Chapter Index

    “Re… resurrection!?”

In a moment of eerie silence, no matter how powerful an Awakener might be, every heart clenched in shock as they watched Yenir be reborn from the flames.

They witnessed Yenir’s Spirit Shield being pummeled by a barrage of skills, his body splintering into pieces and meeting a grisly death in an instant.

Among them, an arrow—gleaming like a crossbow bolt—pierced right through Yenir’s heart.

Yet at that moment, Yenir, having risen anew from the blood and flames, smirked at them like an undying demon.

More terrifying than raw power is the ability to rise again from the dead.

Not even mutants, not even formidable Awakeners could ever pull off resurrection!

    “You look quite surprised?”

Wearing a gentle smile, he disregarded the swarming mass of Third-Stagers that had encircled him.

After another resurrection accompanied by four Dimensional Surges, Yenir tilted his head lazily as he eyed Kudo rushing toward him.

    Tsk.

His speed was impressive—a whirlwind of daggers swirled around him, clearly poised to claim his body.

Unfortunately, it seemed he had made them forget his true nature.

“You… you… are you human or a ghost!?”

    His charging stance froze mid-step.

Confronted by raging bloodfire and at least two layers of sinister aura emanating from Yenir’s back, Kudo felt his calves trembling while his face turned deathly pale.

He had seen those capable of resurrection before.

They were death-tier malevolent spirits from supernatural events!

He couldn’t fathom how Yenir had come back to life. In the midst of this bizarre scene, even his once-burning greed seemed to vanish.

“The skill you took… it can’t be like this… it just can’t!”

He couldn’t accept that his judgment was mistaken, nor could he believe this was the work of a human.

Behind his extreme terror lay a touch of madness.

Kudo Jirou, as if driven insane, could no longer contain his fear. With a panicked scream, he lunged, dagger in hand, aiming to pierce Yenir’s head.

Kill him again! Kill him again!

He refused to believe that anyone in this world could truly cheat death—that an Awakener could overcome them all!

It has to be fake! It must be an illusion!

Yet just as he glared fiercely, summoning every ounce of strength to deliver a dazzling stab, a crisp sound of shattering flesh suddenly erupted.

Yenir, unleashing his Tearwind Effect, looked unnervingly calm as he transformed his right hand into a blade and plunged it straight into Kudo’s chest.

    His gaze brimmed with pity.

Watching the only one who couldn’t bear the pain—an already half-mad Yamamoto—Yenir smirked before crushing his heart with one swift grip.

    His mind was surprisingly fragile.

It was bold enough to strike, but… this little fool seemed to have forgotten his own defenses.

Even under enormous strain, his body’s defenses were as flimsy as tofu against a fully resurrected Yenir.

    Glug glug.

    He vomited gushes of blood.

Like a fish nailed to a board.

Realizing his life force was rapidly draining, this Peak Third-Stage warrior of the Japanese Battle Zone—once hailed as a top powerhouse by countless survivors—seemed to have forgotten his abilities, even his status as an Awakener, as he subconsciously glanced at the hand on his chest.

As reason returned, he finally realized how many mistakes he’d made.

“We should have… uh… killed you long ago…”

    Thud.

The lifeless body sent shockwaves through the surrounding Third-Stagers.

They should have kept fighting, or maybe even fled; yet somehow, the Third-Stagers present were rendered dumbfounded, their minds in total chaos like frightened ostriches.

How could it come to this?

Why would the weakest fighter in the Huaxia Battle Zone become the strongest?

How is it that the one who could decimate them all is just a single man?

No one could answer their questions.

Likewise, Yenir intended to give them little time to react.

Gazing at Kudo’s dead body on the ground, Yenir smirked, shook his head, and wiped the blood off his hand.

He had actually considered sparing him; after all, these Japanese Third-Stagers were top ranks back home, and controlling them would ease his future plans.

    But…

If they must be killed, then so be it—he was too tired to risk dying again.

Scanning the pallid faces around him, Yenir spoke softly once more:

    “Last chance.”

    “Submit, or die.”

His words struck them like a heavy hammer.

The last time Yenir said these words, they dismissed him as a madman. Now, however, they fully grasped the severity of the situation!

They had slain so many, sacrificing so much to kill him!

    Yet this monster could resurrect!!

Even though they appeared to have the upper hand, they still retained their fighting strength. But…

Just as the Indian Battle Zone began to waver and fall silent…

The Central Asian Battle Zone Captain, leading the charge and defying fate, bellowed:

    “Attack! He can’t resurrect indefinitely!”

“If he could truly kill us all, he would have already struck!”

Some people are just unbearably brave.

Seeing the unyielding fighters from the Central Asian side, Yenir furrowed his brow as he realized that unless the death toll shattered their resolve, no amount of intimidation would force them to surrender.

After all, human nature only sheds tears when faced with the coffin.

    Then…

Should we kill a few more?

Amidst a swarm of Third-Stagers leading the renewed charge from Central Asia, all eyes were on him.

Yenir snorted dismissively, too lazy for more words.

    Dimensional Surge!

    Mind Shock!

If he’s courting death, then at worst he’ll capture fewer survivors. More casualties? It’s just a waste!

    Boom!!!

As Yenir vanished in an instant, consumed by rage, he unleashed a hundred consecutive strikes before leaping out of the dimension to target his next victim.

He was eager to see how many he’d kill before this group of Peak Third-Stagers finally trembled!

    ……………

Atop a distant building, members of the Huaguo Military—left by Yenir to intercept retreating escapees—stood gawking as they watched the unfolding century-long battle.

Frankly, they had never imagined someone could be strong enough to go one-on-one with an entire nation.

By strict calculations, while the number of Third-Stagers present might be tiny compared to a nation, their quality was on par with that of a small, even standard, power.

Yet before Yenir, it was nothing short of a one-sided massacre.

Though they had been shocked time and again, watching the Four Battle Zones barely manage to kill Yenir—only for him to resurrect moments later—left them with a chilling, hair-raising dread.

Fuck, how the hell are we supposed to fight this..

Thank goodness—thank goodness Yenir was on our side.
