Chapter Index

    That burst of excitement faded as quickly as it appeared. The group of Eight-Armed Serpent Demons immediately sensed a suffocating threat of death coming from the blood spear screaming toward them.

    But it wasn’t just the blood spear. Closely following in its wake came a barrage of crackling violet lightning.

    Yet the first thing to strike the target wasn’t the blood spear or the blazing lightning—it was two barely perceptible streaks of golden light.

    Both gold beams were nearly invisible. One shone with a bright luster while the other was noticeably dimmer. The brighter gold streak struck first, burying itself into the body of the leading seventh-tier Serpent Dominator.

    The instant the bright gold light touched the Serpent Demon Dominator’s skin, it sensed something was wrong. But it was already too late.

    Before it could do anything, it was caught in a strange state of time-stop.

    The time-stop effect froze its body on the spot, leaving it no chance to dodge or defend in any way.

    Whoosh!

    The second, dimmer gold light followed close behind and also sank into its flesh, but this time, nothing seemed to happen—almost as if that gold flash was nothing but an illusion.

    Because the will of the Floating-land Origin supported the Demon Serpent Floating-Land, what should have been a ten-second time-stop only lasted barely two seconds on this seventh-tier Serpent Dominator.

    But just as it managed to break free from the time-stop, a second wave of bright gold light was already streaking in.

    It was another ‘Zen Seal: External Time Stop’ gold beam.

    As expected, the Serpent Demon Dominator was imprisoned in time again.

    This time, before it could break out, the blood-red spear and violent purple lightning arrived right in front of it.

    Boom! Boom! Boom!

    Explosions ripped across the surface of the Demon Serpent Continent.

    The blood spear slammed straight into the Serpent Dominator’s chest, erupting with a violent blast that gouged a gaping, bloody hole through its body. Silver-tinged Sovereign Blood spurted wildly from the wound.

    If that were the end of it, the situation wouldn’t yet be critical for a Sovereign creature bolstered by a ninth-level Floating-land Origin. But that was just the first attack.

    Next, all the Black Hole Energy embedded in the blood spear exploded out. A miniature black hole rapidly took shape in the Dominator’s torn-up chest, its savage pull and crushing force nearly tearing the Dominator apart. Thankfully, after shaking off the time-stop a second time, it managed to use a black oddity to flash escape from the miniature black hole’s killing zone.

    Once it was clear of the Black Hole Energy field, its caved-in chest started to roil and churn. Blood and the Earth Law surged within, aided by external support from the Floating-land Origin and its own exceptional regenerative power. Unbelievably, its wounds began to heal.

    Just as hope flickered in the Serpent Dominator’s blood-red eyes, something inside its body shifted again—this time snuffing out that hope for good.

    The ‘God of the Hunt’s Weakpoint Mark’ that had burrowed deep within it earlier suddenly detonated.

    The attack that had nearly killed it not long ago played out a second time inside its own flesh. The already recovering wounds were torn open again, far worse than before. Not even the full might of the Demon Serpent Continent’s Floating-land Origin could save it this time.

    Above, thousands of violet lightning sigils from the Ten-Thousand Sigil Violet Lightning Prison erupted at once. The explosion hurled the Eight-Armed Serpent Demons behind the Dominator into utter chaos.

    Those among them below fourth-tier were reduced to ash on the spot. The dozens of fifth-tier and above barely hung on, but they were on their last legs.

    Buzz! Buzz! Buzz!

    Ripples of space swept through as the Heavenly Ruin blinked onto the field, bringing the final blow.

    Song Chi picked the perfect point for his teleport, landing dead center among the Eight-Armed Serpent Demons. Instantly, with no hesitation, he activated the ‘High-Energy Particle Storm’ feature of the Neutron-Star Core Armor.

    The devastation unleashed rivaled that of the Ten-Thousand Sigil Violet Lightning Prison. In one sweep, the remaining Serpent Demons were completely annihilated.

    Among them was the barely breathing seventh-tier Serpent Demon Dominator.

    Inside the Heavenly Ruin’s command center, Song Chi deactivated the particle storm after a few dozen seconds. Then, beams of light shot from the ship, latching onto the falling serpent demon corpses.

    In less than twenty seconds, Song Chi used the ship’s tractor beams and its modular scaling systems to collect three sixth-tier Serpent Demon bodies and the single surviving seventh-tier Dominator. With no time to linger, he triggered a second flash-displacement component, and the Heavenly Ruin vanished from the battlefield.

    He couldn’t help feeling a little regret over the many serpent demon corpses he had to leave behind, but Song Chi didn’t dwell on it.

    Given another chance, he would make the exact same call.

    Under his feet stretched the Demon Serpent Continent—home to trillions of Eight-Armed Serpent Demons. It had only been five days, but in that time, Song Chi had learned from a reliable source that over half of the tens of thousands of elite Torch Battleships had already been destroyed.

    All of this came from the sheer, overwhelming numbers wielded by the Eight-Armed Serpent Demons.

    No one could be sure if a super-powerful Serpent Demon lurked nearby. The Eyes of Heaven had decent detection, but it wasn’t foolproof. Serpent Demons equipped with high-grade stealth oddities could slip right past it.

    So, to guarantee his own safety, Song Chi stayed as cautious as possible. This was his real body after all. If anything happened now, it would be game over.

    Only after racing a safe distance away did Song Chi finally slow the Heavenly Ruin down.

    It was only then his gaze shifted to the Soul-Devourer Sacrificial Altar.

    {Soul-Devourer: Ascension… Current soul-devouring progress: Stage Four 100%. All soul energy fully charged.}

    Seeing those words—‘All soul energy fully charged’—Song Chi finally let out a long breath.

    Now at last, he could summon the Mirror Warship.

    As the ‘Mirror Image Split’ component was activated, an energy surge rippled at the side of the Heavenly Ruin. In moments, a warship almost identical to the original began to appear.

    He was eager to test some of the Mirror Warship’s functions, but first, Song Chi called his flagship back. The moment his true body entered the Mirror Warship and the hatch sealed shut, the vessel’s inner space was fully isolated. Song Chi left a Voidform Avatar aboard the Mirror Warship while his true self dove into the Omniverse Market.

    Of course, several days back, he’d already planted a spatial anchor in a hidden mountain cave. Even if the Mirror Warship got wrecked later, he could use that anchor to return to the Demon Serpent Continent anytime.

    Within the Omniverse Market, Song Chi kept his eyes closed, pouring all his focus into the Voidform Avatar.

    Soul-Devourer Sacrificial Altar lv80

    Quality: Black

    Unique Feature: Soul-Devourer: Ascension

    Consumption: 3800 per second (Eon Energy Points)

    Effect: After installation, every sentient being slain directly by the warship will have its soul absorbed by this component.

    ……

    {Soul-Devourer: Ascension: Consumes ten million Eon Energy Points and shatters this component as the cost. All devoured souls are spent to let a chosen component ascend in quality, guaranteeing an increase by one tier. Current Ascension Progress: Stage Four, 100% (Note: This component can now ascend black-grade components to color/lesser-grade color components)}

    When Song Chi saw the Mirror Warship’s copied Soul-Devourer Sacrificial Altar had also maxed out its progress bar, he wasn’t surprised.

    Controlling the Mirror Warship, he began activating the various functions of the Mirage Dragon Metamorphosis Pearl while pondering which ship component should get this ascension boost.

    Even though he wasn’t yet sure if the copied Soul-Devourer Sacrificial Altar would actually work on the Mirror Warship, he couldn’t just pick at random.

    It was a one-use item after all. Even if the Mirror Warship could be resummoned, there’d be downtime, and time was everything for the current Demon Serpent Continent operation.

    His gaze swept the ship out of habit, but truthfully, he’d already picked out a few key components.

    Neutron-Star Core Armor.

    Black Hole Evolution Layer.

    Divine Thunder Cannon.

    No explanation needed—those first two were top-tier for both attack and defense. Upgrading even one of them to color-mythic grade would push the Heavenly Ruin’s power to a new level.

    But he also included the gold-grade main cannon for a simple reason—Song Chi prized the Divine Thunder Cannon’s ‘Ninefold Violet Heaven World-Ending Calamity Thunder’ feature.

    He’d tested it plenty of times; turning it into the Star-Annihilator Cannon to summon the ninefold calamity thunder brought unparalleled annihilation.

    If it evolved to black quality, paired with the advanced silver Lightning Law Crystal he’d long since given to the Voidform Avatar, Song Chi could hardly imagine its full might.

    He’d planned this for nearly two centuries. He’d considered every angle a hundred times.

    He focused on these three components for good reason, so it took only a moment to make his choice.

    {Activate Soul-Devourer Sacrificial Altar? This is a one-use item. Proceed with caution!}

    “Do it!”

    As soon as the Voidform Avatar replied, a second mechanical prompt sounded.

    {Soul-Devourer Sacrificial Altar activated. Please select the target component for ascension!}

    “Neutron-Star Core Armor!”

    In the end, Song Chi picked the Neutron-Star Core Armor. As the Voidform Avatar spoke, the real Song Chi in the Omniverse Market instinctively held his breath.

    Everything he’d gambled on hinged on this final step. No wonder he was so nervous.

    Chapter Summary
