Chapter Index

Every faction involved in this feast of carnage was filled with the highest expectations for one last wild celebration.

But the waiting in between was pure agony.

Carving up this eight hundred thousand light-year star domain couldn’t start until the Star-Annihilator-class Captains were free—and the key to that lay in the mysterious oddity known as the Civilization Wall.

Only when the Civilization Wall stretched over and completely enveloped the Tianpan Galaxy in its defensive embrace would the galaxy be safe from the looming crisis overhead. Then, everyone could finally divide and digest the spoils gained over decades of war, free of worry.

But getting the Civilization Wall to fully extend? That was no quick task.

And just like that, another three years slipped by.

On this particular day a faint spatial ripple ran through the Heavenly Ruin at the heart of the Song Family fleet cluster. As the disturbance faded, only a Voidform Avatar remained—Song Chi’s deliberate stand-in. The real Song Chi had already entered the Omniverse Market, ready for another round of trading.

    ……

Inside the Omniverse Market, Song Chi smiled to himself as he observed the incoming Tier 4 witcher beeline straight for the oddities exchange—he watched from a god’s-eye view, attention fixed on every move.

Over the past few years, this witcher named Levann had entered the Market multiple times but never showed any interest in the Imperial Barbarian Blood Puppet. It wasn’t until the last trade session that Levann finally asked about the details for exchanging one.

Song Chi had suspected that Levann was preparing to act, which is why today he waited by the Ultra-Range Spatial Gate Random Drop Platform for the buffer to finish, then jumped right into the next trade round.

As expected, Levann made no attempt to hide his intentions. He headed straight for the oddities exchange shop as soon as he left the inn.

Once inside, Levann quickly activated the storage ring on his right index finger. Instantly, a dazzling golden light swept through the entire shop.

From that storage ring, Levann produced a true treasure—a golden sanctum oddity.

“Great Master of the Omniverse Market, I wonder if this oddity is to your liking?”

Song Chi focused, the power of a peak Tier 7 Dominion circulating around him.

The attributes of the golden sanctum oddity in Levann’s hand soon appeared before Song Chi’s eyes.

But as he saw it, he let out a resigned sigh and replied via thought,

“This item is of no use to me!”

Levann had brought forth an oddity called the Radiant Moon Wheel, but it couldn’t be converted into a component for a battleship of the same class. Song Chi wasn’t interested in the exchange.

    Oddity: Radiant Moon Wheel

    Quality: Gold

    Convertible: None

Note: Formed from the remnants of a star in the Multiverse Age, containing immense power.

It was hard enough getting someone to offer up a golden sanctum oddity, only to find it couldn’t be made into a ship component. Song Chi’s disappointment was understandable.

But then, out the corner of his eye, he noticed Levann pour magic into his storage ring again. This time, another gold-tinted sanctum oddity appeared in Levann’s hands.

Song Chi let out a silent “Oh?” but resisted the urge to immediately probe its details. Instead, he signaled with his mind:

    “Bring everything out.”

Levann hesitated for a moment but then quickly activated the storage ring again.

The hesitation was instinct, but the quick follow-up showed his respect for a “Dominion” powerhouse.

After all, if Song Chi wanted to rob him by force, hiding something from a Starsea Dominion was wishful thinking.

“Three golden sanctum oddities… No wonder the members of hegemonic civilizations are so extravagant!”

Looking at the three golden sanctum oddities clutched in Levann’s hand, Song Chi felt his breath catch, even with all the luxury now aboard the Heavenly Ruin.

But he calmed down quickly, marveling at the Witcher Civilization’s prosperity. Then he extended his senses.

A moment later, the attributes of the second golden oddity flashed before his eyes.

    Oddity: Blood Lord’s Core

    Quality: Gold

    Convertible: {Blood Furnace Engine}

Note: The blood core of a Tier 7 vampire lord, refined over a million years, contains inexhaustible blood energy.

This second golden oddity caught his eye, but that was as far as it went.

It was a high-grade golden engine component—precious, sure, but the Heavenly Ruin already had the superior Antimatter Evolution Engine. Not exactly a must-have.

If the third sanctum oddity couldn’t be converted into a component, Song Chi could overlook it for this core. But the moment his gaze landed on the third item, he froze, attention locked on a wing-shaped oddity.

Oddity: Wings of the Angel King

    Quality: Gold

    Convertible: {Angel King’s Authority Wings}

Note: All the wings left behind by an Eighth-Tier Angel King after death, transformed over hundreds of thousands of years into a golden sanctum oddity.

    ……

    Angel King’s Authority Wings lv0

    Quality: Gold

    Trait: Shield of Holy Light

Trait 2: Increases battleship speed by 140%

    Trait 3: +1000 Light Resistance

Trait 4: Angel • Wing Blink

Trait 5: True Spirit Guard of the Angel King

Consumption: 40 per second (Ethereal Energy)

Effect: When installed, feathered tail wings form on either side of the battleship’s stern, boosting hull strength at the rear.

Upgrade requirements: 40 strands of Floating-land Origin (Tier 0), 4000 Ethereal Energy, 1 drop of Angel Blood (Tier 0).

    {Shield of Holy Light: The Authority Wings are packed with holy radiance and, when installed, generate an extra layer of holy shield outside the ship’s energy barrier. The barrier’s value is half the standard shield of the same class, and after overload, buffers for 1 hour.}

    {Angel • Wing Blink: Costs 30,000 Ethereal Energy. Flap the Authority Wings to teleport to any location within 1000 km, as commanded by the Captain. Cooldown: 72 hours.}

    {True Spirit Guard of the Angel King: Costs 100,000 Ethereal Energy. Summons the Angel King’s true spirit for protection—within the effect range, all designated allied units enjoy 80% of the protective benefit. Lasts 30 minutes. Cooldown: 5 years.}

No doubt about it—the Angel King’s Authority Wings was a supremely rare, top-tier golden sanctum component.

It was a special part, boasting the Shield of Holy Light for heavy defenses, Angel • Wing Blink for emergency maneuvering, and the powerful group protection of True Spirit Guard. “Top-tier” almost didn’t do it justice.

Previously, the Heavenly Ruin had the Black Hole Evolution Layer, a black-tier ultimate component giving it dual hull armor. Now, pairing that with the Authority Wings’ twin shields, the ship’s defenses would leave every peer ship in the dust.

Song Chi couldn’t help but mutter to himself:

“Looks like the Heavenly Ruin’s on the fast track to being the ultimate tank ship. But… I love it!”

He continued, sending a telepathic message to Levann.

“I’ll take the Angel King’s Wings!”

When Levann saw the law-text appear on his projection screen, his eyes filled first with joy.

As long as the deal went through, he and his teacher would get generous rewards—especially since their grandmaster, despite only recently reaching true spirit witcher status, was a Dominion with treasures to spare.

But a flash of hesitance crossed his face. His grandmaster had warned him—the Angel King’s Wings was the most valuable of the three and should only be traded as a last resort.

Still, even if it was a bit of a shame, Levann didn’t hesitate. Both sides quickly finalized the deal.

As soon as the Imperial Barbarian Blood Puppet was handed over, the Angel King’s Wings was drawn away by Song Chi’s Dominion power.

With the Authority Wings finally in his grasp, Song Chi couldn’t stop a faint smile from appearing.

Once this part was leveled up, and the Heavenly Ruin advanced to a battleship, Song Chi could only imagine what kind of defense he’d command.

But there was one detail—leveling up this component required the blood of the angelic race. Early upgrades were easy, but by the fifth or sixth tier, he’d probably need blood from angels of equal strength.

Angelics were rare, so future upgrades might take serious effort.

Thankfully, it only needed regular angel blood, not essence or source blood—or it’d be even more troublesome.

“I remember the Stark Family enslaved quite a few angels. Maybe I can have someone else source it later. Can’t show up myself… I’ll need to send someone from outside,”

he mused, setting aside the issue.

After safely storing the golden sanctum oddity, he called out to Shen Youran, asking her to keep an ear out for any news about angel blood.

Once trading was done, Song Chi immediately took out the Yaoguang Star Order No. 32, and made a request in the Star Order group chat.

With those tasks handled, he didn’t leave the Market but instead made his way to the Full-Attribute Cultivation Chamber.

Now at level 50, the chamber’s boost to ethereal energy cultivation was mind-blowing.

With regular Dominion blood extracted from a previous specimen plus the fully upgraded chamber, Song Chi’s progress in the Guiding Technique soared. It was already up to level 45.

But today, cultivation wasn’t his focus.

Cross-legged in the chamber, Song Chi waved his hand and took out a strand of Silver Upgraded Fire Source from a nearby storage capsule.

He’d wanted to use this fire source ever since getting it, but various things always got in the way. Now, with nothing urgent, he finally had the perfect time.

The thought that absorbing this flame would evolve his Torch Seed to silver thrilled him.

The Black Hole Evolution Layer and Authority Wings might make the Heavenly Ruin nearly unbeatable in physical and energy defense, but true absolute defense required one more thing.

That was defense for the mind and spirit.

Currently, he had the Taoyi Soul-Suppressing Stele for soul suppression and the Soulcalling Demon Golem as a defensive spirit puppet. Not too flimsy, but still not enough.

The Soul-Suppressing Stele was only orange-grade. The Demon Golem was a step higher in red grade but still fell short against truly powerful spirit attacks.

But with a silver Torch Seed for soul protection, he’d finally have triune, unbeatable defense—physical, energy, and spiritual.

    He took a deep breath.

Song Chi started focusing, bringing himself into peak condition.

Swallowing an upgraded fire source of a higher grade had a high chance of success, but failures did happen. A silver-quality fire source was just too valuable—he couldn’t afford carelessness.

Several hours later, when he was at his best, Song Chi opened the Torch Ancestral Orifice at his brow. The silver fire source was drawn into the orifice space by a powerful force.

The fusion didn’t go smoothly. Evolving from red to silver was a genuine transformation in essence, so even with all of Song Chi’s effort, the merging process dragged out for quite a while.

Once the merge finally completed, Song Chi felt mentally exhausted to the limit. Thankfully, he held on till the end.

The instant his orifice domain flooded with silver light, it meant his Torch Seed had truly evolved from red to silver.

At the same time, his exhausted spirit suddenly recovered its vitality, leaving all the prior fatigue behind. It was like his very soul had ascended to a new level.

“Silver Torch Seed… It’s taken over a hundred and thirty years, but I finally made it.”

For a long moment, Song Chi was overwhelmed with emotion.

He marveled at the difficulty of the past century, then rejoiced at the prospects now opening before him.

A silver Torch Seed—what did that mean?

It meant that one of the highest barriers on the road to Star-Annihilator-class Captain had been toppled early. Now, his ship components could keep improving past the all-important seventh tier, and his hopes for future ascension to Dominion soared.

With so many thoughts tumbling in his mind, Song Chi shook his head, grounding himself.

This was just a mountain along the way—there were plenty more peaks ahead.

“Chi, can you hear me? The postwar debriefing is starting!”

Through the Voidform Avatar he had left outside, Song Chi suddenly heard the Family Patriarch calling.

Six words—”postwar debriefing meeting”—made his eyes sharpen instantly.

Postwar debriefing? To be honest, calling it a postwar plunder meeting was more accurate—it just sounded better this way.

This was the single most important meeting of the entire war. There was no way he’d miss it.

With a focused thought, his figure vanished from the cultivation chamber. Once back aboard the Heavenly Ruin, he didn’t rush off. Instead, he hit the showers, washing off all the sweat built up from merging the fire source.
