

“Not bad. We can take our time with just these.”

Han Wenwen blinked. “What do you mean, just these? It’s over ten pages, Brother Zheng Ran. Scroll down.”

Lin Zheng Ran scrolled and realized it was indeed over ten pages, with at least a hundred spots.

He looked amused. “This many? Forget whether we can hit them all—the city’s not that big, but how did you find all these?”

Han Wenwen explained, “I collected them bit by bit. It seems like couples always go to these places, so I wanted to check them out.”

Her invisible fox ears perked up. “Let’s get started? We don’t have all day!”

“If we can’t cover them all, don’t blame me.”

“I’d love to blame you, but is Brother Zheng Ran that easy to blame? You just hit me or tease me.”

“Hey, that makes me sound so rough.”

Lin Zheng Ran hailed a taxi, and they headed to their first stop: the arcade.

Though Little Fox usually seemed calm and composed, around Lin Zheng Ran, she let loose like a wild fox.

It was as if she’d entered her own forest.

Arm in arm with Lin Zheng Ran, she bounced from game to game at the arcade, dragging him to check this out and that.

She didn’t miss the drinks and snacks either—they just appeared in her hands before she knew it.

And she’d keep asking, “Brother Zheng Ran, want to try this? Or that? Or—”

“If you want it, just buy it. But can you even eat all that?”

“So, I’ll get a bit of each and taste them.”

When eating, Han Wenwen always offered Lin Zheng Ran a bite first, then took one herself, so it ended up being half and half.

After the arcade, she pulled him to the city’s amusement park. Though the rides weren’t huge,

the little rollercoaster and drop tower had Little Fox grinning from ear to ear.

    She was thoroughly enjoying herself.

As they left, she spotted a massive ice cream at the entrance.

Suddenly, Little Fox froze in her tracks.

She grabbed Lin Zheng Ran’s arm, eyes sparkling. “Look! Brother Zheng Ran, look at that huge ice cream! I have to try it!”

The ice cream was about as big as a forearm.

It cost more than the usual ones, not a lot of money, but Lin Zheng Ran knew they’d never finish it.

“Are you sure you can eat all that?”

Han Wenwen hesitated, then bit her lip and smiled up at him. “I just want one bite…”

Lin Zheng Ran flicked her forehead without a second thought.

Han Wenwen pouted and leaned her head on his arm, clinging tightly.

    She was asking for it.

Then, the vendor announced mini ice creams, and Little Fox got excited. “Small ones! The small ones are okay, right?”

This time, Lin Zheng Ran gave in and bought one.

Han Wenwen happily licked away at the ice cream.

She checked her notes for the next spot… and then

    she got a stomachache.

At one p.m., Lin Zheng Ran waited outside the girls’ bathroom—this was Han Wenwen’s third trip in half an hour.

When she emerged, she looked wilted, like her nine tails had lost their spark.

She wobbled over and leaned on his arm. “Brother Zheng Ran, that ice cream must be cursed…”

Lin Zheng Ran held back a laugh. “It might not be the ice cream. You ate too much junk and skipped breakfast on purpose. No wonder you’re feeling it.”

Han Wenwen gave him her fox-like glance, looking pitiful. “But you ate some too.”

Lin Zheng Ran just smiled faintly.

Han Wenwen faced reality. “Okay, I thought I was tough, but I’m not.”

“You are tough—stronger than most people. Feeling better now? Want to keep going or rest somewhere?”

    “I want to go home…”

Lin Zheng Ran couldn’t help chuckling. “Just one morning and you’re done? You were talking about a hundred places earlier.”

Han Wenwen whined in a tired voice, sounding extra cute. “My stomach hurts, I can’t keep going. I just want to lie in your arms at home.”

“Alright, and we’ll grab some medicine on the way.”

    “Okay.”

As they headed home, they spotted a stall selling plush toys on the roadside.

There was a huge dog plush, about half a body size.

Something about that dog caught their eye.

After staring for a moment, Han Wenwen burst out laughing. “I don’t know why, but this dog reminds me of you, Brother Zheng Ran.”

Lin Zheng Ran looked at her, and Han Wenwen quickly covered her mouth, shaking her head. “I didn’t say anything. You heard nothing, Brother Zheng Ran~”

She tugged his arm gently—it was clear she wanted it.

Though it seemed silly, Lin Zheng Ran thought it really did resemble him, especially the eyes and vibe.

So, he bought the dog plush that looked just like him without hesitation.

On the ride home, Han Wenwen stared at the dog and laughed so hard her stomach hurt again.

“Brother Zheng Ran, this is too funny. Now, with this dog, I won’t be scared at night anymore!”
