Chapter Index

Little Fox stretched lazily, not quite grasping what Heqing meant at first.

“What do you mean my skin looks better?”

Lily overheard and sat up, looking at Han Wenwen. Her already fair skin now had a subtle, crystal-clear glow. Most people woke up disheveled and tired, even the prettiest girls lacking any real energy.

    They always felt groggy.

But Han Wenwen’s eyes sparkled with a charming allure, her skin smooth and flawless under the sunlight’s touch.

A few strands of her long hair clung to her face from sleep, yet she radiated a healthy, rosy glow.

It hit like a visual punch, like she’d stepped out of a fairy tale.

    She practically shone.

“It’s true! Han Wenwen, you’re stunning this morning!”

Heqing felt confirmed in her observation: “Right, Lily? Wen Wen looks totally different from last night!”

    Lily nodded vigorously.

Lin Zheng Ran noticed the change in Han Wenwen too, and after a moment, he figured it was the effect of his Energy attribute.

He recalled that when Energy improved, any girl he was contracted with would gain enhancements to lifespan, appearance, and physique based on his attributes during intimacy.

Lin Zheng Ran hadn’t had time to use this ability before, but he never expected that last night’s events would trigger it.

Thinking about it, right before bed, the System had mentioned something about top-grade spiritual fluid.

Sitting on the bed, Han Wenwen saw everyone staring at her in envy and touched her face: “Is this reaction for real? I’m heading to the restroom to check in the mirror!”

Han Wenwen slipped on her slippers and went to the restroom.

As soon as she saw herself in the mirror, Han Wenwen froze in shock.

Her beautiful fox-like eyes widened at her fair, vibrant skin, and she covered her face in disbelief: “It really is! How is this possible?”

She leaned closer, checking from every angle, even noticing her lips had a tempting red tint.

Lily and Heqing followed her into the restroom and asked.

Heqing asked enviously: “Wen Wen, what did you do last night? Or what have you been up to lately? How did you change so much overnight?”

Lily wondered: “Yeah, how did you do it? Can you tell us?”

Han Wenwen was thrilled but confused: “It’s not that I don’t want to share, I just don’t know what’s going on. My days have been pretty much the same as before, except…”

    Heqing pressed: “Except what?”

Little Fox touched her lips, remembering yesterday afternoon when she helped Brother Zheng Ran relieve some stress in the hotel.

    Could that be the reason?

Han Wenwen had read plenty of novels where being intimate with someone you like improves a girl’s complexion and energy.

She thought it was all made up, but now it seemed real?

Staring back at the mirror, she thought, if that’s the case, this beats any fancy face masks or skincare products hands down!

No, not just beats—it far outshines them.

From now on, if she wanted to stay gorgeous, she could just chase after Brother Zheng Ran for more of that. Though it was just a guess, Han Wenwen felt it was probably spot on.

Lily asked: “Wen Wen? Did you remember something?”

Han Wenwen snapped back, laughing awkwardly and shyly as she waved it off:

“No, no, I was just thinking about what I’ve done these past couple of days. Honestly, my routine hasn’t changed much. I have no idea why this happened—maybe it’s because I’ve been going to bed early?”

Heqing blinked innocently: “Going to bed early does this? I haven’t been sleeping early lately, but does that make such a big difference?”

Han Wenwen brushed it off: “It’s just a guess. Who knows what caused it, heh.”

Lin Zheng Ran checked his phone from the bed and saw a message from Jiang Jingshi asking when he’d come over.

He had promised to visit the company today.

He replied quickly, then sat up to put on his socks and jacket, eager to get there and back: “You three, I’ve got things to handle today. Just relax and rest up for next week’s trip.”

The three girls came out of the restroom and watched him.

Han Wenwen asked: “Lin Zheng Ran, you’re leaving already?”

Heqing said: “Lin Zheng Ran, do you have something on today?”

“Yeah, it’s my own stuff—you three don’t worry about it.” He kept it short, washed his face, and headed to the door.

The three girls rushed to the room entrance to see him off.

Lin Zheng Ran slipped on his shoes and turned back: “You three don’t need to come out. I’m off.”

Lily thought to herself that he was probably going to the company, as he’d mentioned yesterday: “So, Zheng Ran, will you be back tonight?”

“I should stop by later. I’ll call you once I’m done. But I figure you three will stay here tonight, so the bed’s too crowded for four anyway. See you!”

    He waved as a farewell.

Heqing, Lily, and Han Wenwen watched Lin Zheng Ran leave together.

Heqing whispered: “With Lily and me here, where’s he off to? Does he have family stuff?”

    Han Wenwen shook her head.

Lily blurted out: “Probably to the company.”

Heqing and Han Wenwen turned to Lily, both confused and saying at once: “Company? What company?”

Lily chuckled: “You two really don’t know? Zheng Ran is the general manager of a company, and it’s not a small one. He’s just been too busy to go lately, so he’s probably heading there for a meeting or something.”

Heqing and Han Wenwen stared in stunned silence at first.

Then they exclaimed in disbelief: “He’s a company’s general manager?! Since when?!”

Lily wiped her brow: “I thought you both knew. The company’s been around for over two years—it’s that popular entertainment outfit in the city, Zheng Shi Company.”

The two of them still felt like they were in a dream.

    Lily simplified it:

“The company I signed with is Zheng Shi Music, which is under Zheng Ran’s umbrella—I’m basically his employee. And Heqing, didn’t Zheng Ran get you into Zheng Shi Sports? You even competed in the city tournament.”

Heqing never saw that coming: “So you’re saying the Zheng Shi Sports I joined is owned by Lin Zheng Ran? But he’s only eighteen! And how could he afford to start a company? Does that even make sense?”

    Lily sighed:

“Eighteen isn’t bad—when I found out, he was only sixteen. As for the money, I’m not sure; he said it was a joint venture with someone. But yeah, he’s definitely the general manager. And as for sense, do you really think Zheng Ran is your average guy?”

    She blinked playfully:

“Zheng Ran’s always been top of the class, wins awards without even trying, handsome with a great build and charm. Plus, he’s got multiple girls devoted to him without any drama.”

She swallowed: “Add running a company to that list. It sounds wild for anyone else, but for Zheng Ran, it just fits. Don’t you think?”

    A brief silence followed.

Heqing nodded: “You’re right. Lin Zheng Ran has no flaws in the big things, except he’s a bit stern and a flirt sometimes.”

Lily added: “And cheeky—lately, he’s getting even more so.”
