Chapter 675: A Band of Desperados (Night 3)

Seventh Floor, in front of the main exit. Lin.

    Xiao Yu raised his hand.

Wang Dong and the members of Team Two halted in their tracks.

Bending down, Xiao Yu pressed his ear against the door for a couple of seconds before raising his hand and signaling to everyone.

    Draw your guns!

Including Wang Dong, all quickly pulled out their sidearms and released the safety.

There were no flashy cinematic moves in the whole sequence.

Nor was there the slightest sound.

Xiao Yu reached out and gripped the door handle.

In an instant, he yanked it open!

    Bang!

    Gunshots erupted.

The noise was off—a makeshift pistol, not a proper firearm.

All the details flashed through Xiao Yu’s mind as his body nimbly dodged the attack.

    Bang, bang, bang!

Gunshots rang out from the hands of Wang Dong and the others.

Outside the safe passage, a young man armed with a pistol was blasted to pieces.

As the gunfire ceased, Xiao Yu charged in without hesitation.

    Huh?

He stood before a mountain of flesh.

It was a roughly thirty-year-old man, over two meters tall and as round as a ball.

A fierce, wild grin spread across his face, resembling a deranged boar.

The moment Xiao Yu appeared, the bulky man had already raised a thick iron rod.

With a gust of terrifying force, he hurled it violently at Xiao Yu.

    Thud!

Xiao Yu’s palm caught the descending iron rod.

A muffled thud came from beneath his feet, as if the earth itself was trembling.

The ferocious look on the bulky man’s face vanished as he stared blankly at Xiao Yu.

Gazing at Xiao Yu’s hand clutching the iron rod, he seemed to witness something utterly unbelievable.

    “Had your fun?”

Xiao Yu replied coolly, “Your turn?”

With a slow but powerful swing of his thigh, like an axe slicing through the air,

even though the bulky man stood as tall as two men,

Xiao Yu’s kick smacked his fat, flesh-covered face forcefully.

    Thud!

It was like a sledgehammer striking the man’s head.

The once mountain-like body was flipped sideways by that single kick.

In the blink of an eye, a palm appeared on the bulky man’s face.

Grabbing him tightly, and pressing downward.

The massive body was pinned against the ground by Xiao Yu’s hand.

    Boom!

A deep crash, mixed with the sound of cracking bones.

Bright red blood mingled with white brain matter, seeping slowly from beneath Xiao Yu’s raised hand…

Watching Xiao Yu, whose expression remained unmoved from start to finish, the bulky man’s mouth opened as if to speak—but his eyes turned vacant and lifeless…

Wang Dong approached, glanced at the corpse of the bulky man, and frowned, “A band of desperados?”

    “Absolutely,” came the reply.

Xiao Yu wiped his hand with a wet wipe passed by a teammate. “They’re used to killing. They don’t see their kin as kin. What they do is trade in human organs. If caught, it’s a death sentence. They’re bound to flee—and fight fiercely!”

Team Two began searching the seventh floor.

They discovered a surveillance room, a storage room, and two criminals.

Next were the eighth and ninth floors… each an arranged apartment room.

They arrested eleven people in total—all medical staff.

On the tenth floor, the scene before Xiao Yu and Wang Dong turned out to be a… small hospital.

Exam rooms, operating theaters, wards… you name it.

    Then came the eleventh floor.

    Bang! Bang!

Two gunshots; two armed men fell before Xiao Yu.

A long corridor bordered by iron doors on every side.

Xiao Yu and Wang Dong proceeded step by step, opening each door.

Inside were people who had been imprisoned.

Both men and women, all aged between 20 and 30.

    Exactly 22 individuals!

“Don’t be afraid. We’re the police!”

    When Xiao Yu said this,

some were terrified, some relieved, some broke down in tears, while many others were visibly excited…

Xiao Yu left the eleventh floor and ascended to the twelfth.

This was the top floor of the building.

Not only did it house a boiler room, but also a… incinerator!

After neutralizing one suspect and subduing another,

    Xiao Yu opened the incinerator.

It was pitch black inside, as it wasn’t in active incineration mode.

He used his phone’s flashlight to inspect the interior carefully.

When he discovered a skull, reduced to the size of a palm by the flames, his heart sank…

    Seventh Floor, Surveillance Room.

Xiao Yu was reviewing old surveillance footage.

    ·· ······· Plead for flowers ········

A video was playing on the monitor.

A woman in her late twenties was forcibly pinned to an operating table by two men.

Her limbs were tightly bound with cable ties.

A doctor then picked up an anesthesia mask and pressed it against her face.

    The woman was rendered unconscious.

Ten minutes later, her clothing was slit open and her body disinfected.

Another doctor approached the operating table and, wielding a scalpel, casually slit open her abdomen.

He cut through effortlessly and tossed aside the incision.

Then, carefully, he reached his hand into her chest, groping for something.

Another hand with a scalpel followed suit…

    Two minutes later, a still-beating, blood-soaked heart was removed…

    …… .. …….

Throughout the entire process, the woman was treated like livestock, slaughtered for her heart.

    The most unbearable part was,

the doctor holding the heart was saying something to another doctor.

That doctor placed the heart on a metal tray, then using his scalpel, sliced and divided it while speaking to his colleague.

Afterwards, the heart-slicing doctor casually dumped the chopped heart into a trash can…

At this point, Xiao Yu slowly closed his eyes.

He took a deep breath, exhaled, and repeated the process.

If he didn’t do this, he feared he might lose control over his inner urge to kill.

He might end up doing something unforgivable!

“Fifteen suspects apprehended, eight neutralized, 22 rescued…”

Wang Dong’s voice was heavy. “This should be the place.”

    “No, it’s not here,”

Xiao Yu opened his eyes, his gaze cold. “There’s only one operating room here, but it has an incinerator.”

“What do you mean?” Wang Dong asked, puzzled.

“Since they have the means to incinerate bodies, they wouldn’t need the hassle of abandoning the corpses or transporting them to Bincheng,”

Xiao Yu’s voice was as cold as hell’s wind. “Remember when we found that three sets of imported surgical equipment went missing? Three sets… Can I assume there are two more places just like this?”

Wang Dong let out a sharp, cold breath.

If that were the case, he dared not even imagine what it meant!
