    Boom!!

    Boom!!!

Inside the Ghost Battlefield, a wearied figure roared as a storm of spear shadows burst forth like a violent pear blossom rain, each thrust striking with brutal force.

A radiant arc pierced the sky, and after a fearsome roar, a phantom blood dragon lunged forth, suddenly devouring the entire building.

    Collapse. Shattering.

Splintering stones grazed Yinglong’s face, yet he neither flinched nor dodged.

    He panted heavily.

Gazing at the blood seeping from the rubble, both he and the remaining Blood Shadow members trembled with excitement.

    Exhausted. So damn tired.

“Commander Yinglong! It’s over! We finally did it!!”

“One hundred heads! We’ve finally gathered them all!”

Dragging a broken leg, a Third-Stage Advanced Awakener who had entered with high spirits now stood behind Yinglong, his voice tinged with tears.

    Unimaginable.

Ever since that powerful and mysterious NPC assigned them the mission, they spent four days and four nights to pull this off!

No surprise—most of the reinforcements they brought in were inexplicably taken down by the Otherworldly Ghost Monarch.

Although the survivors were formidable, they simply couldn’t match in numbers.

A hundred Third-Stage Otherworldly Ghosts! Killing them wasn’t hard—but finding them was nearly impossible!

Perhaps due to the death of the Otherworldly Ghost Monarch, a swarm of Third-Stage Advanced Otherworldly Ghosts suddenly emerged to attack, only for the remaining ghosts to mysteriously vanish, hiding on every level.

Facing ghosts with camouflage and high intelligence, only a ghost could know just how miserable these days had been.

    Endless searches, endless battles!

Battling roughly once an hour, they finally managed to meet the mission’s requirements!

Leaning on his spear, even Yinglong—the Peak Third-Stage powerhouse—was filled with emotion.

He drew a deep breath and slowly closed his eyes.

As if to subdue an indescribable surge of emotion, he spoke in a low, steady voice:

“Let’s go! We’re out of here!”

Dungeon settlement! He’s about to finalize the rewards!

His face lit up with fervor and boundless excitement.

After holstering his spear and rising, Yinglong’s tired eyes shone with pride—as if he had already envisioned claiming his Legendary Suit reward!

With the suit in hand and his formidable strength…

Among Peak Third-Stage combatants, he was the ultimate powerhouse!

Across the globe, who else but I!

The sprawling Far Frontier Battle Zone would now belong entirely to him!

If his ambition grew even further…

In this chaotic apocalypse, if Yinglong bided his time for years and devoured the entire Far Frontier, maybe he could even challenge domination over China!

The Military? Just a bunch of losers!

Caught up in their exalted ambition and exhilaration, none of the remaining Bloodshadow Legion members noticed the expression on Blood Nightingale’s face as she lingered at the back.

Standing far from Yinglong, Blood Nightingale trembled slightly, as if cornered by a formidable foe.

Her face was pallid; no one could guess what she was thinking.

    It’s over…

Yinglong had completed the ‘mission’ assigned by Yenir.

But that damned bastard had left without so much as a backward glance toward her!

No matter how many messages she sent, there was no reply!

Tears without the strength to cry.

Like a girl discarded after being toyed with, Blood Nightingale’s bitter expression replayed the image of herself being torn apart by Yinglong’s furious rage.

With her sharp wit, she quickly deduced what would happen once Yinglong concluded the settlement…

There’d be no damn reward… Who needs a mysterious NPC?!

It was nothing but Yenir’s doing!

“Miss Blood Nightingale, you’ve worked hard on this dungeon.”

“I have to say, you’re truly my lucky charm. Thank you for taking on that NPC’s mission for me—otherwise, who knows how this would have ended.”

    In high spirits.

Yinglong, smiling with uncontained joy, paid no mind to Blood Nightingale’s anxious expression.

He was sincerely grateful to Blood Nightingale and that mysterious NPC.

Strangely enough, not only did they help him take down the Otherworldly Ghost Monarch, but they even left him a task!

His luck was nothing short of phenomenal!

    …………………….

    Ten minutes later.

Inside a dark underground chamber of the building, the Bloodshadow Legion members—having long since settled—glanced at the dungeon’s light gate with suspicion.

    “Commander… still not out?”

“Who gets out that early? The Commander’s probably admiring his Legendary Suit reward.”

“Yeah, if it were me, I wouldn’t have come out so soon. But did your settlement include anything else?”

“Why did I get nothing? Doesn’t that mysterious NPC’s mission count in the system settlement?”

    “No idea… maybe it’s a special mission?”

Beside the light gate, Blood Nightingale listened in silence to the idle chatter, her heart filled with deep unease and anxiety.

Yinglong still hadn’t emerged, though she knew he wasn’t simply too excited to stay in there testing his suit.

Chances were high… at this moment, Yinglong was probably going berserk in the settlement space….

And with a sinking heart, she confirmed… Yenir had indeed abandoned her long ago.

She was nothing more than a tool—used up and then discarded.

That bastard didn’t give a damn about her well-being.

    Just as expected.

Just as Blood Nightingale, bitter with dismay, mustered the courage to flee, the light gate in the chamber began to tremble suddenly.

A staggering figure stumbled out of the gate before the Bloodshadow Legion members could even instinctively heap compliments.

In the next second, a roar of sorrow and fury pierced the sky.

    “Ahhhhhhh!!!!!!”

    “Fake!!! It’s all fake!!”

“Where’s my suit?! Where’s my reward?!”

    “Boom!!!”

Wearing a wild expression with bloodshot eyes.

Nearly in a frenzy, Yinglong whipped his head toward a smirking subordinate busy with flattery.

On the verge of losing his sanity, he felt that that smug grin was mocking him!

    “Bang”

With his right hand, he suddenly clutched the subordinate’s neck. Yinglong’s eyes turned demonic red as he furiously demanded,

“Did you tamper with my reward? Was it you?!”

“Who’s lying to me?! Who’s lying?!”

    “Boom!!!”

Like a madman, in the settlement space, Yinglong repeatedly confirmed there was no reward. God knows how furious he was.

After fighting hundreds of grueling battles, he had expected to claim the Legendary Suit—only to end up with a measly pair of Blue-Grade Gear!

The system settlement message bluntly informed him that he hadn’t completed any tasks, with a dismal rating!

Such a humiliating discrepancy was more than he could bear!

    “Sir!! Sir!!! Please, no!!”

    “It wasn’t me… it wasn’t!!!”

    “Bang!!”

So consumed by anger, Yinglong no longer had the sense to heed the Third-Stage fighter’s explanation.

In a fit of madness, he crushed the Third-Stage fighter’s head with his grip, then fixed his crazed gaze on everyone.

    “Was it you?!”

    “Was it you?!”

    “Speak!!”

    “Ahhhhh!!”

Under the deep night sky, screams intertwined with furious shouts in a heart-wrenching cacophony.

    ………..

A few minutes later, as the entire building crumbled into ruins, Yinglong, hovering above the wreckage, finally calmed like a silent statue.

As if recalling something, after venting and gradually regaining composure, he fixed his gaze on the cowering Blood Nightingale and coldly said:

“I’m curious. Among us, who is scheming against me…”

“Miss Blood Nightingale… did you receive your reward?”

    Chapter Summary
