Chapter Index

Song Chi quickly regained his composure.

The stronger the power of this tricolor array, the longer it would take to wear it down—but that also meant its quality was higher. Whatever treasures it might be hiding inside were bound to be precious.

That thought only made him even more interested.

He gave the order, recalling all the Void Shadow Assassin Warriors and Fallen Angel Warriors he’d deployed. With that, the Heavenly Ruin surged upward, climbing high above the clouds.

Once he’d put enough distance between them and the array, three turrets at the bow—one main, two secondary—began to charge with radiant energy.

As the Myriad-Spirit Annihilation Bow, Taiyi Quantum Swordlight Battery, and Soul-Annihilating Iris Beam all powered up, Song Chi paused to think, then linked the Myriad-Spirit Annihilation Bow with the Black Hole Evolution Layer and committed 1000 points of black hole energy for its next strike.

Now that the Black Hole Evolution Layer had been upgraded to Tier Six, its energy pool had expanded to 10,000 points. The max for triggering its ‘Collapse’ effect was now a full thousand. Song Chi planned to pair it with the Myriad-Spirit Annihilation Bow for a full‑force blast.

When charging was complete, all three main cannons fired in succession. Rays of light, sword energy, and arrow-like bolts slammed into the tricolor array below, each unleashing a different type of energy.

Unlike the Skybreaker Drill’s earlier strike, this time the outer layer erupted in violent explosions. Shockwaves rippled outward, causing fierce undulations across the surface of the array.

But when the chaos faded, the array looked completely unchanged in Song Chi’s eyes.

If anything, it seemed even less effective than the Skybreaker Drill’s earlier shot.

Thankfully, the spatial collapse triggered by those 1000 points of black hole energy wasn’t done yet; it kept chipping away, hammering at the tricolor array.

Even if you couldn’t see the damage with the naked eye, the array’s power was still being worn down, bit by bit.

The only problem was, the spatial stability of this Immortal Domain Continent Fragment was far superior to the Seventh‑Tier Floating-land. The collapse effect from 1000 black hole energy did little—only a small section of space was truly torn apart, and an even smaller area actually intersected the array.

Song Chi’s expression didn’t change, but his eyes grew sharper.

With a thought, the Heavenly Ruin soared higher once more.

What they’d fired just now was only the regular barrage. Next up, Song Chi planned to unleash the cannons’ special attack traits—a move that would send even stronger shockwaves. Even up here, the Heavenly Ruin still wasn’t entirely safe.

Once they’d gained even more altitude, the three main cannons powered up again. This time, the energy building at the bow was far more intense.

A searing soul-killing beam, the silhouette of a quantum sword stretching tens of thousands of meters, and a dazzling annihilation arrow wreathed in silver light—each was ready to strike.

    “Still not strong enough!”

With a sharp shout, Song Chi shifted his entire focus to the Black Hole Evolution Layer, splitting the remaining 9000 points of energy in two—1000 more for a second collapse effect, and the other 8000 compressed and condensed into a singularity.

He transferred this singularity into the Taiyi Quantum Swordlight Battery, so it’d be unleashed alongside the next burst of the True Immortal Quantum Blade.

Song Chi had chosen not to use the Myriad-Spirit Annihilation Bow this time, knowing its Life-bane Arrow trait worked mainly on carbon-based life. It wasn’t as effective on formation patterns.

    Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh!

Three terrifying attacks burst forth almost simultaneously, thundering down and slamming straight into the tricolor array.

    Boom!

The force of the impact swept across the entire continent fragment. Broad as this fragment’s source rules were, its diameter was barely more than a thousand kilometers—about the size of a third-tier floating-land, not that large at all.

In that storm of explosions, the singularity formed from 8000 black hole energy suddenly erupted, transforming into a micro black hole in an instant.

    Sizzle!

Under the crushing mass of that micro black hole, space itself began collapsing at breakneck speed.

Even though the spatial integrity of the Immortal Domain Continent Fragment was off the charts, not even it could resist collapse on such a scale when faced with a micro black hole.

The spreading collapse quickly clashed with the tricolor array, and the two forces began to battle head-on.

Finally, Song Chi saw clear shifts in the array below—its radiance pulsed in and out. No matter how strong it was, taking a micro black hole head-on rattled its very foundation.

Unfortunately, the micro black hole born from the energy singularity couldn’t last forever. Before long, it dissolved from lack of energy.

“Judging by how much dimmer the array looks, maybe ten more shots like that would finally destroy it…”

Muttering to himself, Song Chi frowned in thought.

At least the black hole energy pool was manageable; with the Antimatter Evolution Engine supplying steady power, he didn’t need to soak up energy from outside sources. Recharge times weren’t too bad.

The real problem was the ‘Black Hole Singular Burst’ trait.

It had a base cooldown of five years—even after reductions from Timepiece Chess and a hastily triggered Zen Seal · Internal · Time Acceleration, there was still a wait of eight and a half months. He’d calculated that it’d need nine or ten more uses to guarantee success… which meant six years or more to pull it off.

That wasn’t a particularly long time, all things considered. If nothing else changed, Song Chi could accept it. But there was no telling if he actually had that much time.

If Rosetta Morningstar hurried over ahead of schedule, all his efforts would be wasted.

After a long pause, Song Chi seemed to reach a decision.

He summoned the Heavenly Ruin back, let himself drift in midair for a moment shrouded in dark energy, and then vanished again.

At the Omniverse Market, he didn’t hang around. Before long, he had disappeared and reappeared on the Dragon‑Spine Continent.

As soon as he called forth his flagship, he shot straight toward Dragon Spine Sacred Mountain.

But this time, he wasn’t after the Dragon-Spine Secret Domain—he was heading for the ancestral hall where their forebear still remained in seclusion.

    “Star-Annihilator Cannon?”

Deep within the Dragon Spine Sacred Mountain, inside the Song Clan Ancestral Hall.

Song Wujian looked at Song Chi in surprise, then responded quickly:

“Chi, you must mean the part Dingbang repurposed into a Sub-Star Annihilator Cannon right?”

Song Chi nodded. That was exactly the component he’d come to borrow.

He’d seen Song Dingbang use it once before; it had obliterated a half-step seventh-tier Doomstar right on the spot. The impression it left was unforgettable.

If he wanted to wipe out the tricolor array as quickly as possible, this family trump card was the first thing to come to mind.

Song Chi had assumed the old ancestor might hesitate, but to his surprise, Song Wujian answered immediately.

With a wave, Song Wujian tossed him a token and said,

“Head to Inheritance Battleship Room 2. That part’s loaded onto the clan’s second inheritance battleship. If that’s still not enough, there’s also a gold-grade upgraded ‘Star Annihilator’s Wrath’ you can use.”

Song Chi left the ancestral hall beaming. The old man’s trust was obvious—he’d fully welcomed Song Chi into the family’s core circle. No wonder Song Chi was thrilled.

He made his way to the family’s battleship inheritance room, pausing for a moment.

Until now, he’d only heard of Room 1, which held the quadruply advanced Zhulu‑class cruiser equipped with the Tri-Eye Spirit-Lock Ring. This was his first time hearing about Room 2.

Entering the cave where Room 2 was concealed, he found a heavy stone door etched with profound patterns. The door blocked his way, but as soon as he produced the token Song Wujian had given him, it swung open.

Just beyond the door, a battleship more than ten kilometers long loomed into view.

Clearly, the clan’s second inheritance warship was a full-fledged battleship.

Song Chi narrowed his eyes, thinking he’d been right all along.

The Song Clan really did have plenty of hidden foundations.

Before he could muse any further, an ancient voice echoed from the depths of the warship.

    “What brings you here?”

Snapping out of his thoughts, Song Chi offered a respectful bow.

“Ancestor, I’ve come to borrow the Sub-Star Annihilator’s Wrath and the Star Annihilator’s Wrath components.”

Maybe because he was holding the token, the ancient voice didn’t interrogate him further. The hatch slid open, and a silver and a gold component were tossed out to him in turn.

Song Chi took a quick glance as he caught them.

    Star Annihilator’s Wrath—Level 70.

    Quality: Gold.

Only trait: Mimicry · Star Annihilator’s Wrath.

    {Mimicry · Star Annihilator’s Wrath: When activated, the component mimics a Star-Annihilator Cannon’s strike, unleashing the full force of a regular gold-grade Star-Annihilator Cannon. After firing, the turret immediately exits mimicry mode.}

    ———

    Sub-Star Annihilator’s Wrath—Level 60.

    Quality: Silver.

    Only trait: Mimicry · Sub-Star Annihilator’s Wrath.

Song Chi’s eyes flickered with surprise—this was his first time seeing the family’s secret trump cards up close.

Compared to normal components, these two were clearly different. But their traits explained exactly why they were so powerful.

This inheritance battleship also had a component similar to the Tri-Eye Spirit-Lock Ring, allowing damage-free removal. No need to head to Room 1 after all.

He guessed, though, the number of times it could be removed per use was probably far less than the Tri-Eye Spirit-Lock Ring. Maybe it only worked internally, not externally—otherwise, that ring wouldn’t be so treasured by the clan.

Song Chi gave another bow and left the second inheritance room.

Back on the Immortal Domain Continent Fragment, Song Chi once more appeared high above. As soon as the Heavenly Ruin arrived, he installed the Sub-Star Annihilator’s Wrath component onto his ship.

This component was currently level 60, perfectly compatible with the Heavenly Ruin. But the level 70 Star Annihilator’s Wrath was another story—if installed, the Heaven Ruin would automatically downgrade to level 69, and the process couldn’t be reversed or refunded for lost resources. Unless it was absolutely necessary, Song Chi wouldn’t risk it.

According to the unknown ancestor aboard the inheritance warship, both components would retain their current enhancement level for at least two months.

During that window, Song Chi planned to test the Sub-Star Annihilator’s Wrath thoroughly. If it worked well enough, he’d return the gold-grade Star Annihilator’s Wrath ahead of schedule.

The jump from level 69 to 70 may just be one level, but to reach it meant needing both a Seventh‑Tier Floating-land origin and a Dominion Soul. If he could save those resources, all the better.

After all the life-and-death battles he’d gone through, Song Chi only had eight Dominion Souls to his name.

Having already installed the Sub-Star Annihilator’s Wrath, Song Chi didn’t activate it right away. The black hole energy pool was empty for now. He’d wait for it to recharge with help from the Antimatter Evolution Engine—it wouldn’t take long.

A little more than ten days later, the Black Hole Evolution Layer’s energy pool was full again.

That day, as the Heavenly Ruin hovered quietly in the sky, a surge of silver light gathered at the bow. The Myriad-Spirit Annihilation Bow shimmered and shifted, becoming a Star-Annihilator Cannon that only specialized battleships could carry.

In the main control room, Song Chi didn’t hesitate—he immediately started charging the Sub-Star Annihilator Cannon for an attack.

For now, it was just a standard strike, not the full ‘Mimicry · Sub-Star Annihilator’s Wrath’ attack.

Once transformed, the cannon had ten shots. Each ordinary strike carried a tenth the power of a regular silver Star-Annihilator Cannon—a match for most tier-six main batteries’ special attacks. Song Chi wouldn’t waste the opportunity.

The catch was, after firing the Mimicry mode, the cannon would lose its form and revert immediately. He had to get the most out of each shot first.

    Boom!

Dozens of seconds later, the Sub-Star Annihilator Cannon was ready. A blazing bolt, wider than anything he’d fired yet, ripped through the sky.

It crashed into the tricolor array below, unleashing a violent ripple.

After that, Song Chi fired eight more shots. Now there was only one left.

    Mimicry · Sub-Star Annihilator’s Wrath—ACTIVATE!

Song Chi finally triggered the cannon’s one‑of‑a‑kind special trait. At the bow of the Heavenly Ruin, a colossal beam more than a thousand kilometers wide began to gather.

After a long, ferocious charge-up, the massive Star-Annihilator beam tore through the sky.

    The air buzzed and roared.

Wherever the light passed, cracks splintered through space. With his Dual Pupils, Song Chi watched as the beam hammered the array below.

A torrent of energy erupted, blanketing the place.

It took more than ten minutes for the shockwaves to finally die down. Song Chi’s gaze darted downward, locking onto the array—and a clear, visible joy flickered in his eyes.

The Sub-Star Annihilator Cannon’s special attack really was something else. Just that one shot had wiped out more than half the array’s power; its bright colors now faded nearly to gray.

By Song Chi’s estimate, just three or four more Black Hole Singular Bursts would finish the job.

With that, he wasted no time in returning the gold-grade Star Annihilator’s Wrath component.

    Chapter Summary
