Chapter Index

University students looking at houses? They’re really quite young for it.

Still, maybe because they’re so young, the sales office staff are extra enthusiastic.

Of course, it also ties back to Lin Zheng Ran’s charm.

“Handsome guy? Here to check out houses?”

Lin Zheng Ran nodded. “I want to see the second-floor villas.”

The staff eyed Lin Zheng Ran’s vibe and lit up. “Sure, we’ll take you there, handsome!”

Though they couldn’t tell if this young man had money, his presence screamed anything but ordinary.

The more they looked, the more he seemed like a rich kid.

The three little ones stuck close to Lin Zheng Ran.

They toured several villas one by one, their eyes sparkling at the lavish setups.

The sales staff were all smiles and energy; when they got tired from browsing, Lin Zheng Ran took the three little ones out for lunch, then continued in the afternoon.

Over lunch, Lily covered her mouth and whispered to Han Wenwen, “If we three hadn’t tagged along today, would Zheng Ran have ended up giving out his WeChat again? Those sales ladies seem so into him.”

Han Wenwen kept walking slowly. “A hundred percent.”

“Lin Zheng Ran always gets popular in a group of girls, but I don’t know why—when we came to this sales office this morning, it reminded me of scenes from those short videos. Reality’s nothing like novels, though.”

Han Wenwen caught on and coughed lightly, whispering,

“Hmph, you should take a good look at yourself. Do you even know what a villa is, you broke fool? Coming here to look at villas—hilarious. These are for the rich only.” She straightened up proudly.

Heqing burst out laughing and played along,

“Then later, some pretty sales rep will approach Lin Zheng Ran, all nice and friendly, and he’ll pull out his bank card to mock the earlier one.” Heqing mimicked in a cute voice, holding out her hand like she had a card:

“Wrap up all the unsold villas for me! Put the sales on that person’s tab!”

Han Wenwen groaned in mock regret: “Ah? Don’t do that! I was here first, handsome. Let me show you around instead. Please? If you buy through me, I’ll do anything for you—even that sort of thing.” She hid her face.

Lily grimaced awkwardly. “What kind of weird stuff do you two watch anyway? I can’t believe you’re into those videos.”

Heqing said shyly, “There’s tons of them, right? We just scroll and watch sometimes—it’s pretty fun.”

Lin Zheng Ran walked ahead and suddenly flicked a knuckle on Heqing’s and Han Wenwen’s heads.

    They both yelped, “Ouch!”

After a thought, he gave one to Lily too.

Lily clutched her head, confused. “Zheng Ran, why hit me? I didn’t join in!”

Lin Zheng Ran said, “Do you really think I’m deaf?”

Lily turned away with a huff. “You just love picking on people!”

“Though I see you three have gotten way closer since the trip—always chattering behind me like a trio in a play, one line each.”

Heqing, Han Wenwen, and Lily glanced at each other and stayed quiet.

True, after their trip, the three of them had bonded more without realizing it.

After all, they’d shared a bed and slept in his arms.

Of course, it was all innocent.

Lin Zheng Ran asked, “About the houses we saw this morning, you all were buzzing with excitement—which ones did you really like?”

    The three thought it over.

Heqing rubbed her head, which didn’t hurt much. “They all seemed great, but something felt missing.”

Han Wenwen nodded. “Same here. Brother Zheng Ran’s picks had plenty of rooms upstairs, and the living rooms were nice, but still, something was off.”

Lily said, “I think I get it—too spread out?”

Lin Zheng Ran frowned. “Spread out?”

“Yeah, like the houses the sales rep showed us had everyone in separate spaces. Sure, we should each have our own room if we’re living together, but most of the time, we’d probably sleep as a group, right?”

    Heqing and Han Wenwen froze.

The former blushed, and Han Wenwen sighed, “Lily, you can say some cheeky things sometimes.”

Lily stretched her arms, face turning red:

“What? I mean normal sleeping! We’re like family now, right? And once we marry Zheng Ran, we’ll be a couple, so we’d sleep cuddled up.

Even if some things need privacy, most nights should be together, not each in our own room—that’d just be like roommates!”

Han Wenwen caught on and slapped her hand. “Exactly, it’s all backward! Lily’s spot on. No wonder it felt wrong—the house is too big, and Brother Zheng Ran’s room is too small.”

Lin Zheng Ran hadn’t expected this angle. “Didn’t I mention this before? I picked first-floor living rooms with big spaces for everyone to relax together.”

    They all shook their heads.

Heqing said, “It’s not the same. That room isn’t a real bedroom. We want one we can share with you, not some temporary living area. We’re all in this together, so we need to see you every night.”

Lin Zheng Ran got it. He’d thought that with future girlfriends,

maybe one or two nights a week, or afternoons, everyone could sleep together.

After all, evenings had other things to handle.

But the girls clearly wanted every night together, even after those activities.

They’d head back to the big room afterward.

So, basically, every night as one group.

That made individual rooms less important—it felt more like family.

Lin Zheng Ran nodded. “I see what you mean. That’s fine too. So, this afternoon, we’ll focus on houses with a massive bedroom for at least seven, and simple singles for everyone else. Sound good?”

The three suddenly felt jealous, thinking: “Lin Zheng Ran (Zheng Ran) (Brother Zheng Ran) is planning for six girlfriends when buying a house.”

Lin Zheng Ran asked, “You three okay? Any other issues?”

They shook their heads, all brimming with envy. “Nothing.”

Han Wenwen tapped her lip. “Don’t forget rooms for kids. If each has one, that’s six more!”

Lin Zheng Ran said, “Yeah, I’ve thought about that, but we’ll probably get separate places for them. This layout’s tough to find—might have to custom-build if needed.”

After lunch, Lin Zheng Ran checked out more houses and surprisingly found the perfect layout.

It wasn’t two stories—it was a massive three-story villa, costing over four times a two-story one, and brand new.

But money wasn’t an issue, though it was a hefty sum even for him.

Lin Zheng Ran decided on the spot, signed the purchase contract.

From today, the four officially moved into their new home.
