    Book 731 – I’m Truly a Good Man (Update 4)

    At the Unknown Bathhouse. Lin

Xiao Yu lounged comfortably in a chair.

After a refreshing shower, feeling clean and revitalized… yet strangely on edge.

    Was Xiao Yu nervous too?

    Absolutely!

Visiting a place like this naturally makes one uneasy, always feeling as though something’s amiss.

In truth, Xiao Yu had done nothing wrong – just taken a perfectly normal shower… and that was it.

“Aren’t you scared your wife might beat you up?”

Reclining in the chair, Xiao Yu stared in bewilderment as a waitress massaged Hua Kang’s back.

    “Why would she beat me?”

Hua Kang opened his eyes, equally confused.

He hadn’t done anything wrong – it was just a back massage, so what’s the issue?

    “Heh heh!”

Xiao Yu chuckled lightly, saying nothing further.

    “Maybe… I’ve got a bold idea.”

“Let’s give it a try – after all, Sister can’t see us, right?”

“If we try, it’s game over for me!”

Forget it – some lines in my heart just can’t be crossed.

Always that ‘6667’ feeling – if another woman touched me, even a back massage would feel like a betrayal to Sister.

Am I sick…? Xiao Yu wondered.

No, damn it – I really am a good man. A good man is me!

Stealthily, he took out his phone and recorded the video of Hua Kang having his back massaged by the waitress.

He planned to send it to Hua Kang’s wife later.

“I’m doing this for his own good – what’s my fault?”

Once the waitress left, Hua Kang opened his eyes and said, “The buyer has contacted me, but this time they want a lot of goods. They want to talk face-to-face… their boss wants to see me.”

“How many people should we bring?”

    Xiao Yu, calmly smoking, asked.

“I can only take two with me.”

Hua Kang narrowed his eyes, “I’ve got a feeling – this isn’t going to be a simple meeting.”

“That bad feeling is well founded.”

Xiao Yu exhaled a cloud of smoke, “Where’s the meeting place?”

Hua Kang mentioned an address… deep in a no-man’s land!

    “Something’s not right.”

Xiao Yu scoffed, “Out in the sticks, a murder site – burying bodies in no-man’s land!”

“It’s perfectly normal. Our old spot for Du Pen trades was in no-man’s land,” Hua Kang explained.

That made it clear why the police couldn’t cut off this line… Xiao Yu suddenly realized.

Everyone in the know understood – in a desolate area, why bother with police deployment?

Engaging in such illegal trades in these regions means everyone is aware – heaven knows, earth knows, you and I know.

It goes without saying the police would have a field day investigating.

Yet, this ‘meeting’ felt undeniably off.

Deep inside, Xiao Yu sensed an unspeakable danger.

    This wasn’t just his imagination.

But even if danger lurked, they still had to go.

Should we deploy National Security or call in Group Nine?

Forget it – facing a Drug Cartel, even if it’s just low-level poison dealers, sending in National Security is like using a cannon to knock down a fly.

They’d end up laughing at him – Xiao Yu couldn’t afford that reputation.

Just then, as the two were talking,

the main door swung open and a Glasses Man stepped in.

    “Kang, it’s been found out,”

the Glasses Man whispered, “It was Hao Ge’s doing.”

    Hao Ge? Who was that?

Wang Hao, also known as Haozi, one of the Drug Cartel’s top figures.

    What did he do?

This time he had called the police – he sold out Hua Kang.

It wasn’t hard to guess that the last time, he sold out Hua Kang as well.

Which led to Hua Kang’s arrest by the police.

Xiao Yu and Hua Kang exchanged a glance, simultaneously frowning.

    “Something’s not right!”

    Why is it off?

Everyone does things for a purpose – the main goal being profit.

What profit did Wang Hao get from selling out Hua Kang?

He couldn’t possibly be climbing the ladder.

Even if others rose in rank, it wouldn’t necessarily benefit him.

And even if their rise did benefit him, wouldn’t he worry about being found out for betraying Big Brother and facing revenge?

No matter the industry, people despise snitches.

Today he can sell someone out, tomorrow he could sell you out.

Does Wang Hao not know the fate of a rat?

How could a fool ever make it to the top of a Drug Cartel?

“Let’s go have a look and decide!”

Xiao Yu stood up and headed out toward the massage room.

Hua Kang, his face grim, followed him.

    At a warehouse,

the very same ‘Haozi’ they’d encountered the previous night was now hanging from a beam in front of the warehouse’s massive door.

Xiao Yu, Hua Kang and several other high-ranking members of the Drug Cartel… along with Yingzi, Lao Zhao, Laohu, Fifth Lord and Lao Liu were present.

Everyone glared coldly at a pale, panicking Wang Dong.

    “Haozi, why?”

Hua Kang glared icily at Wang Dong, who was suspended before him, “Have I ever wronged you?”

“K-Kang… it was me who wronged you,” Wang Hao sobbed, wailing, “Please, just give me a chance to live. I had no choice!”

“No choice? You sold me out, got Hua Kang arrested, and now you’re sending me to the execution ground to be shot?

Hua Kang laughed, “Explain yourself – what sense does that make?”

    “I…”

Wang Hao opened his mouth to speak…

but in the end, he just lowered his head in silence.

“Not good…” Xiao Yu squinted his eyes coldly at Wang Hao.

Even in such a predicament, this man still wouldn’t confess properly – isn’t he not afraid of death?

    “Everyone is afraid of death!”

Then why, knowing he’d surely die, wouldn’t he speak up?

Unless something even more terrifying than death had forced his silence.

    What could it be?

“I’ll give you one more chance,”

Hua Kang spoke coldly, “Did you want this or did someone else push you into it? Tell me, and I’ll make sure you suffer a death that’s excruciating.”

    “……”

Wang Hao still kept his head down, refusing to speak.

    “Heh heh, fine.”

Hua Kang nodded, lifting his hand. The Glasses Man handed him a knife as he smiled at Wang Hao, “I respect you as a man, and I hope you keep clamming up.”

    Thud!

The knife’s edge plunged into Wang Hao’s thigh.

“Ah!” Wang Hao shrieked in agony.

Unhurriedly, Hua Kang withdrew the knife. Just as he was about to strike a second blow,

“Kang, I haven’t practiced my blade work in ages – my hand’s itching,”

Xiao Yu grinned as he approached Hua Kang, “Back in the day, I could slice a person into over three thousand pieces. Wonder how many I can do now.”

    The onlookers: …

They stared at Xiao Yu in shock, as if he were a pervert.

    Damn, over three thousand pieces?

They couldn’t help but think of an ancient punishment… Lingchi!

This punishment wasn’t just depraved – it was brutally cruel.

Not only would the victim struggle mentally, even the mere sight of it would be too horrifying.

    “Alright then,”

Hua Kang, his expression eerie, passed the knife over.

Xiao Yu wasted no time, taking the blade and approaching the horrified Wang Hao with a sly grin, “Bon appétit!”

The knife flashed with a cold gleam as it slashed across Wang Hao.

A thin slice of meat flew off Wang Hao’s thigh, landing before the crowd.

    Everyone’s faces turned ashen.

    Second cut. Third cut…

    “I’m warning you!”

Wang Hao couldn’t bear the unbearable pain and the torment eating at his soul, and he screamed.

No one could stand watching their flesh being carved off like roasted duck.

It wasn’t merely about pain – it was the sheer horror they couldn’t endure.

Just as he uttered those words,

    Bang… gunshots rang out!
