Chapter Index

Lin Zheng Ran saw the little fox muttering and reached out his hand.

Han Wenwen eyed Lin Zheng Ran, skipped the handshake, and half-stood to wrap her arms around his neck.

She pulled him into a tight hug.

Whispering seductively in his ear, she said, “At least Brother Zheng Ran has some heart, knowing how to sweet-talk me. But what were you two up to last night?!”

Her voice carried a hint of accusation, her warm breath brushing his earlobe as she added, “Why were you at the hotel?”

Lin Zheng Ran held the little fox without speaking right away.

Instead, he gently stroked her head with one hand.

Han Wenwen’s fox eyes fixed on Lin Zheng Ran, and after a moment, she rested her head on his shoulder and closed her eyes.

His touch left her completely relaxed as she murmured, “Was there some accident?”

Only then did Lin Zheng Ran explain, “No accident. Last night, I took her to get her hair done and bought her some underwear. But the dorm was locked, so we stayed out. We didn’t do anything special.”

That sentence packed a lot for the little fox.

She opened her eyes wide, mouth agape, pulled back a bit to face him, and frowned. “I get the haircut, but buying underwear? What does that mean?!”

“It’s a bit weird, really. Last night at the hair salon, things got messy, and her underwear ended up the same way. So, I just went and bought her some.”

Lin Zheng Ran quickly recapped the previous night’s events, then met Han Wenwen’s clearly jealous gaze, which showed no other emotions as she stared at him.

Han Wenwen took a couple of breaths before continuing:

“Buying underwear just for Lily? Brother Zheng Ran, do you know how big that is for a girl? You’ve never bought any for me—not even sanitary pads!”

Lin Zheng Ran asked, “Isn’t that just because it was a special situation? Besides, when we’re together, you’ve never run out of what you need.”

“I haven’t, but it’s not the same! For a girl, something so personal—having a guy buy it alone is touching and really important!”

Lin Zheng Ran shushed her, signaling her voice was getting too loud.

That only made Han Wenwen’s jealousy flare, her fox fur practically standing on end.

In a fit, she butted her head against Lin Zheng Ran’s face—though to an onlooker, it looked like a little fox nuzzling its owner.

It was just a bit more forceful than usual.

Lin Zheng Ran chuckled. “What are you doing?”

“Bumping you, Brother Zheng Ran! I won’t scratch, but I can bump, right?!”

With her face buried in his shoulder, she whispered softly, “I don’t care. You have to buy some for me too. You promised to spoil me most—don’t back out.”

    “Right now?”

    “Not right now, of course.”

Whenever Lin Zheng Ran was kind to another girl, Han Wenwen agreed with his flirty ways but always felt like a piece of her heart was missing.

As if someone was trying to steal her favorite treasure.

She clung tighter to her Brother Zheng Ran.

    And went on:

“If I made you go buy it now, that’d be petty and troublesome. I’m not that kind of fox—won’t make things hard for you. Next time, though,

when you’re alone with me and we pass a lingerie shop, I’ll wait outside while you go in and buy clothes and sanitary pads for me. Everything! I’ll pay.”

She lightly poked his cheek with her finger, acting playful again. “And as an extra reward, I’ll go buy you underwear, a razor, and all sorts of personal stuff. How about it?”

As she poked, she teased, “Come on, say yes~ Hurry and agree with me, Wenwen~”

Lin Zheng Ran sighed; Han Wenwen had a real talent for being cute.

He nodded slowly. “Alright, next time we pass a lingerie shop, I’ll get you some.”

Han Wenwen’s lips curved into a smug smile, and she bit her lip, beaming with joy.

She pulled back her finger and asked with less jealousy now, “So, you two ended up at the hotel because you got back to the girls’ dorm too late?”

    “Yeah.”

Han Wenwen blinked her fox eyes and pressed on reasonably, “Then why get a big bed room? Why not a double? You could still sleep in two beds.”

    “You’re right. I just forgot.”

    Han Wenwen clicked her tongue:

“Brother Zheng Ran, be straight with me! I don’t buy that you forgot! Xiao Qingqing and Lily might think you’re clueless about this stuff, but I know better—your head’s full of all kinds of ideas.”

    “Oh, you know?”

Han Wenwen tilted her head, full of confidence:

“Yeah, like last time at the rental house when you had your arm around my waist, I could tell. I read people’s thoughts through their eyes, even if I can’t fully see yours—I catch glimpses.”

She placed her hand on Lin Zheng Ran’s lips:

“I see you hold back because you care about us, not wanting to rush things. But that doesn’t mean you’re innocent—it’s like a wolf raising sheep,

fatten them up and then devour them whole. I get it, and when the time comes, you’ll take everything from us three.”

Lin Zheng Ran groaned, “You make me sound like some villain. But about the double room, I really just said it offhand last night and didn’t think twice.”

Han Wenwen quipped, “What, a natural playboy?”

    Lin Zheng Ran teased, “What?”

Han Wenwen turned away with a huff. “I said Brother Zheng Ran’s a natural charmer, warm to a fault.”

Lin Zheng Ran smiled and extended his hand. “Now, can I have Lily’s clothes? We’ve been going in circles forever.”

Han Wenwen looked at the clothes in her hand and shoved them into Lin Zheng Ran’s grasp.

“Here you go. But why aren’t you wearing a shirt?”

Lin Zheng Ran blinked. “Because hers got wet last night, so I gave her mine. Didn’t you notice?”

    “What did you say?!”

“Zheng Ran?” Suddenly, Lily stirred awake on the bed, panicking a little when she saw he wasn’t there—it was an unfamiliar place after all.

“Zheng Ran? Where are you? Zheng Ran?!” She sat up.

In the bathroom, Lin Zheng Ran covered Han Wenwen’s mouth.

He called out loudly, “Lily, you’re up? I’m in the bathroom.”

On the bed, Lily relaxed at the sound. “Oh, what time is it?”

“Almost seven. No rush—you can sleep more.”

Lily was still groggy from staying up late. “That’s early, but how much longer will you be? I need the bathroom too.”

In the bathroom, Han Wenwen’s eyes widened.

    As if asking, what now?

Lin Zheng Ran shot back a look that said, told you to keep it down.

Han Wenwen frowned slightly, thinking, it was just instinct—after all, you gave your clothes to Lily, so you two are more than close.

Lin Zheng Ran, seeing the little fox’s panic, said loudly on purpose, “Yeah, I’m almost done. Come on over, Lily.”

That startled Han Wenwen completely—what about her?!
