Book Chapter 707: Printed Out (Update 5)

    Night. Lin

In City N’s renowned Observation Hotel, a business suite boasted a floor-to-ceiling window.

A man lounged inside, casually gazing out while holding a glass of red wine in one hand and a pair of binoculars in the other.

He watched the scene below, noting how guards were stationed every few steps at the square.

    “I’ll be in deep trouble?”

As he observed the police scrutinizing suspicious passersby, the man couldn’t help but smirk and murmur, “What could you possibly do to me?”

“You don’t know who I am, where I am, or even what my next move will be. What power do you have over me?”

He scoffed, “Aren’t you all just puppets, dancing to my tune?”

    For three whole days.

City N deployed a massive force, combing the entire city for any suspicious individuals.

The man took it all in stride.

He watched as the police, the Armed Police, and officials scurried around like headless flies.

He felt elated, every inch of him relaxed.

Setting down his binoculars with a satisfied smile, he picked up his wine glass, ready to celebrate.

    Suddenly.

His smile froze into surprise as he stared up through the window at the sky.

Countless sparkling points ascended, like stars gathering in the heavens.

    What is that?

He grabbed his binoculars and focused on the lights, only to discover they were entire fleets of drones.

Shaking his head, it was obvious he had no interest in such childish gadgets.

He set aside his binoculars, about to resume his drink.

    Then… his expression suddenly froze.

Not only his face, but his eyes too seemed fixed on the sky.

He realized the drones had arranged themselves in the air to form a word.

    ‘Hi!’

    The man: ‘???’

Five seconds later, the drones changed the word from ‘Hi’ to another.

It then transformed into yet another character.

Every five seconds, a new character appeared.

Before a minute had passed, these letters formed a complete sentence.

    【Aren’t you glad right now?】

“Who’s being so bored?” the man wondered.

Soon, the drones spelled out another message in the sky.

【I warned you: you would suffer terribly!】

‘You will suffer terribly…’ The man’s face drained of color.

He remembered that the villa’s security cameras had been discovered by the other side.

A well-known police officer had spoken into the surveillance camera.

    Was that him? That officer?!

【Did you really think we were like headless flies?】

【Did you think we were actually out to get you?】

    【Sorry, I was just teasing you!】

【It was all staged just to entertain you.】

【I only wanted to lift your spirits.】

    【These three days—have you enjoyed yourself?】

    【Idiot, I know you’re in City N.】

    【I also know you’re watching.】

    【I even know you’re celebrating.】

【I told you: you would suffer terribly.】

    【Remember those words!】

Under the man’s furious gaze, the drones slowly descended and disappeared from sight…

    Smash!

The wine glass shattered on the floor.

    The man trembled.

It wasn’t fear—it was pure anger.

    He realized he’d been duped.

That very officer had anticipated his plan, knowing he was in City N and that he’d been watching him all these days!

He knew everything, yet deliberately played with him!

What kind of behavior is this?

Teasing me, treating me like a fool?

    How dare he!

“Damn it, I’ll make you pay, I’ll make you die!”

An abnormal flush spread across the man’s face, his eyes blazing with a frenzied madness as he roared, “If you call me a fool, I’ll show you who the real fool is!”

    ……

    At the square.

Two men sat on a bench, exhaling clouds of smoke as they watched the drones descend.

    “Does this method really work?”

Wang Dong, utterly baffled, exclaimed, “Don’t you think it’s ridiculously childish?”

In his view, this low-level provocation could fool even a child.

Not to mention a criminal with a high IQ!

“Imagine if you were a master artist who painted a masterpiece, only for someone to piss on it right as you presented it for everyone to admire…”

Xiao Yu exhaled a cloud of smoke and retorted, “How would that make you feel?”

    Wang Dong: ……

I really want to mess you up.

He understood Little Brother’s true intention.

This wasn’t about provocation—it was meant to disgust.

“I’m just here to disgust him.”

Xiao Yu grinned, “The smarter someone is, the more arrogant they become. Proud minds are the most petty. Intelligent people despise such crude tactics, yet they can’t stand being repulsed.”

“It’s like keyboard warriors—they love to irritate others. But the more someone irritates them, the less they can tolerate it.”

“Imagine one keyboard warrior getting under another’s skin, knowing his IP and even his name. If you were that furious, what would you do?”

“I…” Wang Dong pondered for a moment, “Perhaps expose him?”

    “Mm.”

    Xiao Yu nodded, “Revenge.”

“Does he dare show up?” Wang Dong doubted that the other man had such nerve.

“He wouldn’t risk appearing because he’s smart enough to know the consequences.”

Xiao Yu taunted, “He doesn’t need to show himself. He can set a trap and lure me right to him.”

    “Damn it!”

Wang Dong was shocked, “You’re planning to set yourself up for a death trap, not just to get killed?”

Assuming things are as Xiao Yu said.

If the enemy lured him somewhere, it was clearly for retribution.

They’d have set up traps in advance to make sure Xiao Yu would fall right into them.

A Hongmen Banquet is nothing less than a death trap—a single misstep risks your life!

“Are you stupid? Would you really risk dying so easily? That title of ‘Police King’ would mean nothing!”

Xiao Yu rolled his eyes, “This isn’t suicide; it’s like catching a turtle in a jar.”

    “Hehe!”

Wang Dong sneered, “They say one’s the jar and you’re the turtle. No way—I’m not on board. Don’t you have any sense of pride given your status?”

“Everyone’s waiting on your coattails to make a living.”

Yet you’re the kid who wants to party at the gates of the Underworld?

No, wait—he treats me like a brother, and here I am, almost calling him ‘Dad.’ I’m just too low.

    Xiao Yu laughed.

He had assumed that after so many years, Wang Dong would understand him.

Instead, this guy knew nothing about him.

“Could I really lose a battle I wasn’t sure to win?”

Xiao Yu slowly rose, “What is status and position bought with?”

“Of course, achievement…” Wang Dong fell silent.

And what is achievement bought with?

It’s earned through strength and competence!
