Chapter Index

Compared to that cut-down version, this authentic Heavenly Chains are obviously countless times stronger.

    Heavenly Chains Lv0

    Quality: Red

    Attribute: Range of effect tripled

    Attribute 2: Bloodstained Divine Chain

    Attribute 3: Void Heavenly Chains

Effect: Consuming 10,000 Ghost Energy Points, it activates a special alloy chain on a designated target, greatly restricting enemy units’ movements. The maximum extension of the current chain is 30 meters (10×3).

    No energy required

    Cooldown: 24 hours

Upgrade cost: 20 strands of Floating-Land Origin (Zero Grade), 2000 Ghost Energy Points

    {Bloodstained Divine Chain: The alloy chain triggered by this component has been stained with unknown divine blood, boosting its toughness by 200%.}

    {Void Heavenly Chains: Consuming 50,000 Ghost Energy Points, it imbues the chain with divine binding power, capable of traversing space to bind a specified target within view, with binding duration depending on distance and enemy rank. Cooldown 72 hours.}

Compared to the cut-down pseudo Heavenly Chains, this component’s attributes are much stronger. Not only does it significantly enhance the alloy chain’s durability, but it can also bind enemies remotely.

As for the ‘Void Heavenly Chains’ attribute, it’s limited by view range. But don’t forget, Song Chi now possesses dual pupils, meaning his view range is several times or even dozens of times that of the same rank Torch Captains. So, the use of this ability in his hands is exponentially compressed.

It can be seen as the second remote fixed-point control ability above the Sky-Star Floating Continent, apart from the ‘Sealing Seal: External Time Stop’. Although it’s less about time manipulation and doesn’t compare to the gold-grade ‘Sealing Seal: External Time Stop’, its short cooldown makes it valuable.

Initial cooldown only three days—one-tenth of the ‘External Time Stop’. Coupled with subsequent enhancements, the cooldown could shrink to just over ten hours, making it a constantly available ability.

No traces left. First, the spatial anchor inside the Heavenly Ruin was canceled and relocated to a secret mountain cave outside. Then, using the anchor remaining on Dragon Spine Continent, he returned to Dinghai Sector.

His ability to return to Dragon Spine Continent at will is no secret to high-level family members, so he had no extra worries.

When he borrowed the ‘Tri-Eye Spirit-Lock Ring’ from the family to safely uninstall the pseudo Heavenly Chains, he also returned it via the market to Wang Zhen.

Currently, the Heavenly Ruin didn’t have other restraint components loaded, but both components could’ve been installed together. Still, he promised Wang Zhen to return this authentic Heavenly Chains after obtaining it, so he didn’t regret it.

After returning to the Chaos Sector and relinking the spatial anchor inside the Heavenly Ruin, Song Chi upgraded the authentic Chains to Lv60.

    Sixth-tier Heavenly Chains component:

‘Bloodstained Divine Chain’ attribute’s alloy toughness boost skyrocketed from 200% to 500%, greatly reducing the risk of enemies breaking free in the future.

‘Void Heavenly Chains’ cooldown shrank from 72 hours to 12 hours, usable every half day.

However, this cooldown is still somewhat long. If there were a universal cooldown reduction component for battleships, it would be much better. Sadly, such high-quality cooldown reduction parts are rare—particularly on the Heavenly Ruin, which needs top-tier components.

Shaking his head lightly, Song Chi didn’t dwell on it.

He refocused on the radar scan, and soon, the Heavenly Ruin set sail again.

Its destination was the last of the three red points, after visiting two locations already—there’s no reason to skip the last one.

The third red point is deep inside the westernmost primeval jungle of the Chaos Floating-land. This forest area is enormous, slightly smaller than the ten-trillion-kilometer-long Stone Mountain Range on Sky-Star Continent.

Many Floating-land tribes thrive in these woods, including some Fourth-tier ferocious beasts. Fifth-tier ones are absent; Fourth-tier is the upper limit tolerated by the Horned Tribe and others. When a Fifth-tier beast appears, it’s immediately exterminated.

Thanks to the powerful stealth of the ‘Mirror Shadow’ ability, Heavenly Ruin had no accidents and reached the forest’s depths smoothly.

‘Why did the red point disappear?’

Staring at the suddenly vanished red dot on the radar, Song Chi’s pupils constricted slightly.

The Spirit-Seeing Eye’s detection is never wrong. Finds of those two strange red objects confirmed this. So, the only explanation is that the third red object itself is the issue.

Thinking of this, Song Chi’s mind raced. Using the analysis from the Qiongtian AI, he drew two conclusions.

Either the third red object, like the first one, is held by some unknown creatures, which used a special concealment or interference ability just a second ago.

Or, the object has a self-appearing and concealing ability—sometimes exposed, sometimes hidden within itself.

Which is true remains uncertain until further search or detection results are obtained.

For now, Song Chi doesn’t know if the object will reappear. His best move is to search the approximate area shown on the radar.

    Swish! Swish! Swish!

All Shadow Assassins and Fallen Angel Puppets were dispatched, and with the ‘Mirror Shadow’ ability, the Heavenly Ruin continuously scanned kilometers-wide underground regions with ultrasonic geomagnetic sensors.

    This routine lasted four days.

On the fifth day, just as Song Chi decided to conduct a final day’s scan—if no results, he would leave—the Shadow Assassin puppet suddenly received a message from the brainwave-embedded Assassin.

Like before in the Immortal Domain Fragment, highly sensitive Shadow Assassins sensed a special array of the space-sensitive kind.

The array, or space curtain, detected the existence of this civilization artifact among the forest. Alarmed, Song Chi instantly became wary in the command cabin.

While the space curtain is a basic type of spatial device, its natural formation is extremely rare. Only civilizations like Sea of Stars technology can develop such means, usually for concealment and isolation.

Linking this to the mysterious disappearance of the red objects earlier, it’s likely the space curtain is a tech artifact of some civilization—still active, possibly a surviving one.

Is this one of the three civilizations in the Chaos Floating-land? Or some other civilization?

Driven by curiosity, Song Chi withdrew all puppet soldiers to avoid detection.

After careful thought, he decided to probe the civilization behind this space curtain.

    First, it’s just a space curtain—a relatively low-level technology.

Furthermore, hiding one’s traces under the three intermediate civilizations suggests the civilization behind this space curtain isn’t too strong.

With these considerations, if danger arises, the Heavenly Ruin still has the ability to retreat fully. That’s why Song Chi made this choice.

Of course, possibilities remain uncertain; nothing is absolute. He stays cautious nonetheless.

The Heavenly Ruin first moved over a million kilometers away, then began controlling puppet Shadow Assassins and Lv6 Fallen Angels toward the space curtain using brainwave imprinting.

Nothing unusual happened during their flight; yet, when the puppet bodies entered the curtain’s interior, Song Chi’s expression filled with astonishment as the scene behind the space curtain appeared in his mind.

This… is it the Moro Race?

The space curtain lies flat on the ground, with a vast underground space connected via a passage. In his second mental image, a towering black mech over ten thousand meters tall appeared.

It’s the Moro Stealth Mech he’d met before, but back then, it was a Fourth-tier Moro. This one is Fifth-tier.

Surprised, Song Chi quickly thought of a response plan.

Strictly speaking, this isn’t too surprising.

He knew decades ago about another surviving Moro royal lineage lurking in this Chaos Sector, just lacking detailed info.

As one of the most famous floating lands in the Chaos Starfield, the Chaos Floating-land was naturally a target where the Moro royal family might have hidden. This has been speculated within the Song Family.

Because of that, Song Chi reacted quickly. The cloaked Heavenly Ruin engine roared to life, rushing toward the underground entrance where the Fifth-tier Moro Stealth Mech was located.

The Moro Race, hundreds of thousands of years ago, was indeed powerful, with Sixth-tier mechs stationed within their ranks.

But during the First Morningstar Duchy Great Expedition, over 90% of their surviving force was annihilated. No Sixth-tier Moro Mech remained; even the Five-tier Moro Stealth Mech underground was likely built recently at great cost by this remaining Moro royal family.

This means, no Sixth-tier combat units exist in the underground space.

In that case, there’s no need to worry.

As long as they don’t encounter Sixth-tier beings, Fifth-tier units pose no real threat to the Heavenly Ruin.

Just as the battleship neared, a second scene in Song Chi’s mind suddenly quivered violently— the Fifth-tier Moro Stealth Mech actively attacked several puppet soldiers.

Instinctively, Song Chi wanted to command the puppets to retreat from underground, but he quickly denied that idea.

Under his command to not leave the underground space, they could only dodge. The extremely fast Fifth-tier Moro Mech quickly eliminated each puppet without trouble.

Given the Shadow Assassin’s mastery over spatial forces and the speed of the Sixth-tier Twelve-Wing Fallen Angel Puppets, there was a real chance to rush out. But Song Chi was considering the intentions of the Moro royal within that mech.

If the puppets escape, they probably wouldn’t dare pursue to avoid drawing attention from the other three races of the Chaos Floating-land. That would give the Moro race suspicion that they’ve been exposed. If they choose to run, it could be disastrous.

The Moro Stealth Mech can traverse the void Dark Side on its own. Once it slips into the void, even the Heavenly Ruin might struggle to track it.

So, killing all puppets in the underground space temporarily is the best move to hold them back.

Now, Song Chi only needs to act before they react—then everything is straightforward.

His reaction was quick. Less than two seconds after the puppets were dealt with, the battleship already rushed above the space curtain’s opening.

Without hesitation, the Heavenly Ruin surged into the space curtain.

It seemed the Fifth-tier Moro Mech had anticipated, as as soon as the ship entered a segment of the curtain, the two black shoulder-mounted cannons on the mech activateed.

The two armor-piercing shells struck the ship’s bow in a fierce explosion that rattled the entire underground space.

Although these shells were very powerful against the Fifth-tier Moro Mech, the damage to the Heavenly Ruin was minimal.

Before the main cannon could fully charge, the cautious Fifth-tier Moro royal immediately activated its teleportation ability, sensing danger, aiming to vanish into the void.

However, a suddenly emerged alloy chain from the void ensnared and trapped the mech. The sudden change prevented it from teleporting instantly.

Above, the ‘Sealing Seal: Internal Time Acceleration’ trait was activated. The terrifying illusionary arrow of the ‘Life-Bane Arrow’ was also fully charged in an instant. A fiery illusionary arrow shot fiercely from the bow at the ship’s bow.

With a gentle hum, the illusionary arrow plunged straight into the Moro Mech’s interior.

No explosion, no sparks. The energy didn’t scatter wildly.

Compared to the main weapon traits like ‘True Immortal Quantum Blade’ and ‘Soul-Annihilating Iris Beam’, the ‘Life-Bane Arrow’ felt more like a cold gust—cold enough to make one shiver, not blood-spattering or flesh-ripping.

That doesn’t mean its power isn’t formidable—on the contrary, it’s far more oppressive than most attack traits.

This can be seen in how the Fifth-tier Moro Mech stiffened the moment the arrow sank in.

Within an instant, it froze in place.

Is this mech under some kind of control?

    No.

The truth is, the Fifth-tier Moro royal inside was killed by the ‘Life-Bane Arrow’. All vitality inside was instantly eradicated.

The ‘Life-Bane Arrow’ targets living flesh, not the outer layer of dead metal.
